From beginning to the end amazing experience, service was outstanding, with each dish explained detail by detail, food , “ my hat off to the chef and his team” every bite was unique, delicious, flavorful, detailed and beautifully presented “ for sure will be returning back .
Auburn takes the food experience to another level. Very interesting mix of flavors and beautiful presentation. The ceramic plates are so beautifully made. You get to build your own prix fixe menu by selecting 4, 6 or 9 course options. Portions are fairly small. Def not a cheap date place!
Finally a great restaurant at Providence level in LA. Highly recommended.
Everything was wonderful. It was very expensive, so of course, it's not a good value.
Superb addition to the LA upscale dining univerrse. Fresh approach to menu with free-form tasting selections, and all appealing. Expensive at $75 for 4 small courses, and $105 for 6, but not out of line given the attention to detail and quality. Worth the money. Service was slow and clumsy, but restaurant is new. They need to work on delivery of dishes and timing, with long waits between courses. Better communication here would help a lot. Otherwise excellent all around and looking forward to returning!
Wine list is small but solid choices. Will be expanded in the future. Space is gorgeous, if a bit minimalist.
Great concept - choose your own prix-fixe. Really nice modern space. Excellent service, reminded me of the highest european restaurants where cutlery and plates and glasses are changed at each course. 2 x amuse-bouches, nice. Very nice individual loaf of bread with avocado butter, yummy. The food is good, beautifully plated and presented but sometimes can be a bit bland to the taste e.g.the spot prawn with english peas. On the other hand with one or two dishes the main ingredient, e.g. the piece of duck was overpowered by the accompanying sauce, even though it was just a dab on the plate. However definitely worth another try.
I love good food and this place has great food. The menu is creative, the food is very clean and some of the best I have had recently.
The wine list is limited but good and I feel good value.
The atmosphere is super zen cool, however the open roof does make for some chills especially later on in the night. The bar is nice and the cocktails were very good.
Unfortunately the service for this Caliber of restaurant is beyond poor. The check in staff were to say the least uninterested (not uncommon for LA), but these guys lacked maturity, knowledge and direction.
The waiter and table setter were completely not what I would expect for a restaurant of this price and caliber. Nor was the pace of the food, it took us over an hour and a half to be served 2 of our 6 courses. We were left unattended without a welcome or a menu at our table for around 10 minutes.
In my opinion the food is worthy of high accolade but the service was terrible. It unfortunately didn’t ruin my wife’s birthday but it definitely tainted it.
Extraordinary meal. All aspects were absolutely perfect. I will be coming back soon!
It was amazing, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was the perfect place to enjoy such great food!
Wonderful time here to spend for pre-mothers day. Very thing was perfectly executed flavors and the plating was A1. Service was wonderful and the drinks as well.
Stunning, minimal interior, with quite extraordinary food to match. Warm, thoughtful and knowledgeable service. A terrific addition to culinary life in Los Angeles. Go!
Amazing atmosphere- the design of the space is top notch-
The food was delicious and well executed -
Our server Gayle made the night - she was very passionate and educated us so well on the food its history etc
The presentation was so perfect-
Service all around was 5 star
So much attention to making it a well serviced but not fussy experience!
We loved it and will be back.
The menu was unusual and creative and the food
Was delicious. The restaurant is very attractive and comfortable. The service was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. The staff was well trained and nice. We look forward to returning.
Great new addition to the Los Angeles dining scene. Ambitious and delivers. Beautiful, complex food that tastes wonderful.
Auburn was superb in innovative food preparations and service. Local ingredients were used and there were some unusual items we had never had. A delightful dining experience all around.
The food and decor was fantastic! Cocktails were abysmal as were the servers. Nobody knew what the dishes were. It was comical as person after person dropped off dishes and struggled to explain what we were about to eat.
It goes to show you how important service is. The food was spectacular but was unfortunately overpowered by poor service.
My friend and I had an 8:00 pm reservation to celebrate my birthday On a Thursday night. We arrived 15 minutes early and were told the table wasn’t ready, which is fine. We waited by the bar. We didn’t get seated until 8:15 even if the place was not full. We did the 6 course menu (there were a total of 12 items on the menu), so we were able to taste everything! 1. HIramasa Crudo - it seems like the green strawberries hid the flavor of the fish. 2. Sugar snap peas - loved the spot prawn and sabayon. 3. Asparagus - it could have been served simply because the bone marrow and the razor clams got lost in it. I’m not going to mention the rest or it will be too lengthy. Overall I would give it a 3 star. The amuse bouche, the b-day treats was a thoughtful touch. The avocado butter and the bread were delicious! Service could be less stiff and awkward.
Really well executed. One of the best fine dining experiences I’ve had in LA.
Everything about the restaurant exceeded my expectations
Beautiful venue, remarkable service and innovative menu. Wait staff was very attentive, made us feel special and pampered. Food presentation was spectacular and each dish was a delicious experience with the melding of flavors and textures to create some really exquisite dishes.
Superb food. Artistic, flavorful, with great attention to detail.
We learned about Auburn from a design website, which it surely deserved to receive attention from. It is a beautiful space, with an open skylight and more than one border of non-California vegetation, such as birch trees and prairie grasses. Very calming and visually pleasing. In our view, they need to work out a few menu details; some dishes were more successful than others. One of the best, to our surprise, was the charred cabbage with aligot! The amuse bouches served at the end of the meal didn't make much sense, a tiny, overly-chewy stem of candied rhubarb with some glazed leaves with a bit too much sugar on them. But the chef is inventive and the staff eager to please, so we send the very best wishes to Auburn for the future and thanks for a lovely evening.
Excellent and very very special.
Way too overpriced
The most incredible experience from start to finish. Gorgeous space, impressive service, outstanding food and wine. Can't wait to return.
Went with a party of six Sat night and had a great time! Service, food and drinks were awesome!
Really enjoyed choices in tasting menu and wine pairings.
Looking forward to going back.
Each course was absolutely mouth watering. The flavors of ever single dish was unique and balanced.
great food, love the space, professional service! well lit and not very noisy.
Wonderful birthday dinner. Food was excellent across the board. Can’t wait to return.
Only open for three weeks so assume there will be some changes. That said it was an excellent overall experience. The room is beautiful, almost austere but not cold. The service was outstanding and since almost everyone is a first timer, they are adept at explaining the menu. Tasting menu that allows everyone in the party to choose what they want from a small selection. The only thing that the party has to agree on is the number of courses. That works for a group like ours that likes to have some control over what we eat. Our response to the food varied with what we ate. The amuse bouche were the highlights...beets and crepes loved by all even the beet haters. The avocado butter with the bread also a hit, even with the avocado haters. We really liked the Halibut, Epoisse, Peas, Cabbage and Apple Tart. Were not as fond of the Asparagus, Turnip and Salt Baked Orange.
Not sure if this lives up to a two star Michelin restaurant. Overpriced food. Did a 9 course with pairing and felt it was a waste of money... mostly vegetables...
We opted for the 4 courses and each dish was so amazingly prepared both with taste and appearance. It was like having dinner at a modern museum, but you still felt at home because staff was so welcoming and attentive. Will definitely return!
Beautiful space, creative food!!
I feel a Michelin star coming for this Uber chic new restaurant in our Hancock Park neighborhood. So happy they are here!
This is such a pleasant restaurant. We were there for a birthday celebration and from the moment we stepped we liked it. The interior is simple and modern, very practical. The food was fantastic, especially liked the Duck, Halibut, and Asparagus. But all were refreshing and delicious. The plates were smartly used and the way to order is great for large or small parties. Will visit again soon.
This is a special restaurant where passion and skill are elegantly fused together making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience!
Exceptional at EVERY LEVEL, a non-pretentious, yet world class and brilliantly inspiring gastronomic experience. Chef Bost and his talented brigade are destined for multiple Michelin stars. Don’t wait, go and go often. Can’t wait until my next visit.
Everything out of this world ; food ; service ; and cocktails .
Loved the Decor, Service and food. Will be back real soon!
OUTSTANDING! New experience in dining in LA. Don't miss it!
