   We wanted to like it. The staff was friendly and helpful, but we couldn't hear anything they were saying - it was very loud, although not crowded. Each dish looked interesting but was flavorless (except the seafood cocktail, which tasted exactly like ketchup and nothing else) and left us disappointed. It seems almost impossible to find a great Mexican restaurant (like they have in CDMX or GDL vs. CA "Mexican-American" i.e. La Cabaña) in Los Angeles. There was no red wine and the "orange" wine wasn't good. The tequila list was very limited.

   I love Atla in New York and I love DAMIAN. I was so excited for the Venice location to open. The only strong item we ordered was the guacamole. The tacos were spars the brisket taco was wet boiled meat and the tortilla was soggy and doughy from all of the liquid. The carrot salad was bitter unpleasant and hard to eat. The mushrooms with salsa verde was slimy and unpleasant. And to top of all of that the service was horrible.

   The space is beautiful as is the clientele. Staff is nice and the food comes quick. Unfortunately we just didn’t care at all for the food.

   Amazing food appropriately priced for its quality. Expensive. Yet the place feels very casual. It was a weird combination.

    Most I've ever paid for Mexican food. Plus margaritas had no tequila. Wouldn't come back.
