Literally one of our favorite places to eat. Food is always incredible & savoury. Hospitality is unmatched & the management (Kevin) goes above than could ever ask for making sure your experience is unbelievable each & every time. Highly recommend to anyone. They make everything so fresh & unique, you can taste it
Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Short rib was outstanding. Sides were awsome. We sat outside I probably would prefer to sit inside next time.
Great food and service.
First, my wife has dietary restrictions due to medical issues and was told they could accommodate. They provided her with Brussels sprouts and guacamole. That’s all they could figure out for her. Second, my kids 6 and 9 shared the shrimp taco plate for two. Three shrimp were included in the order. Not even enough food for them. The shrimp tasted bad like it was old. I’m from the gulf coast and know good shrimp from bad. Third, I ordered the salsa flight and didn’t like any of the salsas. Flavor was off on some and flavorless on others. The sauces provided for the shrimp tacos were just as bad. Finally, we sat at the bar top with a nice fruit display on ice. While one of the workers was shucking oysters the bowl of lemons slid off the ice and spilled my beer and water all over me. Although they helped me clean it all up and refilled my drink there was nothing else said about it. No drink comp or acknowledgement from management. Our server was nice and knowledgeable but the overall treatment and food was terrible. Spending that kind of money should have been a better experience.
The food was amazing. I had the barbacoa which melted in my mouth. Our server was very friendly and easy to talk to. The only thing I don't like is how loud the atmosphere is.
Service was phenomenal, as was the queso fundido and braised short rib.
The food was astounding. Highly recommend the short rib entree. The pepita semifreddo was one of the best desserts I’ve had at a restaurant.
If you are avoiding gluten, this entire restaurant is gluten free.
5/5 would recommend this spot.
Probably the most knowledgeable waiter I have ever had.
Our service was great. Our waitress recommended fabulous options on the menu! The food was fantastic and the portions were sizable. It was a wonderful date night and we would highly recommend ATX Cocina!
The short ribs were amazing. The papas bravas were way more spicy than advertised, caveat emptor there.
Amazing food al gluten free.
Such good flavors!!
Noise is soooo loud!!
Wonderful food and great service from wait staff. The host stand leaves one with a bad taste in their mouth before they even sit down. Arrived on time for our reservation, but was directed to the bar as half of our party was enroute. Unfortunately, the bar was visibly at capacity and I was looking forward to a true dinner not drinks. For spending northward of 500 dollars, I would’ve enjoyed a better welcome. Again great food and great servers!
We really enjoyed ATX Cocina. The flavors are unique and the homemade tortillas are divine. The guac was really fresh and flavorful. Prices are a bit high, even for downtown Austin and the place can get really loud and while we had great service on our last visit, had spotty service in the past. But overall we really really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning soon!!
We enjoyed our first visit very much and sure to return in the near future
We went here for the 4th of July, and so glad we did! Had an excellent meal and a great view of the fireworks 💥
Apparently, there was a break in a water line causing one of the cooking lines to be suspended. So 2 of our entrees had to be replaced and were delayed. We took our kids who were very hungry so we asked for some quesadillas until the new order could be delivered. Of course they charged us for it ($10.00). So we didn't get what we ordered, our food was 20 minutes late, and we were charged full price for everything. That's fine. But I won't be going back. There are many great restaurants in Austin with better customer service and comparable food. After tip for 4 with 1 mixed drink and 1 glass of wine the cost was $265.00. Not even close to worth the price. Also, it was a birthday dinner and this was not acknowledged by the staff. If you are going to spend that much money I would go elsewhere.
Interesting and unique take on modern Mexican. Good energy and vibe. Menu leans spicy. Fun place to have a great dinner.
Hip spot with excellent food & service! Weston provided helpful suggestions and details as to the dishes preparations as well as portion size. Lovely, modern decor, but definitely loud.
Can't recall the actual dish names from the menu, but the shrimp and halibut dishes from the Dos and the and crab and shrimp dishes from the Crudo were fab, as was the corn side and chocolate ganache dessert. The Carne Asada was flavorful, but there was a great deal of fat and grizzle.
Excellent food and service. Appetizers are creative variations on standard Latin fare. Main dishes are incredibly good. Perhaps the best short rib I ever had. The duck was excellent. We could not have asked for better service. Drinks are limited to menu items and there is no flexibility. However the few entries the bar offers are all very good.
My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary in Austin and stopped by ATX Covina for dinner. We were pampered - amazing food recommendations, the Guacamole and Sope were outstanding, the Chili roasted chicken amazing (and spicy!) and the cocktails (try the house Paloma) the perfect mix of strength and flavor.
We were presented with an anniversary card that the entire staff had signed - what a great touch. I can not recommend this place highly enough - thank you for an amazing time.
Wonderful, our server was delightful.
We did not get our food for over an hour before we finally asked for it to go. We were on a business lunch with a potential colleague, so this was embarrassing and uncomfortable for everyone.
Food preparation and tastes were fabulous, food came out fast but staff was so quick to remove our dishes that I felt a bit rushed. Noise level was a bit loud but good if you are looking for an energetic pace.
Great spicy margarita and wonderful steak!
Great food and friendly service. A popular place for a lovely meal.
First, the annoying facts upon arrival. Place was totally packed and had to wait for a table (just a little). The restaurant not only has outdoor and indoor seating but they also have normal booth/table seating outdoors and high chair/bar style seating indoors. So you might book a standard seating indoor table thinking you are going to get a nice normal (better) table but instead you get a terrible high chair bar table. Awful. I totally refuse to sit in one of those very uncomfortable chairs unless I am by myself and I choose to seat by the bar and make it a quick meal. And it’s not just the seating comfort but also that the noise level in those tables by the bar and the kitchen was so loud it was practically impossible to hold a conversation unless you screamed.
Aside from that, the food and service were outstanding. The menu is very limited if you don’t eat meat, as almost every single dish is sprinkled with some sort of meat product. As an appetizer I ordered the empanadas and they were incredibly delicious. Very generous portions meant for sharing. Good wine list and a solid Margarita. For main course I had the shrimp. Perfect seasoning and intriguing combination of spicy, sweet, citrusy and creamy. Scrumptious flavor. A side of corn that proved to be my favorite thing. Husband ordered a very well cooked chicken that was also served in a creamy, spicy, cilantro and herbs sauce. Flan for dessert that was delicious although a bit too dense in texture. I think this is the best creative Tex Mex restaurant I’ve been to. I’m not a fan of Mexican cuisine but I try to keep an open mind when it comes to eating at good restaurants. And ATX was highly recommended. They definitely delivered with creativity and great execution of dishes. Will come back and make a note in the reservation not to sit me in those high chairs.
Great presentation and food quality . Loud and busy after work crowd. Server was outstanding, had to wait 30 minutes with a reservation... so annoying.
Girls night out before ACL! As always everything was great!
I would love to give this restaurant a higher rating, as the food is excellent and the service very good. However, it is so noisy inside that it is impossible to have a conversation. We've been four times, but will only return if it's nice enough to sit outside.
Would have gotten 5 stars, but they were out of two of the 3 sides on the menu at 7 pm! Otherwise, the food and cocktails we had were wonderful.
Have recommended ATX multiple times since being with you. Want to be inside next time. Ceviche, sopes and fish were wonderful.
My daughter has celiac disease and we love ATX for this reason. The food is a little expensive but always very good. The margaritas and tequila choices are awesome. Makes for an expensive evening though. I think the entrees are overpriced but all I have had has been great! A good selection between beef, fish, chicken and sushi etc.
Best Friday lunch in Austin! The service is sometimes a little slow, but the food makes it worthwhile.
Food was delicious, service was excellent !
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Noise is almost unbearable. Everything else is great.
Great experience except the noise level made it hard to communicate with my friends sitting directly next to me. We couldn’t hear each other.
Visiting Austin for a tour of UT. This restaurant was recommended to us and it was perfect!
No expensive for what you get. Just seemed like a very pretentious place. Gluten-free Mexican food.....No thanks.
Great drinks, great food, great service!!
