Using the best of the Bay Area’s seasonal ingredients, our chef melds traditional Indian preparations with contemporary techniques.
The creative approach we bring to the food extends to our cocktail list which deftly blends Indian spices and herbs, from the subtle to the assertive, with our bartender’s collection of craft spirits. Our global wine list was carefully chosen to complement the array of flavors you’ll discover on our menus.

Great dinner and really excited for August’s re-opening.
Lower rating on value- but this isn’t a place you come for value, you want to come here for great food and great drinks, and enjoy the experience.
Staff was excellent and we look forward to coming back soon!
Awesome food. Service was very good for the first half of the meal. In the second half, it was horrible. Entire serving staff seemed to singularly focus on a group that seemed to know the chef or something. We were made to wait 15 minutes to get just a piece of bread, another 10 mins to clear the table, another 10 minutes to get the check, another 10 mins to get our check etc. Disappointed in the end.
Best brunch I've had in a very very long time.
Once the secret is out this place will be packed.
Different and delicious.
The food was truly incredible; we left stuffed and happy and mourning the fact that we didn't leave room for dessert.
Second visit in 2 months. Wonderful flavors. Helpful server. Cocktail menu ever-changing. Preferred my 3 drinks in January to the 2 I had this week
Best spot in Civic Center area for professional lunch. Fantastic food & great service.
Food and ambience was good, but terrible service. The server didn't care to check in on us at all during the course of our meal (didn't care to refill our waters even)
August 1 Five spinach naan is highly recommended! Actually spinach is baked in between the sheets of dough. The sauces that come with every dish are savory but don’t over power any of the main pieces.
Wonderful service and food!
The taste of the food was outstanding and the service was top notch with 50% of tables occupied. As the food variety is less, I don’t find a reason to visit again though.
Anniversary dinner with friends. Couldn’t have been a nicer evening. Fantastic service, variety of flavors, cozy atmosphere.
Best India influenced food I've ever had. Friendly informed service. Quiet enough for conversation, but we were 4 people at a corner table. Interesting well constructed cocktails.
Lovely restaurant. Food is flavorful and well presented. Service was subpar.
We arrived at 9:10 for our 9:00 reservation. The staff were
Excellent thanks Excellent thanks Excellent thanks
It was a great experience! Our server Amy was very suggestive & she knows her work & menu well.
The restaurant seemed to be severely understaffed. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks and the staff did not manage our timetable request with timing the dinner so that we make it to a show we had tickets to.
Food was good, not excellent but good.
Ambience was less upscale than it looks on website.
Very creative food. Try the crispy spinach salad - so yummy. Patrick was a great server!
I would rate the restaurant "excellent" if it were not for the type of music in the background. It was agitating and, while not terribly loud, irritating to the point of making me want to get up and leave. It was so on a previous occasion, but upon reqest the staff changed the source to one with more mellow music.
I understand this type of background music may facilitate table turnover by causing patrons to eat and drink faster, but this patron may not be there at all! It is sad to forego such interesting food due to an easily altered environment issue.
The food was absolutely splendid. We loved the chicken kebab, the duck leg, and the spinach paneer in particular.
What we didn’t like was the sequencing. We made a point of ordering the bread sampler when we first sat down, but it wasn’t delivered until we were almost done. The same with the dal and raita. We had to ask for them TWICE after we ordered, and they were delivered only after we’d finished our entrées.
So, fabulous food, very pleasant server, BUT we were very put off by when the food appeared.
this place is awesome... food is wonderful and unique ... and it is walkable to the Orpheum.... only great restaurant within walking distance
As always, our experience here was delightful thanks to the incredible cuisine, pleasant ambiance and remarkable service. Patrick was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable, steering us to the best of the best on the menu. We came before the symphony for brunch, which features some of the winners from the dinner menu as well as egg creations. The palaak chat and poori aloo were huge favorites, and I loved my crispy fish with spicy chili aioli, but I don't think you could go wrong here no matter what you order.
One of my favorite things about this restaurant is how much thought they put into cocktails as well as food. The banana pancake cocktail was a real treat and not overly sweet, and the ABCD was out of this world. All in all, another terrific visit! We love bringing friends because they're always impressed. Thank you!
Valentine's Day dinner. We had a reservation for 8. The website didn't mention a prix fixe dinner. We came as a family of 4. The reservation was delayed for 45 minutes. It took another 40 minutes to get our amuse bouche . Service was unbelievably slow - for a prix fixe unexusable. Drinks took 45 minutes. Our mains arrived at 10:30 after we pushed them to feed our children who were falling asleep.
The food was good, sadly hardly any vegan or gluten-free options which is usually a no brainer in Indian restaurants. All around us people were staring into their drinks waiting forever. We observed several couple who came in as love birds and struggled to keep the good mood up with all the waiting.
The concept was lovely but the restaurant bit off more than it could chew for a special Valentine's dinner. It seemed totally overwhelmed and had taken too many reservations. It would also be wise to tell the patrons up front that it is a set menu. Others left because of it. We had no choice as we were traveling and didn't know the surroundings.
A missed opportunity for this establishment to make it a truly special evening for all.
We sat at the bar and had a small plate each. The apples Walnut salad was delicious and the chicken kabob was very generous and delicious. The energy was high which made it fun too.
The food was good, but not unique . We had the lunch salads and a bowl which included an entree (paneer) and a naan and rice. Coconut flan (vegan) for dessert was really delicious ! I cut some stars because I thought the service was really slow. Food was good, plentiful but not out of this world. Not badly priced for the ambience and location either . Nobody answers the phone here, though. So it’s really the service that is sub-par.
We had dinner here before and liked it a lot; on Sunday we were surprised to have a terrific brunch. They have egg dishes and other small plates, all with interesting flavors. Passed on the fancy cocktails and had a really pungent, delicious bloody mary.
As in our previous dinner there, the food in the tasting menu was varied, inventive, and delicious throughout. It's not dirt-cheap, but considering the quality, and relative to prices in other very good San Francisco restaurants, it's actually an excellent value.
A friends b’day!
Fantastic food- best eaten family style so you can taste everything.
Sadly, my main course was dry (halibut was really overcooked, had no flavor). My waiter also recognized a delay in receiving my meal, so I was comped a glass of wine. He checked in frequently to make sure I was doing well, despite the fact that my food wasn't great. I will give it a shot again though because I've only heard amazing things about the food.
The food was an excellent update to Indian cuisine. Really delicious. Service was good, too. The decor and ambiance quite underwhelming, though. Dark. Plain. A bit dull.
I brought two of my staff with me and they can't wait to go back.
Family event - birthday. Chef Manish stopped by, gave us a great overview of the menu based in our lines and dislikes. Was near perfect!
We have already recommended this restaurant to several people. It was our first time there, and we were happily impressed. We especially loved the first course dishes, which we shared among the three of us. Creative and extraordinarily delicious. I also loved my cocktail, the Moneypenny G+T, which went well with all the foods that I ate, and had the additional enchanting visual attraction of small flowers floating amid mint leaves. Most memorable of the entire experience was our waiter Patrick, simply outstanding -knowledgeable, charming and fun. Thanks for a very special evening.
We reserved a table on Open Table and were seated at a high top table in a very noise bar, with high volume background music. It would have been good to know that was the only option when we reserved online.
Our server was very obvious about trying to up sell us and was a bit condescending overall. The food was good but for the price, not excellent.
We went here for dinner before Hamilton on a Saturday night. Service was very good, our server asked us if we had tickets to a show. She made sure our order was in / out on time and suggested what time we should leave the restaurant to walk to the show. Food was very good, we ordered off the regular menu and not the 5 course menu. They have a good wine list and it was a very enjoyable experience.
Love the food!! So delicious and interesting, not just your regular restaurant food! Will go again and again.
We went for restaurant week. The appetizer (cauliflower) and dessert (toffee pudding) were delicious but the entrees (duck and halibut) were lackluster. We went before the theatre and they were accommodating to our tight timeline.
