The chocolate shake is to die for!!! Baklava was also yummy!
I thought the food was very tasty and I'm not a vegan. It was super busy. Once the waitstaff could get to us he was very professional and attentive. I have recommended this restaurant to friends. Everything we had was good-the soup, egg roll, bahn mi
Amazing food! The yam shrimp are incredible!!! The layout is great! We’ve ordered take out from here a number of times, this was the first time we ate in. So glad we did! This is our new favorite restaurant!
We really liked foods here. Service is very good and professional. Definitely return.
My husband and I enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner at Au Lac! They had a lovely booth reserved for us. The restaurant energy was busy but not too loud. Our food was delicious... the Ito burrito, Curried rice, Black Pepper Shrimp and friend fries. Best part - all Vegan! Yum!
Was a really great experience and really tasty food, and amazingly all Vegan
Unusual! No longer serve alcohol, all vegan. Some very creative dishes. The sesame noodles were excellent. Each dish is specially prepared and fresh—long wait to be served. Friendly and quite a mixed edgy crowd. An experience
Brilliant brilliant brilliant experience. Recommend to anyone and everyone.
Great staff and excellent food. We will be back, hopefully soon.
We always enjoy the delicious vegan food and the attentive wait staff. Whenever we have an opportunity to introduce someone to Au Lac, we will do so.
I love this place! I've been here many times, and it's my go-to place for healthy eaters who are foodies. Everything is so interesting and fresh and the selection is great. I highly recommend the octopus (which is just fancy mushrooms) which I still think is the best thing on the menu!! Everyone I'm with always loves it! The soups are great too! The only thing I've ever had that I didn't care for was the Ito burrito. Everything else is amazing; this place is a must try if you're looking for a different and interesting place. I love it and cannot wait to go back!
The service was amazing and personal. The food was fresh and the flavors inspirational. We loved our first visit here. As of our seating on February 6th, alcohol is not served, but if you want that flavor, non-alcoholic beer and wine are served. We loved the kombucha and tea offerings.
Food is amazing. So delicious. The service was a little sketchy. We were going to a show at the Music Center. It just took too long for someone to take our order (more than 35 minutes. Sat there without even having any water) and then for the food to arrive-- we had to really eat fast, pay as the food arrived, and run to make it. Stressful. We got to the restaurant with plenty of time too, so, just bear that in mind if you need to be somewhere. That aside, the food was amazing. Fresh and flavorful. I would definitely go back-- just not when I had to be somewhere after.
Food and service were excellent!
Great good and great experience! Pho was yummy!
Overall nice experience and decent food. Wait staff was a bit overtaxed for a busy night and the management needs to step up their game to help keep the restaurant moving on a busy night when most patrons are trying to get out in time to make their show at the Music Center. I recommend getting to restaurant at least an hour and 45 minutes before your show to be on time
Food was soooo good! Amazing vegan and gluten-free options - highly recommend!
Service very slow.
The food was delicious but it takes a long time to get it! Also, it would be nice if they either got a liquor license or would allow people to bring their own.
What a find! I found this place searching “restaurant near me” on google while in gridlock on a freeway and it was the greatest food and ambiance!
Parking isn’t easy but one you figure out the parking entrance is in the alley, it was only a dollar with validation.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Don’t go if you want meat or alcohol. There will be only gourmet vegan tasty meals and drinks. Amazing teas!
When I arrived the hostess couldn’t have been less interested in greeting me and the line of people behind me. I would’ve written the restaurant off based on the poor customer greeting. I even called and noticed she ran to pick up the phone at the bar (yes there’s an adjoining bar but do they have alcohol, I don’t know) but had no interest in greeting a real person at the entrance with a reservation.
Everything improved after that initial experience with the hostess working that night. I give it a four-five star rating on all counts except service. To be fair, the servers were great once seated.
The faux shrimp dish is the bomb! Also the magic mushroom tea was tasty and apparently full of nutrients promising greater longevity so you have to the stamina to wait until you get seated the next time you come back.
A real find hidden in a strip mall across from Disney Hall.
Slow server. Food arrived cold.
My first time being here the food was amazing. I took three meat eating friends of mine and they said they could be vegan if they could eat here every day
Last minute arrangements before catching "The Last Ship" at the Ahmanson Theatre. Was given a beautiful quiet booth so my niece and I could talk and Michael (our waiter) was outstanding in helping us make great selections (the food was outstanding) and getting us out in time to make the show! Great, caring people and outstanding food - the perfect choice before catching any shows in the area!!
Terrific food. It was all good, but we highly recommend the garlic basil noodles! Wished we would have ordered one for the road!
Typically I go in the evening and thre service and ambiance is great. This visit we were rarely checked on and a child was allowed to pound away at the piano for nearly our entire meal. Also, the servers conversations were easily heard which I find unprofessional. We also had to take our check up so that we could leave.
They were out of our first two choices so that was disappointing.
Everything came out great and tasting good. It was a friend's birthday and she's been trying easy vegan. She was very happy after our meal :)
We were going to the Disney concert hall and needed a restaurant nearby. I am always up for trying something new and thus booked dinner at Au Lac - before I learned one of the women in our group is a vegetarian! Pleasantly, all four is us were blown away by the experience. The food was delicious, service exceptional and the location could not have been better.
MUST get the octopus and shrimp! It's unreal the similarity in texture and taste - so impressed
The Faux Shrimp and Octopus live up to the hype. Outstanding plant based meal trip to bottom which included desert. Keep up the good work.
Unique vegan restaurant across the street from the Music Center & 1 block away from the Broad. Many dishes are derived from Vietnamese cuisine. The "shrimp" appetizer, tostado & lemongrass "fish" we got were all tasty.
We are from Murfreesboro, Tennessee and we don’t have 100% Plant Based restaurants in our area. It was refreshing to be able to go out to eat and have options being a Vegan. I wish we had this where I am from so if I didn’t want to cook I had another option. The food, service, and ambiance was superb. We liked it so much we visited twice, may stop by again before we leave.
Absolutely LOVED this place! The food was amazing, with attention to every detail. Service was top-notch! My dad said it was one of the best meals he has ever had and he is not vegan!
Always amazing! The staff, the food, the energy! I love it!!!
First time coming, my friend found it. And we were so happy with the food. We will be coming back! They were short staffed; the hostess was amazing; helping with waiting tables. And the place was busy. She kept her poise and perfection with doing both jobs and she knew the menu and gave great recommendations.
I am not Vegan or a Vegetarian but I have begun to appreciate the cuisine. Also I noted I did not go into an animal fat coma after lunch.
The Norrito (salad) and the Lasagna were both particularly good.
It was a Christmas meal amongst friends that was excellent on so many levels and will definitely be memorable. Au Lac is superb!
Our waiter was awesome. Our host was not. She sat us down and we sat there for 10 minutes. With only a few tables with customers I could hardly excuse this with the traffic of people.
The food was good. And our waiter was awesome. Forgot his name. Had a bandanna with an earring I think.
Definitely will be coming back! So many interesting dishes, and what we ate was fantastic. Try the curried wild rice with cauliflower.
