We thought the food was very good, although my daughter got the Ratatouille and did not care for it all that much. The restaurant had lovely decor--rich and still welcoming--I would like to eat there on a could autumn or winter evening. The service was poor. Our waitress was very good but you could tell she was spread way too thin and the whole process was very slow. She explained at the end of the night that they were very short-staffed and it certainly showed.
Delicious brunch menu. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the food. Delicious salads and Poutine.
We love Auberge! We love French cuisine AND that 90% of the menu is Gluten Free makes it very easy to order and share when you have mixed restrictions.
A very nice spot for a dinner, the setting itself very nice. The service was not good, one reason being the server was not capable. Four adults ate, two finished their meal, two could not finish the food was so poorly made, not edible. We wont be returning.
In the past, we’ve had many great meals at Auberge. The quality of food was always excellent.
I’m not sure if the chef is different or what, but two out of four entrees that we ordered were not very good. One of which, the ratatouille, used to be one of their best. The other was the shrimp cake.
We’re hoping that this was an aberration, because the location and service are great!
Outdoor dining with jazz trio. Good food. Good music
We sat in the front outdoor garden area- very charming! Our server Trisha was lovely and helpful, as was the bartender Amy who made excellent cocktails for us. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer which were good, but not outstanding. We also ordered the veal cordon bleu and the ratatouille, both of which were disappointing. The cordon bleu was served almost as an overdone egg roll, cut in half. The meat and cheese inside were dry and overdone. We ate the insides and left the “shells”. The ratatouille was ok flavor wise, but dry. When I’ve had or prepared it in the past it comes out like a stew, a bit saucy, but this was just individual bits of vegetables, a bit too dry.
Overall this was a lovely restaurant and I want to give them another chance. Perhaps it was just a bad night?
Food was good, as expected for the price. Service tonight unfortunately was well below expectations, though. Our server was a nice, young gentlemen, but the service was very poor. Our dinner took twice as long as it should have taken and the server would disappear for what felt like 20 minutes at a clip.
Excellent venue for food and drink served in a charming atmosphere hindered only by its consistently slow service. Overall worth the wait.
Excellent service. Above average food. Expensive.
After returning from Paris where we enjoyed beef bourguignon in a thick, rich wine sauce with potatoes and carrots, we sought out a local restaurant where we might find the same. After reading the reviews on Auberge’s
bourguignon, I thought we’d found it...but it didn’t quite hit the mark. The sauce was not rich...in fact, it tasted more like herbs and I could not detect any hint of wine at all. The meat was not very tender...rather chewy. And I wasn’t really prepared for crunchy pea pods and semi-cooked carrots and squash in my bourguignon. It was disappointing. Like the bourguignon had been Americanized or simply a pot roast.
The service was okay. The wine and beer selection was nice, and the restaurant, itself, is charming. We will probably try again. The table next to us had burgers and pomme frites that looked delicious. Would also like to try the outside patio.
What a charming place--excellent food and service! We totally enjoyed the experience.
We went to France last year for our 25th Anniversary and enjoyed food and wine. I saw an ad for Auberge in Indianapolis Monthly in February. The Menu had appetizers and meals we tried in Paris. We came to the restraurant for our Anniversary the food, wine and atmosphere was romantic and are waiter was helpful. We would recommend this restraurant to friends and family. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Fantastic food, excellent service. Make a reservation ahead of time.
Hi Cait, We are so pleased you enjoyed your experience at Auberge & hope to welcome you again soon! Best Regards, Abigail, AGM
I was skeptical on the set up thinking it would be loud and difficult to converse - but it was wonderful! and the food was excellent. It was a wonderful evening with great friends!
Hi AGV13, We are so pleased you enjoyed your experience at Auberge! We can't wait to welcome you back soon. Best Regards, Abigail, AGM
Had excellent food and great service. Music was right on point for the outdoors. Highly recommend. The crab cake was incredible
Food was outstanding! What seemed like it was just a typical item that I ordered, the preparation, seasoning and hence taste was superb...
It was absolutely more than I could ever have expected. It was our wedding anniversary dinner and we had the chef's tasting menu and it was amazing.
This is the best French restaurant in the Indianapolis area. I don’t know why we’ve waited so long to try this restaurant on brick Main St. In Zionsville. It is in an Inn. The salad and Tuna Tartare were very good. The Beef Bourguignon was the best I’ve had. Bread was excellent. Cocktail menu was creative and large. Great French wines by the glass.
Hi David, Thank you so much for your review. We are very happy you enjoyed your experience at Auberge & hope you see again soon!
Food was ok but was not as good as other French restaurants that I have been to.

Thank you so much for your review! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Very nice atmosphere. Not noisy like most restaurants. Dining inside and out. That night there was a trio playing music outside and lots of folks enjoying dinner and/or drinks on the patio on Main Street, Zionsville. Inside, I sat by the window and could hear the gentle music.
Zionsville is a wonderful place to visit and Auberge is one of the many fine restaurants.

Took my daughter for a special dinner, atmosphere and service was great. However, the food was okay.

Went early on a Saturday night (6:15). Had been before a year or more earlier and had a great experience. First, 2 of the 7 main entrees were unavailable. Server did not explain or discuss any of the food or wine which you expect at the price point. Food was fine but mussels were just ok and I wouldn’t order them again. Overall would not recommend which is a shame because I wanted to love this restaurant.

First time visit for lunch with girls. Loved it. Will be back probably for dinner soon.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We look seeing you for dinner soon!
Great value, especially on 1/2-price wine night. Unique, creative and well thought menu for an Indianapolis metro restaurant. I would recommend to anyone who would like an out of the norm dinner in a great atmosphere and a touch of french.
Hi Chris, Thank you so much for the kind words! We look forward to seeing you again soon and making your next visit 5-stars all around!
A wonderful French style bistro in the heart of Zionsville. Great bar and food. Brunch is fantastic with a wide range of choices. Eat outside and enjoy great downtown atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed!
Excellent food. A great location in downtown Zionsville on the main street. Outdoor seating was wonderful on a nice night. Nice ambient (not too loud) live music. It's not cheap, but an excellent experience for date night!
We really liked this restaurant. We will go back. We were seated next to a megaphone mouth that never ceased to have something to say. We did not request a seat change but probably should have. We were seated on the patio which would normally be lovely but the business next door decided to mow its lawn. So between heavy lawn equipment and the megaphone mouth, the experience was less than great. But the food was superb, the service was attentive and very nice just like any situation select the seats carefully.
Fabulous place for lunch! Service was exceptional. Food was also great - the CROQUE MONSIEUR and the CHICKEN-BOURSIN BAGUETTE were both outstanding. Several at our table got the burger which was also very well done, but this is a really good Bistro, so...… why not have something different?!?! You won't be disappointed. We will be there again, a lot.
Found this restaurant via Open Table and very glad we did. Four of us had an excellent evening with good food and wine. Car parking was available almost directly opposite. We would eat here again if in the area.
My husband and I went to Auberge for the first time last weekend to celebrate our engagement anniversary. The hostess made sure to reserve a table outside for us underneath the beautiful tree. We were pleasantly surprised to see live music out on the patio which also added to the lovely evening. The brie and toast was amazing, along with the crab cakes and steak frites! A must try date spot for sure.
I had a most enjoyable experience. Chef Peter came out and dialogued with diners. A wonderful gem in beautiful Zionvillesville!
Hi Angelac! We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your experience with us! Thank you so much for taking the time to give us these kind words. We look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon. :)
The atmosphere outside is fantastic- the food is not very good - especially for the price
Lovely mother's day brunch
Everything was good. The salad Lyonnaise we had was outstanding, as was the bottle of wine we ordered. My husband had steak frites, which was ok. I had the Boillbzise which was good. The service, good. The bread was below average, as was the mousse and the Brie appetizer. I
The food is always great but on this occasion there was a violinist playing during our dinner. She was amazing! We also made friends with the couple that sat next to us. A very lovely evening! We love Zionsville!
Thank you for your review Janet! We are thrilled you enjoyed yourself and Olga's beautiful violin playing. We look forward to seeing you again soon!!
My wife and I really enjoyed the 5-course Chef's Tasting Menu. The creamy pumpkin soup wth lardons, creme fraiche, and pumpkin seed oil was absolutely extraordinary. The confit of duck with creamed cabbage and roasted chateau potatoes was excellent. We really like Auberge's cocktail menu with seasonal cocktails (the Grapefruit-Sage Old Fashioned was a hit), as well as some great classics they call "Timeless Cocktails" like the French 77 and the Vesper Martini (yeah we tried those too). Very nice place. Love the atmosphere. No doubt we will be returning very soon.
