I came here for restaurant week and was pleasantly surprised. The food was quite tasty, well portioned and the service was excellent. The space has a industrial feel; typical of Jersey City. I look forward to trying this place again for a regular night or brunch.

Cocktails were poorly made and severed in incorrect glassware. The items of decor “library style” were covered in dust, fixtures near the dinner tables covered in dust all which unappetizing. The back seating area has storage clutter and extra chairs and baby chairs and employees coats and other belongings all in clear view just a few feet from the customer seating area. The staff was very pleasant. The host was not dressed appropriately for dinner service.

Well we were never seated. Arrived for our 9:15pm reservation at8:30pm. Told the hostess we were at the bar and would wait. She never sat us. Inquired several times. Finally spoke to manager who said he was sorry but could do nothing as he has only been manager for a week and a half. Bar staff was spot on. Drinks were great. Too bad we didn’t have dinner. Food looked super. Left and went to the restaurant across the street. Which was super accommodating, friendly and delicious.

Nice service, but the knowledge of how to customize the meal is missing. Would be good to make some of the items on the menu more special and customized. Also there is a general lack of detail to the proper way to prepare some items. Detail is key in pineapple upside down cake - is should be candied if it is supposed to be candied - good donut tho.

Relaxing for Sunday Brunch, great jazz combo playing in the background, but wasn't too loud. Food was great, service was awesome. And be sure to try the Irish Coffee!

I love the space. Especially the lounge area towards the back. The host and server were so nice and welcoming. Beer selection is really good too. The local selection of microbrews is pretty comprehensive. Kane Head High is definitely a highlight of the list. Unfortunately, though, we went there for the food which is where it fell very short. Zucchini chips were dripping in oil. I'm not sure the ricotta bruschetta was actually ricotta...it had the taste and consistency of cream cheese mixed with mayo. $12 for 2 small meatballs was a bit of a stretch. They were the best tasting thing we ate though. The crab croquettes were just fishy and disgusting. I really wanted this neighborhood place to be good. Employees and the space get an A. The food...a D.

Had an awful experience at Atlas. The food was mediocre at best. The Ceasar salad was under-dressed and was lacking croutons for a $10+ salad. We ordered the pork sandwhich which was so grossly overlooked and inedible you could mistake it for rubber (they did comp this rightly so). The T bone steak was worse than what you'd get in bad diner - over salted, excessive pepper, cooked poorly and had to be sent back for more fire, and was a cheap cut. The ricotta appetizer came with scallions which were clearly requested and acknowledged to be withheld but were not. The chicken sandwhich had a small over cooked piece of chicken on it, which had a fatty section not fitting for a sandwhich as it doesn't get eaten with a fork and knife. They served water without ice that was barely above room temperature. We asked for lemon for the water and were brought a tiny single slice even though there were 4 people at the table. They don't have iced tea - not sure what kind of bar restaurant doesn't have iced tea these days which is odd but not a deal breakers.

They do have a decent beer selection and a great space both in the main room and in the back room which is closed except during prime time.

Service was satisfactory. Always could be improved (things like filling a water cup before the patron has to ask mid-entree) but was better than some places and worse than others.

With all the competition far exceeding Atlas within walking distance I'm going to have a hard team even giving them a second chance - but let's see.

This is a good place to go drink primarily. For now I recommmend avoid dining other than an appetizer or two with some drinks. I'm sure there cheese and charcuterie is on point but those are easy to get right.

Appetizers were great- tried zucchini chips and ricotta bruschetta. The entrees really fell flat. A pregnant friend ordered hangar steak medium well, and it came out very rare. Sent it back, and it came back medium rare- red in the center. Took 3 tries to get it even medium and pink. However, this was the only tasty entree at our table of 7. The duck sloppy joe was lacking in flavor, and the burger was uninspired and left several of us wishing we went to Left Bank Burger down the block. Also, we had to ask repeatedly for things- ketchup, extra napkins and water. We poured our own water from a friends purse. Ambience is nice though, would consider going back for drinks and small plates, but not dinner.

The ambiance and service is really good. The menu is ambitious and sets high expectations, the food however doesn't come close to the expectations. We ordered zucchini fries and they were soggy and oily. The coq au vin was prepared with fried chicken. An arugula salad was served as a heap of greens. I'd go back for the drinks and order cheese but no prepared food.

Lots of potential but can tell place needs to mature/work out its kinks. Food was ok though burger was nowhere close to medium rare as requested. Management response was as expected, they remade it satisfactorily. Appetizer portions are small, or from different point of view overpriced for the amount given. Cocktails are delicious though was slow to get 2nd one. As another reviewer noted, tables upstairs are too small for two. Upstairs space is roomier but more vibrant energy is downstairs.

Overall I like the cocktails, menu is varied and has promise but will be interesting to see how they improve.

Real nice place, narrow and crowded on the first floor, more spacious on 2nd floor. Overall food was good except pork chop was undercooked and took 20 minutes to return.

I rarely write reviews, but this new place in downtown JC was quite disappointing. Most importantly, the food was just not very good. Caesar salad was the worst I think I've ever had - just totally bland. Burger was thin and overcooked (though it seems they did use good quality meat and it had a nice char, so it would've been acceptable if it were thick enough to come out medium rare). Fried oysters were just two oysters (on the large side) and smothered in garlic, when the menu said nothing about garlic. Finally zucchini chips were way too oily and soggy.

Service was also lacking, perhaps because we were upstairs. Tables were too small for two people, too, and so the server insisted that they would only bring out two plates at a time. After waiting 20 minutes for the first course, the next course came out just 4 minutes later.

Maybe in a few months they will get their act in order but for now, I'd stay away.

Service was terrible and extremely slow. Water was never refreshed. They could have just left water on table for ourselves to refill. Food was just okay. Waiter was very inattentive. At the end of dinner two of fives plates were removed. Had to wait 25 minutes for the waiter to come back and pick the rest up. The menu on the website differed from it was when we got there. It appeared as per the online menu there were veg options but once there it was very limited. Atmosphere was not as cool as expected. would def not recommend.
