Atlas Steak + Fish - Burnaby
Cesar salad was all stem and croutons
Went to Atlas Steak and Fish on a Tuesday for a Father's Day celebration. We had a great experience here. Made reservations and requested high chairs. Everything was set up by the time we arrived. There were bowls for the toddlers which we didn't utilize as we brought our own. It was a little loud in the restaurant but you could still have a conversation without having to scream.
We ordered the mussels to start, 1 of each of the seasonal specials, a tenderoin, the tomahawk and a few sides.
All the steaks including the tomahawk were cooked to perfection. We asked for medium rare and medium for the tomahawk. The seasonal specials says that there were spot prawns but the prawns were very tiny, it would have been better to just get a steak and a side. The sides are a good size for sharing.
All the dessert sounds amazing but we were too full and only tried the salted caramel creme brulee which was very good.
Overall, it was a really good experience.
Nice service and overall experience. We would come back for another occasion
beets were woody but I ate them anyway because the non woody bits were the best ones I ever ate
Fish, prawns and steak were all of amazing quality, as were the potatoes and the rest of the veg although my brother would have preferred them a bit more cooked
We waited a long time for the bread although our drinks came super fast.
The little dessert requested at the end of the meal was perfect in terms of taste and presentation.
Bruschetta was nom.
A bit over priced for what you get. Service was great and the restaurant was nice.
This was our second time to Atlas in Burnaby. The first time was excellent so we were anxious to return. Second time was very disappointing. We ordered the same entree as the first visit, but it was different and not nearly as good this time. We ordered two Caesar salads to be shared between four people, and were charged for four Caesar salads. I had indicated on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday but it was not acknowledged, while a birthday at the next table to ours received a complimentary dessert complete with birthday candle. I don't expect I will return to Atlas again.
Our server was very attentive. The food was excellent. Would highly recommended.
Very buzzy restaurant! Food was tasty - steak cooked to absolute perfection. Loved the Baked Alaska!
We came here for my husband birthday. We were taken to a quiet table that I requested when I booked. Food and service are A+ grade and we had a wonderful here. I will definitely come back again!
We got the $88 3 course dinner for two. My only complaint is that the King Crab legs that came with our seafood grill platter, seemed a little dry to my liking. Otherwise, the meal was pleasant. I liked the lobster bisque, poke dish, the seafood grill platter, and the desserts. We ordered oysters on the side, and they were good. Our server was attentive and likeable. He gave excellent service. The noise level was low, so my dinner partner and I were able to converse without leaning over, or yelling. I still remember the beef carpaccio that I ordered on my first visit. I would order that again on my next visit. I recommend this place.
Fabulous meal and service. Everything was cooked to perfection.
The food was really tasty, especially with the steaks cooked on the Josper grill... Nice hint of smokie-ness.
Also the Pianist was brilliant! He was already playing when we arrived and he continued to play nonstop for the two hours that we were there. No sheet music, just contemporary songs mixed together. Another couple requested Pink Floyd and after a couple of seconds of thinking he played three of four songs. Make sure you tip him.
Gorgeous place, great food. Service was great too. Manager always walks around to each table to ensure a good experience
Excellent! Food was great, service staff was excellent!
Bridget is amazing. I love the GF options. Looking forward to dining here again in August when we are staying at the hotel.
They recommended the pork chop which was not that impressive. The table side salad however was spectacular and taste good.
To celebrate our 10th Year Wedding Anniversary, we were seated on the round table. We felt really comfortable and relaxed. It was a nice romantic atmosphere. The appetizers were delicious. Oysters and Prawn Scallop. Our Tenderloin and New York Strip both were so tender and tasty. It was perfect! Hayley C. our waitress was awesome! She was friendly and full of energy. She checked up on us at the right time. The manager also checked up on us twice. They both made us feel important on our special night. Hayley was amazing! She gave us exceptional service. She even took care of our coffee and dessert to celebrate our 10th Year Wedding Anniversary! It was an all around great dining experience. Definitely an evening to remember. Thank you for taking care of us! Highly recommended!
Good energy in the room with pleasant piano music. Food was tasty - steaks, lamb, crab legs, roasted veg, asparagas, baked alaska and cheese cake. Unfortunately the entres and sides took a while and when presented were on average, barely warm. My lamb and roasted veg were sent back as cold. The three steaks were eaten warmish as the other diners were too polite and just wanted to eat. Atlas is popular and appears to be doing most things right. A couple of our items were comped for the cold service. Nonetheless, a $400 dining experience should never include a presentation of cold food that should be hot. The Vancouver area is blessed with many great restaurants with high quality food and service. I will spend my future dining dollars at these establishments where the dining experience is as expected.
We have a wonderful diner experience.
Compliments to our wonderful server Bridgette. The beef tenderloin, tomahawk pork chop and warm kale & spinach salad are recommended.
Amazing food, amazing service. Our Server Leah was great!!! We will be back
My chicken was super dry I could hardly chew it :( and we were recommended the Mac and cheese which was also dry and lacking sauce. It’s the worst celebrating an anniversary dinner and not enjoying the food - I left hungry. Server was great though :)
I had come here with my husband for my company Christmas party, and we were so impressed we wanted to try it again for our anniversary. As expected, Atlas did not disappoint. The food we had was every bit as delicious, and we were wonderfully taken care of by the staff. Our waitress was Carolyn, and she was perfect in every way. From her wonderful sense of humor, to her constant attention to every detail of our service, she was the highlight of the evening. She was personable, articulate and a joy to have at our table. As usual Atlas delivered above and beyond our expectations. Thank you for a wonderful evening - a great way to celebrate our 13th anniversary.
Second time here, highly recommended. Would be nice to see a little bit more option on menu.
We were celebrating our anniversary. It was great food and service. I wish the kids menu is a bit cheaper. Everything else is amazing.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, friendly service. Presentation of food was amazing and tasted wonderful! I gave 4 stars for food as portions weren’t great for $50 a person for the Mother’s Day brunch we had. It was a set menu and there were 6 of us. My 2 kids got to eat free though it wasn’t portioned for 6, more for 4 so the $200+ bill I think was not worth it. My children tend to eat a lot but didn’t this time as I guess they would have preferred the kids menu. Our server said it was portioned out to the amount of people but for $50 a person, each person I think should have gotten their own plate of food and not served family style. The last time we came we were 6 and they charged us for the extra bread and cheese (which only served 4) that’s why I was hesitant to ask for more pastries during the brunch as my kids ate majority of it. Dessert also could have been improved on as it was cut up fruit with a bit of garnish. Great for the kids but wish there was something else for my mom. We’ll be hesitant to return as a group and won’t be returning for set menus again unless it’s just the 2 of us. I think the set menu would have been a great deal for 2 people but not for a large group. If we return it will be for the dinner menu and kids menu. Their steak is what I was craving for but wasn’t offered for the brunch. My parents who were with us felt the same but our overall experience was good.
After talking to the manager, we got a gift card to compensate our poor experience here. The manager was fair and understanding, so I want to make sure that this is not about their quality of service. Hence, I hope whomever who’s responsible for their menu and pricing reads this.
The Mother’s day family-style dinner was conceptually logical, but execution was extremely poorly done. I paid over $300 for 5 people and one piece of salmon and few pieces of pork chop were served for the entrees to share. Each person had couple of bites for pork and the salmon. Before that there was a platter of 6-7 mini pastries. Cold and small. For desserts, they gave us 2 personal-sized bowls of assorted fruits to share amongst 5 adults.
Overall, the “family-style brunch” had few cold mini pastries, 2 entrees and 2 small bowls of fruits.
I understand that restaurants want to make money for special occasions like Mother’s day, but if they weren’t ready to serve quality food, they shouldn’t have put together a rushed, disqualified menu and called it Mother’s day special brunch. Absolutely the most greedy “high-end” restaurant that I have dined at. Please do not ruin people’s special occasions by misusing their kind hearts to treat loved ones like moms. I’m always up for paying good money for fine-dining, but this was barely even a dining for us.
This is my second time visiting Atlas Steak + Fish. I truly enjoyed both the foods and the quality services offered at this restaurant. In addition, due to the location of the restaurant (in Burnaby instead of downtown Vancouver) I believe the value is very good comparing with other restaurants offering similar menu items. I will definitely go back again for my favourite 48oz Tomahawk steak!
Beautiful atmosphere. A little pricey but still very good food!
We were very very impressed with our experience. Food was delicious! We took several recommendations from our server Nicole. The chilli rub steak and seafood tower were memorable. We will definitely be back!
Dinner went well until we tried to use our OpenTable rebate cheque and the manager erroneously told us the cheque had expired. The manager misread the cheque issue date and confused that as an expiry date. After challenging them there was a long delay while the manager checked with "accounting" and then finally admitted her mistake, but only long after embarrassing me in front of my guests for using an alleged expired voucher.
Tried here down a casual date with my partner. Starters and desserts prepared table side with showy flambe tricks. Quite entertaining If you happen to be the first and everyone ends up staring at your table. We shared the sea food platter, which was good. Can't comment on their steaks however. Would be happy to go back again.
I took my family to Atlas for a birthday celebration on a friend’s recommendation and we weren’t disappointed. The food was great and the service fantastic. Try the table side Caesar salad and flaming baked Alaska. The pork chop, beef and veggies cooked in their special oven were exceptionally tasty. Bridgette gave us excellent and very friendly service. We will definitely go again. A little pricy but well worth it and you don’t have to drive all the way downtown!
Food are excellent
Usually the place is good, but tonight was a mess. Maybe because on a Sunday. Server was great, she kept apologizing the food is taking so long. Manager comp’d is the salad cuz it took more then 30 mins for the order. When our prime rib arrived one was overdone and the other was like blue rare. We didn’t want to bring it to their attention because food took so long already. We ended up packing the blue prime rib and reheated it when we got home.. I think the kitchen was messed up that day.
This occasion was my first time staying at the hotel. Since it was their special I thought I would try the prime rib. I was not expecting such a large portion! It was cooked to perfection. The Yorkshire was delicious too. Everything about the food and service was amazing at Atlas Steak & Fish.
The food was okay. The service was great. I had my bachlorette dinner there and it went really well. Thank you Brooklyn for the exceptional service.
Amazing evening with my family here.
Staff - Sara was awesome. Food was amazing as well. Worth the money we spent. Will be back for sure
We were so enjoy the night for dinner with our two boys, the food, the service and also live piano make us feel like a vacation getaway. The seafood platter and the steaks are the best! We will definitely come again to try out other food!! But the cocktail need more improvement, not many choices . The one on the menu not quite is our favorite!!
I am sad to say that our first visit to Atlas was very disappointing. The service was extremely slow- for instance, even the amount of time it took us to get served our first drink. And the table beside us was complaining to us about the same issue (they had to end up ordering their drink from the host).
We just found the overall experience to be underwhelming. For a dinner that cost us $200.00, we expected the food to be a lot better. We were both disappointed in our meals, and didn't finish either of them . Too bad, since we were so excited about trying Atlas, and we were there celebrating our anniversary.
