I have been a fan of Enrique Olvera's creativity for a long time and it is not the first time that I enjoy his creations. On this occasion, Striped Bass Ceviche, Potato And Cheese Flautas, Summer Squash Salsa Verde, Tlayuda, and Tres Leches Cake, were the stars of our dinner and as always it did not disappoint us, but the attraction of the night was undoubted "Las Carnitas de Pato" accompanied of authentic blue corn tortillas and of course Mezcal Espadin, a match made in heaven and recreated first at Cosme and now in Atla. Service was amazing and contributed to our night for a Great Experience.

This a sublime resto with innovative cuisine you can’t find anywhere else in nyc . It’s also hip without attitude , elegant without being fussy and just a great vibe . The waitstaff are really pro and everything is impeccable .
The portions are fairly small for the price but that was not unexpected. The service seemed confused, as multiple different servers came to ask us about the same thing after someone had already handled it (ordering food, dessert, etc.) The one thing no one asked us is whether we wanted another drink and we had to flag someone down to order that. Overall, a number of the dishes could have had a more robust flavor to them and were fairly mild. The guac was good, the sauce in the Fluke Aguachile was very good and the Suadero tacos were tasty if somewhat simple overall. It was all good, just not quite to the level of reputation of one of the better restaurants int he City.

The hostess said my reservation was for 2 people, but it wasn't (I can see on the pentacle app). Therefore we got stuck at the bar which was uncomfortable for 3 people. Food was good, but too loud and uncomfortable. Doesn't seem like a nice place to work.

It is over priced. If you order around $15 taco, surprisingly you will get only one taco. You know that is not real mexican and it was delicious but not worth for $15 for one taco. Service was good but again we paid $80 for casual lunch.

i thought this was going to have the same quality than Cosme, I tried some of the same dishes and they were poorly executed. For examples the quesadillas and guacamole where not their best. Also if you are going to charge $18 for a mushroom quesadilla it better be outstanding, hopefully ill come back.
I was super excited to visit a place where a Mexican American chef was represented as we lack so much representation in different industries in the US. I started off with a quesadilla which I though needed a salsa with it. The suadero tacos were really good, the carne was nice and crispy though it was a bit to greasy for my taste, I would recommend adding more lime so customers can have a chance to cut through the fat. The enchiladas were PERFECT, I am usually not a big fan of chicken in them but the chicken in these enchiladas was so good. It was a nice balance with the tortilla and salsa verde, also I love how they had three enchiladas the quantity was great. I was very disappointed at the service I received from the waiter, he was rude and condescending and never really checked up on us. Even though I was in a Mexican restaurant I constantly felt inferior due to the service provided by this waiter. I was finishing up my drinks after finishing my food when he unexpectedly gave me the check without me asking, I honestly felt like I was being kicked out. It was so disappointing. My partner also noticed this behavior. Luckily the hostess noticed it too and he approached our table to take the check back and told us to take our time. I really liked the attention to detail that the hostess gave, he was amazing. However, these little things matter in a place where a mexican women should feel confortable and I though I should bring this to your attention because I would hate to know other people like me were given a service that felt forced.

I think Atla was incredibly underwhelming. I had high hopes for it, because Pujol, but the service was no bueno and the food was just OK. Probably would not go again.

Server was awkward and revealed a bit of personal information that was inappropriate in a dining setting. The food was ok, although portions were very small. The mole was way too sweet. It tasted like a dessert taco.
The food was good, however our experience less than stellar. He brought the wrong drink on two separate rounds. The biggest issue, however, was that hair was visible in the food he had just brought to the table and when we immediately pointed it out, asking if he could bring us a new one, he asked if we would be ok with the one with the hair if he removed the hair for us. Cringe-worthy.
Given all the glowing reviews and hype that Atla has received since it opened, we were extremely disappointed by our experience. The small space is uncomfortably crowded, with the round tables so closely placed that it’s impossible for people to get out of their seats without bumping into each other. The staff is neither particular friendly or helpful and so affectedly casual that one would think it’s an inexpensive restaurant, which it is not. The food tastes good but not even close to being worth the prices charged. Atla charges $15 for a single small shrimp taco or $20 for a bean tamal that is about a third the size of a normal sized tamal and only marginally more tasty than what one could find in an average higher end Mexican restaurant in just about any major urban area. There is literally nothing special about the decor, ambience or service to justify the higher price other than the fact that it was created by Enrique Olivera, who created both Pujol and Cosme, both of which are far better restaurants. It’s one thing to pay $250 for a meal for two people, it’s another to pay $250 for a meal and to leave feeling unsatisfied and ripped off. When it comes to the hype surrounding Atla, it’s safe to say that the emperor has no clothes.
We had an amazing meal at ATLA! The service couldn’t be better! I would have given it a perfect score except the sound level is very high. That being said, I would go back in a heartbeat!!!👍👍
Food and ambiance are always phenomenal but I do feel it’s a bit overpriced.
I did also let our concierge know this: Atla was a huge disappointment. A foodie and chef myself, I found Atla recommended on Time Out. I expected to be at least somewhat impressed. They sent the wrong cocktail, the sent one wrong appetizer out of four, the forgot a dish and they recommended a dish that they assured me did not have the one ingredient we said we don’t eat, and it was right on top. The dishes were either too salty or they neglected to season them. The staff was inattentive. We will never patron nor recommend this restaurant. I recommend you look elsewhere. Our concierge told us afterward that they do not recommend Atla for dinner for their guests based on their own experiences there.

Everything about Atla was fabulous. The servers were friendly and attentive and the food was next level. The shrimp taco was the best I've ever had. It's a must-go.
While visiting NYC , decided to try this placed based upon some reviews I had read. Our hostess sat us at the bar instead of st s table, in spite of us requesting a table and there were a couple of tables open. The bar would not have been terrible had not for it being st the very end, where the waitstaff exit the kitchen to the dinning room. I was being bumped into continuously and even had a plate of food skim my elbow.
The resturant itself is pretty plain. It was very load. We could hardly carry on a conversation. The temperature in the dinning room was stiffling, my wife even wondered if they had the heat on in July.
We ordered the bean tamal ,the shrimp taco, and the beef cocina, as well as two different kinds of Margaritas and a glass of white wine.
The hana I was good , but nothing special. The shrimp taco was probably the best thing we ate. The cocina was , like the tamal, was ok, but nothing rememerable about it. I have had dozen of carne asada's in the 7-10 dollar range in Texas that would blow this away. Same for the margaritas, nothing special, in spite of both of them being billed as two of the top in NYC.
Overall, it was our worst meal in NYC in 5 days.

We love Atla, and anything Enrique Olvera has had his hands in. The food here is excellent, and we loved our server. But it’s woeful not to have an adequate air conditioner during a New York Summer! This brought our experience way down.
