The food was pretty good but service was a bit slow. It was also extremely loud so hearing my friends was strained.
We were served by the owner who was charming, engaging, helpful with the menu and even made a substitution for us. My parents really enjoyed their sandwich and soup combo and my power bowl was fresh and plentiful. The Atlas Tap Room is a gem in the SOMA lunch list of options.
Small but efficient. Great selection of food and really good. Our waitress pointed out they had some specialty shots (we were there at lunch). Gotta love her spirit and trust me, if it wasn’t a work lunch I would have ordered one. My group had a great time! Thanks for accommodating such a large number!
The ambiance and food were excellent. My work team (3 of us) came here for lunch with a reservation.
Food: we had the French dip sandwich, Cuban sandwich, and steak salad. My coworkers loved their sandwiches. My steak salad was good, but the ribeye steak was about 1/3 gristle and fat (as they sometimes are). The part I could actually eat was delicious and cooked perfectly. I wish I had felt a little more satisfied at the end of the meal, though! The sandwich portion sizes were larger.
Service was inattentive at best. We were seated promptly but didn’t receive menus for at least 10 minutes (after 2 tables that came in after us). We ordered deviled eggs that never arrived. I asked for water that never arrived. Wait staff tried to give us the food and drinks of other tables repeatedly before ours came out. It felt like we didn’t have an assigned waiter and couldn’t get anyone’s attention when we needed something.
It’s a nice place, but I’m not sure if I would return, due to the service.
The pictures make the place seem much bigger.
It’s a fine casual spot I’m sure but it was raining and cold, the fans and blowers were on full force and the front door was propped open. It was not inviting.
The steak salad was ok. It was cooked to order but had zero seasoning. The waitress was too busy to swing back for anything and we had to wait for some time to get a check. It was a busy week. Don’t oversell or over position what you are and have to offer.
Great casual spot. Got a high-top table and all was good. Impressive beer selection.
Fresh dip was a good call and the nuts appetizer was better than we thought it’d be.
Will definitely go back next time I’m in SF.
Atlas Tap Room graciously accommodated our large group which grew even larger half way through the meal. The family who owns the business showed us great hospitality and the food was tasty. I will definitely be back!
Food was good, ambiance was great but had to keep asking for things, service was spotty
Sat at the bar for a late lunch. I imagine reservations would be a must for a busier time of day. Quaint place, bartender personable but not too chatty. She pointed out that the seasonal turkey sandwich was back on the menu....thanksgiving themed, absolutely delicious. Comfort food but not too heavy! Would definitely return to this place!
The food was good but the service was only okay. They never brought enough forks, knives or napkins for the group and rarely came by to check on how we were doing, even though the rest of the bar wasn't very full.
The place was great, the food was delicious. I am not sure if it was the day or always but everything was a little slow. They were very busy that day so it could have been the day. But other then this, we all enjoyed the restaurant.
We pretty much chose Atlas randomly, since we do not know any of the restaurants in the city. We almost walked out when we got there, since the place is tiny and packed, even at 7:30, and the crowd was mostly there for beer and snacks, not dinner. There are only a handful of tables, but they immediately kicked some guy out since we had made reservations, probably the only ones to do so. The place is highly energetic, so the noise levels are high, but once the food came, we were really glad we stayed. The deviled eggs appetizer was incredible. We split a pear salad, which was enormous and great - lots of fresh pear slices. The hamburgers were cooked the way we wanted, and were wonderful. Service was great - the kitchen staff is small, so their chef delivered most of it. Great service all around. The wine selection by the glass is also good and reasonably priced, especially for SF. So if you are looking for good, reasonably priced food in an interesting, energetic local bar, I highly recommend the Tap Room. Make sure you reserve a table or you might have to sit at the bar.
Amazing place I found via Open Table for a business meeting. We had 11 am reservations and glad we did because the place got busy quick. My group enjoyed all the food they ordered as the service was outstanding. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely go back again.
Staff was very accommodating when our reservation grew by 4 last minute. Danny was our patient and efficient server. Beer was good and cold!
Very good food! Place was packed and had a high energy level!
Exceptional atmosphere, food and service!
Got seated at the window bar despite having a reservation, made conversation with my coworker difficult and undermined the meeting
Our food was delicious. The music was too loud, but overall we were very happy here and would return!
Going to MoMA & dropped in here. What a terrific find! Excellent soup & sandwiches. Beer list great - had terrific porter! Greeted by owner who was friendly & delightful.
Great lunch spor
Everything was delicious! The deviled eggs were a real stand-out- perfectly cooked (not at all overdone,) and with delicious bacon on top!
The food is good but the music was too loud. So much so that the waiter kept asking us to repeat ourselves. The chairs with the high tables are not comfortable. The foot rests are at an awkward height and there's no place to hang your purse.
