I met some friends at Aubaine for an early evening dinner. We grabbed a booth which was less formal for chatting. The Prix Fixe menu had good choices. Portions on the small side. The staff were friendly and helpful. Wish I'd had the chocolate dessert!

I've had better meals at Aubaine. The food is generally good and nicely presented, it is perhaps unfortunate that on this occasion unbeknown to is our visit coincided with a major NFL event in Regent Street. This meant that the restaurant was extremely noisy with larger groups of diners, the service was slow and inattentive. We did however take advantage of the Happy Hour offer on Prosecco at half price which was good value. I would visit Aubaine again but choose my date more carefully next time.

Food was pretty average, the starter was much better than the main. Wine list was really overpriced. (The calamari was beaut). Quite romantic candle lit. Music from outside very overpowering which kind of disrupted the mood.
Wasn't the best place I've eaten but the area was cute. Would much prefer to try somewhere new than return.

To be frank the service was terrible. We sat outside and it wasn't busy but it too time for the waitress to bring the menu. She also didn't explain what was on the specials board. The food wasn't great and you don't get a lot. We had to ask for the desert menu but decided not to have anything as they ere letting people smoke at the table next to us. Now I am a smoker but I would not smoke around people eating!!!! Overall I would not recommend this chain to anyone.

Interesting experience. I have been here before & was lovely. This time we sent food back, it was clearly left over from lunchtime, the seared tuna was cold & grey, the salad soggy & not fresh & should never have been served. Manager dealt with it v well & fresh dinner was sent out but v disappointing.

Lovely setting in Heddon Street with both inside and out-door tables. Good décor and atmosphere. Had the ravioli for my main course which was rather bland. My dining companion had a fish main that was also bland. Unfortunately the food let down the surroundings.

Second time we've been here and we weren't disappointed. It was my wife's birthday and I phoned ahead to tell them, and I didn't have to say anything else - when we arrived they discreetly acknowledged to me that they were aware. For dessert they made a great show of bringing out my wife's with a candle in the top.

Birthday aside, the atmosphere was lovely, the food was excellent, as was the wine, the service was faultless and value was fantastic - 2 courses with plenty of wine for around £55 per head, within a few steps of Regent Street.

Great location just off of Regent Street, it takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the busy shops. We sat inside, it was very busy so felt slightly crowded. The food was good, although not piping hot. Also, it would be good if they could consider those with allergies and provide guests with gluten free bread. Wine and coffee good, macaroons always a hit too.

We were warmly greeted at the door and seated immediately. Before leaving us to settle down, we were asked if we would like a drink. That was nice as it was a chilly afternoon when we arrived.
We had moules & frites and omelette with a side of frites. Bread at the table was a nice touch too as you have to ask at a few restaurants.
Food was fresh, well-prepared and plentiful.
Service was efficient and friendly.
Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Whilst the welcome was ok, in spite of few tables being occupied, the service was slow.
The food (mussels) was overcooked and chewy and my friends dishes were very average with nothing to distinguish them from another restaurant.
As a design issue, we were seated in a hemisphere on a banquette. The table was too small in diameter, so that either one person was seated comfortably and the other perched on the edge of the seat or vice versa.
Overall it was all acceptable, but very easy to find better quality food for the same price.

Disappointing experience. The pre-theatre menu was not offered with regular menu although our table was for 5.30.
Menu choices were varied but our lobster bisque was thin and under-seasoned.
Turkey ballotin was tasty but dry.The stuffing was delicious.
Dessert was a tart that was actually brioche and my green yuzu macaRon was tooth-achingly sweet.
Best were the delicious cocktails and very nice bread.
Service,in an uncrowded restaurant, was pleasant but inattentive.

It was a mistake to choose this restaurant. It was really only because it was pretty close to the venue for a concert we go to every year. We chose from the 'festive menu' because it was cheaper (but not cheap) and were generally disappointed. Very small portions, not very tasty food, apart from the chestnutty gravy on the turkey ordered by two of our party.
Fancy chairs do not a good restaurant make. Won't bother again.

Food was lovely but service wasn't great. Difficult to get attention of staff, although the restaurant wasn't very full and there were plenty of staff. Asked for jug of water 3 or 4 times before getting glasses of water. Staff didn't seem interested in taking orders for dessert or coffee.

I didn't make any complaint at the time because it would have disrupted our evening but I did email the manager afterwards. So far I have had no reply, so I don't think customer service is high on their priority list

Impressive restaurant in a trendy and stylish Street. Food choice great and very tasty. Was able to taste wine samples before ordering. Wine recommendations very enjoyable. Lovely setting and we weren't pestered by waiter. Attentive enough to fill our glasses though. Perfect choice for a special occasion and would definitely go back again and recommend to friends.

I used to be a massive Aubaine fan. I don't know what is going on but their standards have been slacking recently. Service was poor ( side bacon was cold), we had to wait for 50 min to get some pouched eggs, and the food was simply average.

Lovely restaurant in a gorgeous location. The reason I've scored food and value a little low is because my superfoods salad was heavy on leaves and light on halloumi which I paid £4.50 extra for... ( I think 3 small slices!) Sorry, my friends had the set menu and the food was fantastic for them.

Wooed by favourable reviews and tempted by the prix fixe menu online, I booked for a late lunch with my oldest girlfriend. We meet monthy for a girls lunch and love trying somewhere new. Hugely disappointed by Aubaine. The food was tasteless (especially the "salad" with the red mullet starter) and we both complained to a waiter about the starter sized portion of bland luke warm gnocci for the main course. He just ignored us. The serving staff were disinterested and never smiled. I can say nothing to recommend this restaurant. I don't think I'm alone - the restaurant was virtually empty throughout the 3 hours we were there.
