A gorgeous coffee shop vibe in the heart of downtown Catonsville. Stop by the Atwater’s Farm Stand inside for fresh seasonal and local produce. An upstairs private event space is available for reservations. Celebrate showers, birthdays, retirements, graduations, or work events with us! We offer fast casual breakfast and lunch options during the week, as well as a dinner and bar menu with full table service Wednesday-Saturday. Brunch table service and specialty brunch drinks are also available on both Saturday and Sunday.

Our main dining room for table service is located on a second floor walkup, however we are currently undergoing renovations to make the space accessible to all. Until then, we will happily accommodate handicapped guests by reserving tables on our first floor and providing them with table service. We strongly encourage guests to notify us of any special requests, access or accommodations upon booking a reservation.

    The menu is not extensive, but everything is done exceptionally well. There is something for every taste. We had the summer salad with an outstanding creamy dressing. For the main course I had the scallops and my sister, who is not a big meat eater, had the corn risotto. The servings were large and beautifully presented. Also our server was very accommodating. Overall the experience could not have been better. Keep up the good work. We'll definitely be back.

    My husband and I both tried some new dishes to us and we were so happy we did! Both the Shrimp & Grits and the Roasted Chicken were so delicious! We also shared the wonderful Gem salad- so fresh and a wonderful light dressing. The chicken was complimented with a celery mix and sauce that was outstanding. We have been many times and never disappointed. Chef Jared visited tables to talk about his specialty dishes which is always a nice touch. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful local restaurant to visit with such fresh ingredients- much grown by Atwater's at their Big Kitchen. It is always a wonderful dining experience and one which we highly recommend. The servers are all very knowledgeable and pleasant. We noticed the chef prepared some special plates for a family with children which was so nice and very much appreciated. It is a must experience!

    I’ve been a huge fan of Atwater’s bakery and coffee shop for years, so I was very excited to see how they handled dinner. I’m sad to report that it was an underwhelming experience. First, the service: When we arrived (party of 4 with reservations) the dining room was empty. We were seated right away by our server and nicely tended to. I wish I could say that the rest of the evening was like that, but sadly it was not. While we were dining, there were a total of 4 tables seated. After the server took our orders, we had to wait almost 45 minutes to receive our entrees and several of the tables seated 15-25 minutes after us received their entrees before us. After our initial pleasantries with the server and our appetizers, we were left alone and unattended to for periods of 15-20 minutes. After waiting almost 40 minutes to receive our entrees and. I check up from the sever, we flagged her down to ask what was taking so long. Her tone was dismissive and condescending when she informed us that the chicken takes 25 minutes to cook, and said she would check with the kitchen. We did not see her until about 10 minutes after our entrees arrived. We did see her standing around and laughing with other staff members quite a bit. We were not happy with that type of service, especially with the prices charged. The food: Overall, the quality of the ingredients was very high and fresh. The watermelon gazpacho was excellent. The summer salad, while very fresh, was quite bland in flavor and the dressing was almost flavorless. My sirloin was beautifully cooked and tender. The reduction was so salty though, that that was all that I could taste. In addition to the super-salty sauce, the meat was salted so it was just overwhelming. My son had the same experience was the same with his steak. The accompanying tomato panzanella was delicious but very meager in size. My wife’s chicken which was a thigh, was delicious and tender, but 25 minutes to cook a chicken thigh?

    Jared the fabulous chef presented our party of 4 with the most outstanding dishes he specially prepared using the freshest of ingredients, much of which is grown by Atwaters. We have been many times and have never been disappointed with the cocktail and drink menu as well as the menu selections. The menu changes slightly in offerings but not in quality and excellence. The "NYC" style decor is inviting and very hip in its simplicity and interest. Thank you to Jared and all of the servers for such excellence- our wait staff was attentive but not intrusive- everything quite perfect!

    A new restaurant, hopefully with a promising future. All of the dishes tried by our party of four were very good, although one member found the wild mushroom risotto a bit too al dente. Staffing appears to be an issue as it is across the industry. There appeared to be one waiter for the entire dining room but he did a good job of attending to everyone, all the while maintaining a friendly and patient attitude. We are looking forward to another visit in the near term.

    As much as I want to keep this as a neighborhood secret I must say that the dinner service upstairs is a hidden treasure! First the upstairs dining room is beautiful, spare comfortable design with fresh local artwork. The cocktails are the most unique and delicious (and I know cocktails) I have had the pleasure of tasting in all of Catonsville. The small plates looked delicious but we went right for the large plates and were delighted with the striped bass, the grilled scalloped and the short ribs. The chef combines unique flavors and textures for memorable dishes. When the table next to us receivesd their salads they looked like works of art themselves, next time I’ll have one. We shared two desserts, a strawberry meringue and a dark chocolate flourless cake, both decadent for opposite reasons. Love that local farms are the suppliers. Planning to return next week!

    Best coffee for at least 20 miles. Very good salad, excellent omelet, and delicious sandwich. Good for vegetarians and vegans. Music low enough that we had no problem hearing each other. What a pleasure. Our server was one of the best I have had in 35 years.

    The food is delicious and the drinks even better. The atmosphere is - as always - tranquil. It's a bit on the pricey side, and the service was a bit slow. Otherwise, I had a wonderful time.

    We enjoyed the evening very much. I am particularly happy to see so many excellent vegetarian choices in the small plates. I thought the striped bass was delicious. We are chocolate fans and the desserts didn't offer much for chocolate lovers. Sadly we weren't tempted by any of them. I am delighted to have dinners back at Atwater's in this newly redone space. The staff is really delilghtful.

    We love the new look, great ambiance!! The upgraded stairway is great! Menu choices very interesting and beautifully presented. Cocktails were delicious!! The spring veg tartine was outstanding, main dishes were good although one came out room temperature. Overall a very pleasant experience, we will be back.

    This visit was not as good as previous ones. My short rib entrée was lukewarm upon arrival, the root vegetables were few and far between, and the sauce was separating. Maybe because it was Mother's Day, although they were not very busy. The rest of the table enjoyed their dishes, so that was good. The noise level, even with few tables, was so loud. We could not hear the other end of the table and we were just a party of 6. They could benefit from some sound-dampening measures. Lastly, while their bread is delicious, it makes a terrible mess. There's no avoiding it. Maybe if they cut the loaf fully, that would help. We'll certainly be back.

    Very quaint restaurant and great ambience. Service was great. Sunday brunch was a bit pricey for the limited menu selection ( 3 courses but mainly breakfast entree selections) but the food was fresh and delicious. If you’re looking for somewhere different to eat where you can relax with your family or a friend, this is a good place to give a try.

    We reserved a first floor table, but it was very loud. Staff turned down the music for us, which was very appreciated. It was a busy day, but food delivery timing could have used some help. The 3-courses were a LOT of food, but it was all very good, and they packaged our desserts to go. I would manage the second floor next time.

    A beautiful spot for our Mother's Day brunch. The service was lovely, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was light, clean, and beautiful. They gave each mom a beautiful flower at the end of the meal.

    Beautiful quaint dining room located on second floor of a historic(?) building in downtown Catonsville. Enjoyed a brunch of eggs benedict and yogurt with honey and granola. Fresh tasty ingredients! Desserts at other tables looked wonderful. We had the delicious brown butter choc chip cookies, served warm (server offered milk too!) In addition to a number of coffee and tea offerings, there was a great selection of both non- and alcohol cocktails. Fresh squeezed oj in my mimosa. Service was excellent. Easy on street parking or in adjacent lot. First floor bakery & coffee shop was hopping. First time for dining and will definitely return.

    Atwaters Catonsville is now next level great in 2023. The food is outstanding, as always, because you can’t beat a place that grows it’s own produce right down the road. Scallops were perfect, which is a balancing act anywhere. Rockfish was outstanding and the roasted carrot starter just right. Yes, the addition of wine is an upgrade. Spanish reds fit nicely. Yes, the new dining room and bar upstairs is as cool as you’d hope from the Atwaters vibe. Yes, the service team are terrific humans, working with smiles through the early days of a busy place adding dinner back into the mix. We’ve missed our dinners at Atwaters during Covid. When you go, bring the unhurried pace you bring to the Atwaters coffee/lunch scene and you will be just as happy.

    This was our first visit to this new restaurant. We were stunned by the noise level when we arrived as we could barely hear each other across our small table for 2. Our bread took over 30 mins to arrive and there were no plates so that we had to place our buttered knives on the table. Our dinner took 1 hr and 15 mins to come and we were told it was because we did not order any appetizers. While the food was delicious when it came, we found the ambience and service so lacking in consideration that we will not be back. We understand that restaurants need to encourage their customers to order as many items as possible but those of us with smaller appetites should not be penalized with longer wait times. I was also taken aback by my scallop dinner when it came - tasty as it was, my $30 dinner plate consisted of 4 small scallops with garnishes and a few pieces of roasted cauliflowers.

    Absolutely fabulous food and cocktails! The new dinner menu is top-notch with quality ingredients, a great presentation, and full of flavor. I highly recommend anyone looking for an upscale meal with the best craft cocktails around to get to Atwaters in Catonsville quickly. We will be back soon!

    We made a reservation not knowing Atwater’s doesn’t accommodate handicapped people. I should have checked as they were unwilling to serve our table unless my handicapped could make the trip up narrow steep stairs. After realizing our party of six would have to self-serve we helped my mother in law up the stairs. That being said, service upstairs was good and the hostess was polite. Their food is bland although cooked correctly and presented nicely, I just prefer a bit more flavor. Coffee was great, as was their latte. I would recommend for coffee/bakery items but not if you have anyone with a disability.

    The bread for my sandwich and that came with the soup were very dry, like day old bread. I was surprised because they are known for their bread and pastry. It was a Sunday so maybe the chief had the day off.

    The Ricotta dishes under the small plate section of the menu were delicious! Highly recommend. Braised Short Rib was melt in your mouth tender. Overall very lovely night out!

    Great service and great food in a beautiful, airy new space. Everything was perfect. The "cigarette" cocktail was inventive and delicious, while the short rib entree was the best I've ever had. Those grits and root veggies. Mmm mmm good. The cookies and milk were the perfect ending. We're lucky to have you in our backyard. Looking very much forward to our next visit.

    Excellent food and very attentive service. The manager also checked in a couple of times to ensure we were having a good experience. Our favorite dishes were the cauliflower soup and chicken entree. The desserts should not be missed, because they were all delicious. The duck and short rib were very good, too and the bread is top notch. They accommodated our needs, which is also greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back.
