Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: Chef and co-owner Johnny Courtney cooked at the iconic Canlis for four years before opening this restaurant, which has been dubbed one of the hottest in the country by Eater, Esquire, and the New York Times. In a historic Craftsman home painted moss green, Courtney and his team feature local farmers and fishermen in rustic dishes like rosette cookies with sweet onion jam, Dungeness crab on pain de mie, and glazed maitake mushrooms. Pair it with one of the exciting cocktails or a selection from the wine list that includes plenty of representation from Washington.

    Our indoor dining room offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Reservations are seated at the first available table for your group size. If you have guests under 21, please let us know in the ‘Add a special request’ section when booking, as they are unable to be seated in our lounge. We kindly ask that guests arrive on time for their reservation; late arrivals may result in cancellation, and fees may apply. As we have limited waiting space and a small bar for early arrivals, we recommend arriving just on time. We look forward to welcoming you to Atoma!

  • Outdoor Reservation

    Our patio is a lively, outdoor dining experience featuring the same menu as indoors. Outdoor tables are not covered or heated, though most have umbrellas for shade. These seats are weather-dependent and may be canceled without fees if conditions don't allow for outdoor dining and indoor space is unavailable. We offer blankets on cooler days. Please note that early reservations in peak summer may be in direct sun. Outdoor reservations cannot be moved indoors unless you contact us directly. While we love our furry friends, we’re unable to accommodate dogs on the patio. Thank you for understanding!

    Service is prompt and very friendly - it feels like the staff all want to be there and are passionate about the place. All of the food was amazing. I especially recommend the cucumbers… surprisingly they were unique and delicious! The cod was great as well.

    Service is above and beyond. Staff knows the menu and made great recommendations. Food was a flavor explosion in your mouth. Just amazing. Everything was top quality. Definitely a favorite of ours.

    While the dishes were good, it was expensive for what it was, and for $43 plates, it was not what we expected. The service was lovely, and our server and the employees were wonderful, but the food was a little sub par for the price. The food did not really feel like anything special.

Regarding the food, our pricing reflects a commitment to paying living wages and sourcing nearly all ingredients from small, local farms. This often means higher costs but also ensures quality and sustainability. Our dishes are intentionally composed and focused on subtle, seasonal flavors rather than excess or heavy-handed presentation. We understand this may not match every diner’s expectations, but it’s a core part of what defines Atoma’s approach to dining.

    Second time back. Pleasant experience overall. We ordered the entire left side of the menu (the small plates/shareables) and split an entree. All of the small plates were thoughtfully curated, each with its own flare that showcased the chef’s creativity. The chicken main course was disappointing. The mole sauce was just ok, and the serving size was comically small given the price point. Maybe they should have added a “Chicken for Ants” disclaimer as well. TLDR: get all the shared dishes, they’re fantastic! Skip the chicken, unless you’re an ant.

    We’re glad you enjoyed our small plates and appreciated the creativity behind them. Regarding the chicken entrée: it’s intentionally portioned at 6 ounces, designed to be part of a shared meal. We work with local, humanely raised chickens, which are smaller than industrial birds but far superior in quality. Our menu is built around shared experiences rather than oversized portions, and our pricing reflects both ethical sourcing and fair wages for our team. We understand that might not align with every diner’s expectations, but it’s core to who we are as a restaurant.

    Don't go hungry, portions are small. Excellent presentation and plating. Innovative flavor combinations using high quality ingredients. Must appreciate the subtleties of taste. VERY expensive for what you get, both foodwise and drink (wines are quite expensive, even by the glass and the pours are not generous).

    You arrived almost an hour late, and our team still made accommodations to ensure you could dine with us. It’s disappointing to see such a critical review of an experience we went out of our way to preserve. Advising guests “not to arrive hungry” at a restaurant is perplexing. Our portions are intentionally composed for a shared experience, guests who order appropriately and arrive on time consistently enjoy themselves. We pay living wages and source from local farmers, so our pricing reflects values, not excess.

    We visited Atoma for the first time and had a great experience. The atmosphere is intimate and comfortable, and there were lots of thoughtful touches, from the creative layout of the cocktail menu to the smooth and professional service and cozy elevated decor. We enjoyed the caviar special to start, and from there, pretty much ordered most of the menu between the four of us and enjoyed it family style. Every dish was well-executed and enjoyable; nothing disappointed. A lot of care goes into both the food and the overall experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

    We saved this for our last night in Seattle and it did not disappoint. The service was spectacular, and very helpful in choosing menu items and the restaurant had such a warm and friendly vibe, it was like going to dinner at the house of old friends. But the food was the star of the show (as it should be). Delicate and complex flavors in every bite and just unbelievably good. Don’t miss this restaurant!

    Always good! I would say the pork collar and black cod were much better than week before I visited, however, the rossete cookies a little bit dense compared to the week before.
