Auburn City Steakhouse
From the reservation online system through the entire meal was excellent. We had the prime rib sliders with French onion soup and Prime rib sandwich with onion rings. Good service and good food.
Steak was tender enough to cut with a fork!! Great taste and the service was excellent!!
Had a business dinner there with 10 of us and they took great care of us. The food was great and the atmosphere is excellent.
My wife ordered the wedge salad, and was not happy at all. I ordered shrimp Diablo, it was good overall however the sauce was bland.
The atmosphere was great.
The service was very good.
The food preparation was average at best.
Some of the best steak and wine in the region! We will be back!
The restaurant is a restored old building that was originally a hardware store. It is gorgeous. The staff were amazing! Our server, Melissa, was very knowledgeable of the food and wine and willingly shared the info. The entire staff worked together with amazing attentiveness and coordination. The food was definitely worth five stars and even more. I had the pork loin and the taste and presentation were outstanding. My grandson and his friend got the special which was a peppercorn rib eye and. It was cooked exactly as ordered. The crab cake topped with a filet medallion was a perfect appetizer and the deserts, were delicious. We were full but had to share a couple The y were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. It is definitely a place where we will be returning.
I brought my husband in for his Birthday and we were sat in the middle of the room at a sample table that wasnt very cozy. The young boy who was bussing the tables scuffed his feet and kept dropping things right next to us. We both ordered your Prime Rib and they weren't even warm. I was really looking forward to having a special mealtime and was disappointed. As far as first impressions, it wasn't the best. Not sure if I would recommend a friend or not. If we come again I hope we have a better experience.
Went there for my birthday. Was very good with an awesome surround!! Love old architecture and staff was great. Planning another trip there soon!!
Amazing food and cocktails with even better service. I highly recommend the Auburn Steakhouse
First time there, beautiful place great food, tremendous service, enjoyed very much. Thanks
The food was excellent, the service superb. I look forward to dining there again! And I highly recommend the mushroom ravioli.
Great evening with great service provided by welcoming staff!
Great food, great people. I didn’t have the best steak of my life, but it was better than any other places you would go. Service was good and the people were very helpful for our large party.
Our first trip as a family. Great looking place. Food was outstanding. Our server was training a new one and they never missed a beat. They treated my boys like they were a top priority.
This was our first dinner experience (we had been there twice for lunch). I loved the brown sugar pork chops, but the very last few bites inside toward the bone were pink. Other than that, food and experience was amazing! We will def be back!
Fantastic dinner worth the short drive for a great meal. Service was point on. Beautiful historic building.
This was our second visit to Auburn City Steakhouse, and it was fantastic. Service was outstanding, the new martinis we had were tasty, and our dinners were cooked to perfection.
Perfect experience for dining with friends!! No complaints!!
Just not our favorite place. The crab cake appetizer was great. Soups were good. One steak was right. Three other meals were over cooked.
We made a reservation for 6:45 and arrived 8-10 minutes early. We were immediately greeted, welcomed and seated. The waitress was very accommodating and friendly. Both my meal and my wife’s were delicious. I wanted the prime rib because we used to eat it at the Elegant Farmer and I was thrilled to get such a great entree. My wife’s coconut encrusted shrimp was equally delicious. We chose your restaurant to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and the entire experience was enjoyable and memorable. We are from the north part of Ft. Wayne and getting to your restaurant was a snap (about a 22 -23 minute trip). We will definitely return for another dinner in the near future.
The food is excellent. This is a special place for a special occasion. The staff are friendly people and truly care about your experience.
Upstairs, the table for two the my they seated us at, the upholstered chairs are too short. Felt like my chin was in the table.
Not sure what other duties they had our server doing but there were some very long lapses. The Greek salad is good.
After several trips over to the steakhouse I can say this, it's close. The wines by the glass (reds) are pretty palatable. There's efficient servers and others not so. The appetizer menu is ho hum and hasn't changed.
When we go there we get the prime rib only, it's reliable very good and done just as you order it.
Food was outstanding coupled with great service and a cocktail. Life is good!!!
We were first time visitors for our fortieth anniversary and very much enjoyed our evening out from walking in the door throughout dinner and then touring the building. Hope to visit the wine cellar next trip. Thank you. Karl and Carol.
Food is okay, service was horrible again! 3rd time with the same server. Kitchen staff is way to loud for this type of restaurant.... constantly yelling and carrying on. This restaurant could be so awesome if it would get some much needed direction on service and kitchen staff etiquette. However the decor and the history in this building is awesome!
We felt very welcomed. We enjoyed talking to the staff during our visit. The food was delicious and the service was excellent!
My husband ordered the New York strip, I ordered the filet & green beans. I rated this low because of the food, the steaks had so seasoning to them, the green beans also had no seasoning and weren’t served very hot. I had to add a bunch of salt and pepper. I wouldn’t go back , the food was lacking in flavor. Perhaps the cooks should use some salt and pepper , that would help tremendously , the atmosphere was nice and the server was nice as well. But the food is a no for me
We went to Auburn Steak House on Saturday night at 6:30. We were seated promptly and liked the atmosphere at first. However, it was extremely loud and busy where we were seated. People were rushing by in all directions. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We both had salads with our meals and they were delicious, especially the wedge. We feel the meals were overpriced. My husband had a fillet and ordered it med. rare. It was super rare. We do not send food back. We just brought it home. I had the Dover sole and it was not filleted at all. It was full of bone but the flavor was good. I have had it filleted table side at other establishments and it was much better. We would definitely order something different if we were to ever to go back, which is questionable.
The food was very delicious and the service was great
Excellent restaurant in the heart of Auburn. Our server Jamie was great!
Really enjoyable experience! Highly suggest a visit. Great steaks, stellar service, cool/fun ambience.
Always a great experience.
I had the pork chop was excellent. If you like the taste of brown sugar you will enjoy it. My wife had the prime rib and my sister had the haddock. The haddock looked great and I think I will try it next time we dine there.
My friends are not the elite, and from the cost: over $100 for 3 people, once a year would suffice.
We had very poor service! Drinks took forever to get, waitress messed up order twice, had to ask for bread ( did not receive from waitress...had to ask another waitress). Would not order prime rib again due to lack of flavour. The filets and wedge salad were excellent.
I really want to give this restaurant 5 stars as it has great potential. However, we went on a Saturday evening , 8pm. They were out of the special ( ribeye ) the prime rib was also out, offered Brussels sprouts, what arrived on my plate was 4 very large asparagus stalks instead. I wasn’t offered another choice, just given the asparagus. The waitress was embarrassed to keep returning to say they were out of things, oh yes, out of bread also. The atmosphere is on point. Lots of potential here . But... you must have food to serve. We still had a nice time . The drinks were great! We will give it another chance! It’s a gorgeous place and could be amazing !
Not a good experience. We were not welcomed when we came in. Waited for several minutes and then were taken to our seats. Waitress did not inform us of any drink or food specials. Waited several minutes every time we ordered drinks. Only thing that was good were appetizers. Salad had next to no dressing and steaks were very fatty. Not sure if we will visit again for the price we paid.
There were 6 of us in Auburn for a car meet and I had a meal at the Auburn City Steakhouse in May, so I made reservations for 4. We had 2 people ask to join us and the restaurant made arrangements to accommodate us without previous arrangements. We were seated immediately. 3 of us ordered the prime rib and each of them was delivered to our table cooked exactly as we ordered them. The food was delicious, our server was pleasant and responsive to our requests.
I would have rated them a 5, but my standards for outstanding are very high.
