The food was beyond delicious, we will come again, and again
New spot before the theater 😍
The theater
This is in the top 2 plant based restaurants in Los Angeles and any where else in the world that I have eaten. I have been plant based for 5 years and love this place, whether you are plant based or just want an incredible tasting meal. innovative menu !!!!
This is a great place for vegans, except for the obsession with meat mimicry. The food is very tasty and well worth the price. The kombuchas were very good and made up for the total lack of alcohol. Which is good because the non-alcoholic wine isn't worth it if you know what real wine tastes like, so skip it. The deserts were perfectly sized and very tasty. The flan and tirawmisu were strong favorites. If you're going to an exhibit, performance, or show at one of the many nearby museums and performance venues, this place is well worth experiencing. Check them out!
Once we were seated, it took about ten minutes for a server to take our orders
A lovely space, right across from major performance spaces.
Good food and service, but can be a little spendy.
The food was fantastic! My girlfriend and I have been exploring Vegan dinner options since we introduced vegan eating days as part of our weekly eating routine and we were so happy to find this place. The salt and peppered shrimp was excellent and if you like something sweet, try the chocoholic! Super delicious!
Very tasty pre-show dinner. The 'octopus' was especially delicious.
The food, the service, the ambiance--it's all a facade. Like Jordin Sparks' rise to fame in American Idol and release of 'No Air'--only for her career to disappoint shortly thereafter. My stomach and mind were restless the following 12 hours. I think they may have used the wrong kind of mushrooms in the "octopus." It looked like our server ate the mushrooms too.
In the wise words of Randy Jackson, "It's gonna be a no for me dawg."
Slow service, interesting menu, reasonable prices, good for family style sharing
Food was great! We will return!
Our waiter Michael was great, perfectly attentive and lovely, we also met the owner Mai and she was also lovely, and the food was delicious. We were inspired by her creativity.
Phenomenal flavors! Every dish was a delight. The yam “shrimp” was amazing, the raw lasagna was a surprise delight. Loved the egg rolls. The service was charming. Can’t wait to go back! I’ll have to check the hours but this could be my new go-to spot to meet friends for a quick bite before Disney Concert Hall events.
Excellent service and food was wonderful!
Great imaginative food for us to have for our LA visit with my nephew pre Philharmonic. Perfect for my vegetarian daughter.
Curried rice only dish that wasn’t a hit. Everything else was great.
I was so pleasantly surpized how creative and delicious the food was. Will go back soon
The food is not good. The server didn’t know anything about the menu. Service was overall bad. Don’t recommend.
The chocolate shake is to die for!!! Baklava was also yummy!
I thought the food was very tasty and I'm not a vegan. It was super busy. Once the waitstaff could get to us he was very professional and attentive. I have recommended this restaurant to friends. Everything we had was good-the soup, egg roll, bahn mi
Amazing food! The yam shrimp are incredible!!! The layout is great! We’ve ordered take out from here a number of times, this was the first time we ate in. So glad we did! This is our new favorite restaurant!
We really liked foods here. Service is very good and professional. Definitely return.
My husband and I enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner at Au Lac! They had a lovely booth reserved for us. The restaurant energy was busy but not too loud. Our food was delicious... the Ito burrito, Curried rice, Black Pepper Shrimp and friend fries. Best part - all Vegan! Yum!
Was a really great experience and really tasty food, and amazingly all Vegan
Unusual! No longer serve alcohol, all vegan. Some very creative dishes. The sesame noodles were excellent. Each dish is specially prepared and fresh—long wait to be served. Friendly and quite a mixed edgy crowd. An experience
Brilliant brilliant brilliant experience. Recommend to anyone and everyone.
Great staff and excellent food. We will be back, hopefully soon.
We always enjoy the delicious vegan food and the attentive wait staff. Whenever we have an opportunity to introduce someone to Au Lac, we will do so.
I love this place! I've been here many times, and it's my go-to place for healthy eaters who are foodies. Everything is so interesting and fresh and the selection is great. I highly recommend the octopus (which is just fancy mushrooms) which I still think is the best thing on the menu!! Everyone I'm with always loves it! The soups are great too! The only thing I've ever had that I didn't care for was the Ito burrito. Everything else is amazing; this place is a must try if you're looking for a different and interesting place. I love it and cannot wait to go back!
The service was amazing and personal. The food was fresh and the flavors inspirational. We loved our first visit here. As of our seating on February 6th, alcohol is not served, but if you want that flavor, non-alcoholic beer and wine are served. We loved the kombucha and tea offerings.
Food is amazing. So delicious. The service was a little sketchy. We were going to a show at the Music Center. It just took too long for someone to take our order (more than 35 minutes. Sat there without even having any water) and then for the food to arrive-- we had to really eat fast, pay as the food arrived, and run to make it. Stressful. We got to the restaurant with plenty of time too, so, just bear that in mind if you need to be somewhere. That aside, the food was amazing. Fresh and flavorful. I would definitely go back-- just not when I had to be somewhere after.
Food and service were excellent!
Great good and great experience! Pho was yummy!
Fantastic food!!!
Overall nice experience and decent food. Wait staff was a bit overtaxed for a busy night and the management needs to step up their game to help keep the restaurant moving on a busy night when most patrons are trying to get out in time to make their show at the Music Center. I recommend getting to restaurant at least an hour and 45 minutes before your show to be on time
Food was soooo good! Amazing vegan and gluten-free options - highly recommend!
Service very slow.
The food was delicious but it takes a long time to get it! Also, it would be nice if they either got a liquor license or would allow people to bring their own.
What a find! I found this place searching “restaurant near me” on google while in gridlock on a freeway and it was the greatest food and ambiance!
Parking isn’t easy but one you figure out the parking entrance is in the alley, it was only a dollar with validation.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Don’t go if you want meat or alcohol. There will be only gourmet vegan tasty meals and drinks. Amazing teas!
When I arrived the hostess couldn’t have been less interested in greeting me and the line of people behind me. I would’ve written the restaurant off based on the poor customer greeting. I even called and noticed she ran to pick up the phone at the bar (yes there’s an adjoining bar but do they have alcohol, I don’t know) but had no interest in greeting a real person at the entrance with a reservation.
Everything improved after that initial experience with the hostess working that night. I give it a four-five star rating on all counts except service. To be fair, the servers were great once seated.
The faux shrimp dish is the bomb! Also the magic mushroom tea was tasty and apparently full of nutrients promising greater longevity so you have to the stamina to wait until you get seated the next time you come back.
A real find hidden in a strip mall across from Disney Hall.
Slow server. Food arrived cold.
