Why they're an Icon

From the OpenTable editors: Chef and co-owner Johnny Courtney cooked at the iconic Canlis for four years before opening this restaurant, which has been dubbed one of the hottest in the country by Eater, Esquire, and the New York Times. In a historic Craftsman home painted moss green, Courtney and his team feature local farmers and fishermen in rustic dishes like rosette cookies with sweet onion jam, Dungeness crab on pain de mie, and glazed maitake mushrooms. Pair it with one of the exciting cocktails or a selection from the wine list that includes plenty of representation from Washington.

Overall, Atoma is amazing! The place is elegant and gorgeous – it feels like a cozy single-family home with lots of flowers and calming, cool-olive colors. The drinks are delicious. However, the food overall was a bit too salty, though the flavors were rich and had a lot of depth. For our appetizers, we ordered the rosette cookie and radish cake. I loved the sauce within the cookie; you could really taste the fresh goat cheese and onion jam, and the cookie itself was crispy. The sprouting broccoli was a little too salty for my liking. I really liked the Dungeness crab, which came with toast to pair with the crab. Its sauce had a lovely, creamy texture with a hint of curry and a tiny kick of spice. The pork collar was delicious: the BBQ carrots were seasoned perfectly, and the pork itself was super tender. For dessert, we had the Baked Alaska. The mascarpone ice cream was nicely smoked and paired really well with the carrot cake underneath.

It might be my new favorite restaurant. If you knew how often I went out to dinner, and what type of restaurants I go to, you would understand the significance of that

came here for my birthday celebration and was so impressed with the quality of food and service! I could have eaten just 10 of the rosette cookies with nothing else. Each dish was better than the last!

Exceptional service, food, and value. We loved the rosette cookies, pork cheek, broccoli, and Baked Alaska. The mini cocktail concept is so clever too. Highly recommend!

The Bartender (I didn’t catch his name) gave the best vibes 🙌🏽. We enjoyed speaking with him and I appreciated my Old Fashioned for Ants. Hope to visit again soon!

We love dining at this restaurant. We have had good food and great food over the many times dining at this lovely place. We have dined here twice in the past month. Service was excellent both times, except for one flaw. The server failed to bring out our to go boxes both times. For the quality and price, this is really a problem, considering how much was left of the fish last night and duck in the e d of April. Both times we realised the loss of our food, when we got to the car. Otherwise, the meal was spectacular. Just be aware, like many farm-to-table type places in Seattle, the prices continue to go out almost monthly.

The food was very complex and well done. The staff was very friendly and did such an excellent job describing dishes and sharing perspectives showing they had even tried the dishes and understood it themselves.

The food was creative and delicious. I took the waiters recommendation for the gooey duck radish appetizer, and it was fantastic. Quite unexpected as I’ve never had gooey duck before.
