Everything was really good and the service was amazing. We will definitely return!
The best restaurant in LA!
The food and service were out of this world! 10 stars
Absolutely amazing food and beautiful restaurant. Probably one of the best in LA at this time.
The staff, service , quality level on ingredients, Chef's creative and innovation makes Auburn in my opinion the best restaurant in Los Angeles. Thank you chef Eric for such amazing experience
The most overpriced restaurant I've ever seen. The wine pairing is also grossly overpriced. The entire experience is B-. Would be even lower it if the space was not some pretty.
Beautiful, delicious dining!! Great service!! Definitely recommend!
Another terrific dinner at one of the most serene rooms in the city. Every course was delicious, with complex flavors and wonderful ingredients. The service was impeccable as always.
Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in! Separate compliments to the Somelier! She is simply amazing!
Beautiful restaurant with beautiful and delicious food for a special occasion or sharing with someone special. Bring a sweater as it’s mostly in an open courtyard so it gets cold. Not sure if they close the skylight as temperatures drop but it remained open while we dined and most of the clientele kept a jacket or sweater on. Wonderful service and would definitely recommend.
Innovative creative cooking, Michelin standard. Dedication and perfection, surprising taste combinations that blow your mind!
Was very pleasant; unfortunately the vegetarian alternatives were not as tasty, but perhaps next time!
A refreshing way to enjoy a great meal; the choices were impeccable, and, each course did not disappoint. The flavoring / spices were kept to a minimum to introduce the freshness of each ingredient.
it was a bit cold and they seemed over loaded because the timing in between courses was unusually long.
Great restaurant, just not the best night I think.
Our sever left in the middle of out dinner without say Ng anything. It took longer than the last time I dined there to get our food.
I asked for the heater to be turned on which was ignored/forgotten.
Had way better experience the first time I dined at Auburn. The food was delicious.
Excellent food, great service and cool atmosphere.
loved our dinner. outstanding complex sauces. Looking forward to returning.
What a fantastic culinary experience for my birthday’s dinner ! All was perfect from service to wines and cocktails through home made bread, presentation of the succulent meals and minimalist decoration of the room with lots of space between the tables and a view on the opened kitchen ... definitely worth a visit.
Did the six-course tasting menu and it was outstanding. Fine art meets fine food. The entire meal was course after course of transcendent, complex, multi-layered dishes. Each of the creations we tasted where perfection, and well beyond the capability or mere mortals. The service was attentive and impressively well-informed in every dish. auburn exceeded expectations in every regard.
Went for bday celebration. Restaurant wasn’t full but they didn’t seat us in the open greenery room. Instead the smaller room. Food was ok. Service was spotty. Check was left on the table without saying a word about having a good night. Wouldn’t go back.
Impressive at every turn. Best meal in LA in 20 years. Abalone was unbelievable. Ribeye and Oxtail are magnificent. Go and enjoy.
Beautiful restaurant and very cordial and attentive service- while each portion is small, we were all full at the end of the meal! The dishes are beautifully crafted and delicious. I would definitely go back but maybe with a large enough group to sit in one of the private rooms - it was hard to have conversations!
Delicious and so flexible with the tasting menu. A definite must, I will return!
Outstanding food, the black code is to die for (for example). The restaurant is beautifully designed with very clean shapes and decor. Our waiter Jason is the best waiter I have encountered in Los Angeles over the last four years in town.
Return visit taking new visitors. All was as anticipated and every bit enjoyable. Everyone wonderful... even tho’ Eric, Tick and Vhristina we’re not present! Everything was lovely!
A truly great restaurant with amazing food. I like that the courses are customizable. Service was great and even the wine pairings were on point.
A little too pricey for what it was, but excellent service and nice ambiance.
Ambiance was on point and we thoroughly enjoyed the desserts. However the food and service still needs some polishing up. We tried all the courses and they were hit or miss- flavors did not come together for each dish as you'd expect. Looked better than they tasted. Also the servers forgot to tell us what we were eating for one course and we had to flag someone down. It was a pleasant experience overall but for the price point, we were expecting more.
Thoughtful, complex, beautifully executed food in a perfect setting. Treat yourself.
The two of us showed up for our 5:30 reservation a tad late at 5:40, no issue and table was ready right away. The staff was quick and got water to our table after explaining the menu and were ready as soon as we nodded to take the order. Snacks from the kitchen came out soon after and were a good indication of the meal to come: visually interesting, complex combination of flavors, unique in concept and very light.
The meal is unique in that all the items on the menu are available to choose from, regardless of how many dishes you order. You can also order a different number of courses for yourself compared to your partner and you do not need to get the same dishes. If you're happy with 2-4 bites from a dish, auburn's format is perfect in allowing you to try everything on the menu without both ordering 12 courses. Regarding the specific dishes, the way they tasted, and how much we enjoyed them, I'll keep it short and say for this price in this city we expect everything to be enjoyable and prepared well; what we are really searching for is intrigue and novelty--auburn delivered.
As mentioned in other reviews, the portions are not large, and a standard diner should expect to order 6 or more courses per person and to perhaps duplicate a few of them; we settled for 4 each, are not heavy eaters, and came away feeling sated but not full. This is unfortunately the expectation: that an expensive meal should be delicious but also leave you just short of uncomfortable. I can say 30 minutes later we were happy we skipped a pizza from Mozza, but you might not feel the same (hence the value rating).
The closing point I'd like to make is that the service is superb; we were fawned over in the best way possible with attention to such details as taking 2-3 extra seconds to clear the table in order to insure that plates did not audibly clink. When I lent my jacket to my partner the staff approached and asked if we wanted the heaters turned on. Vespertine-like, but less formal.
Service was slow and not too helpful. We had to wait for our reservation about 20 min past the time and the restaurant was pretty empty.
Slow drink service, great otherwise !
Very creative food. We each choose 6 dishes off the tasting menu however the restaurant lets each person order different items. All dishes arrived at the same time. They also have a wine pairing. Highly recommend Auburn!!
The space at Auburn is refreshing - sleek, modern and not loud. The service is professional and the food is delicious.
Great ambiance. Great service. Great Presentation. Food was bland, poorly seasoned or not well balanced. Expense for what it is.
It is a nice restaurant with innovative, tasty food. The service is professional. But where it breaks down for me is the value. With so many restaurants offering inventive and unique tapas and tasting menus I would not recommend this restaurant to friends or colleagues. Unfortunately it is overpriced for the experience. On top of that the restaurant adds a 4% 'healthy tax' which they use to pay for their employees health care. This should be the establishment's responsibility and not something they pass on to their diners. I would much rather reward the wait staff accordingly for their attentive service. Happy we tried but the food and experience was frankly not spectacular enough to compel us to return.
Wonderful experience and gorgeous meal. Though I told them it was my partner’s birthday and they didn’t do anything though they did a candle thing for another table. Oh well.
Went there for my wife's birthday. I had gone for the first time a week prior and really enjoyed it. The food is delicious, innovative, and beautiful. The staff are knowledgeable and do a fantastic job presenting the dishes and explaining them, in fact this is half the fun. Our 3 1/2 year old dined with us, and the chef was kind enough to do a mini tasting menu for her. It was a very special experience watching her try everything and describe what she was experiencing, she loved it. Overall it's just a beautifully curated experience by people who really care. One of the best dining experiences I've had in Los Angeles.
Beautifully designed restaurant with fabulous service and delicately thoughtful food
Everything was amazing. Only thing is our table was not ready when we reached but other than that I would go back for sure!
The restaurant has creative cuisine ;it's a bit cute with enormous self pride.Service is quite responsive and thoughtful.
