Great neighborhood food. Not too fancy, just great to pop in and have something good to eat in a casual setting. Prices are affordable, service is friendly.
Portions are huge! Good balance of flavors created with unique combinations of ordinary ingredients. Southern food with an English pub flare.
Great food and service but noise level too high to really enjoy a relaxed dinner
Went there on a holiday and...server clearly did not want to be there. OK, that happens. Food comes out and fries are lukewarm and hard - probably reheated from an old frier basket. So we ask for more. While we wait we move to the entree, which we split. It was grossly, and visibly, undercooked. And since the entree was split, the sandwich was cut in half in the kitchen so not really sure how that error was not caught before service. My wife took an unsuspecting bite and had to spit out her food, it was that bad.
Went here for Christmas dinner with my husband, the food was meh, definitely not worth $30 a plate. But seeing as it was Christmas, I understand the upcharge. Wine selection was terrible.
I've always enjoyed Atkins brunches, so I learned my lesson and will just stick with that.
We made reservations for Christmas Eve since our family had changed our usual annual Christmas plans.
The staff was so courteous and nice and very attentive to us. The food was excellent as it always is , and we love the vintage atmosphere of the restaurant. I highly recommend the Fried Chicken as well as the excellent wings and calamari appetizers. We also treated ourselves to the Apple Cobbler and Chocolate Brownie desserts. Both were delicious. I have never been disappointed at Atkins Park on Highland! If you haven't been there, put it on your list of restaurants to try.
Friendly staff, casual but classy environment, amazing food that can accommodate a blowout budget or a frugal night out. My date and I shared a fantastic meal for two and it only ran $25, and there was more food than we could finish. Really versatile and delicious menu, and honestly their basic house burger is among the best I've ever had.
Only thing to keep in mind before visiting is that parking can be tough to find at times, but that is just a notice, not a demerit.
Absolutely returning for more soon.
The service was great, the food not so much. Then we moved into the bar area to meet up w/some friends. They allow smoking in the bar, it was so disgusting & gross we were horrified & smelled like an ashtray when we left.
Very efficient and traditional fixed Thanksgiving dinner - felt like home - friendly attentive service - nice selection of craft beers
Very cool local spot we stumbled on. We had their thanksgiving dinner special. Loved the charm and overall experience.
Service, food, experience was absolutely on point!
Quiet setting in my favorite window table. Server Blake was friendly and attentive. And as usual, the food was delicious and inexpensive. Great place.
food usually good here but one entree chorizo potatoes and eggs just fried, overcooked and greasy - couldn't even distinguish different foods,
We went for Brunch. Food was delicious, atmosphere relaxed and fun.
Always love coming to Atkins. Used to hang out there in my 20’s and 30’s...now for the occasional brunch or what not . Still has that great vibe! Friendly staff as always. Righteous Bloody Mary!
Excellent service. We had a gluten-free diner in our party and the staff was very helpful in presenting options. They also went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable. I had delicious fried chicken strips on my salad of field greens. The dressing was slightly sweet and the chicken had a bit of spice that set off the sweetness nicely. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the food and the beer options and was very friendly. We are visitors to Atlanta and enjoyed the restaurant and the ambience.
Don't eat dinner here. Food quality was very poor. Salad greens served were clearly too old and dressing was tasteless. Trout tasted like it'd been in the freezer too long. Veggie plate was way overpriced and poor quality. Tomatoes seemed right out of a can and succatash was just some beans with herbs thrown on top. Okra was good however- and the grilled asparagus too...but only a few skinny spears. Salmon on sandwich was way undercooked though was requested well done.
Good aspect: Server was very pleasant.
Sweet server. Enjoyed our time.
The restaurant side was deserted and the service was just so so. My burger was overcooked and the sweet potato fries limp and soggy. There is an unappealing smell of stale beer and food.
Great Father’s Day dinner experience. Food was great and we had our 3 year old granddaughter with us. The kids menu was inside the cover of a Where’s Waldo book. Our server was attentive and helpful. All good!
Great meal with great service. Will definitely go back.
Mother’s Day. We waited an hour and twenty minutes for our food. Once it arrived one of the meals was incorrect so, our wait to eat was even longer.
The server did his best to appease us but he was in the weeds so, his attentiveness was poor. Slow greet, slow to get drinks, and really slow to let us know our meals were going to be an issue.
The manager barely stopped long enough “apologize” and tell us there was a buyout and the kitchen was backed up. I would advise not taking reservations when you have a buyout!
I can forgive the server as he has no control over the kitchen. The manager handled things poorly and the experience was not good.
Absolutely delightful Mother's Day Lunch. Very reasonably priced. OutSTANDING service by Annie. Food is incredible but the attentive service makes it even better.
Excellent brunch or dinner, the menu is always rotating, fresh and in-season. The service is friendly, the feel is "all about the neighborhood". Highly recommend whether it's your first or fiftieth visit.
It was Mother’s Day brunch and super busy but our server was excellent and the food was delicious.
We love this neighborhood place that we can walk too! They always change the menu by the season. Great variety on the dinner menu and always the old standby’s on the bar side. 3 out of 6 us us were doing Keto and loved the great options for us to choose from.
Everything was just excellent! My kid's enjoyed brunch and loved the old timey feel of the building. We got our food pretty fast and it looked and tasted Amazing.
The service was among the worst I have ever encountered. The attitude of the staff was somewhere between unconcern and rudeness.
Went here based on reviews of great food and in our experiencethe food was really good, especially for the price point. Would absolutely recommend for a casual meal.
I used to live in the VA-Highlands area and had good memories of Atkins Park and wanted to return for a meal. First off, the food was very good, it was just the matter of getting the food that was an issue. When 25 minute passed after ordering and everyone who arrived after us was eating, we had to flag down a waiter to check on our meal. They seemed to be very limited on waitstaff. Later, when ordering dessert to go, it took another 30 minutes to get that as well. A very gracious manager comped us some coupons for the inconvenience. But the real insult was later that evening when we went to eat dessert and found raw apple pie in the go-box. Yes, uncooked dough and apples. Really?! Won’t be coming back.
Great meal with wonderful combination of ingredients. Good beer list too!
Great menu! Everything we ordered was incredible! The smoked wings were amazing!
The food was very good and creative brunch options. Coffee was decent as well. Service was alright. Definitely want to try more items on the brunch menu and would go back for dinner. I recommend the chicken and pancake sandwich
Got seated right away. Waitress waited on us quickly at first, then had to hunt her down for everything. Took food 45 minutes to come out. Brisket was gristly and gross. Never came to refill water. Long wait for check. Would never go again.
The food was good, but the noise level (and groups of drunk patrons) are a bit too much to handle. I will probably never go back here.
Enjoyed our meal and the ambiance at Atkins Park on a recent rainy Saturday night in Georgia. It was our first time to dine there and our server was very helpful in offering meal suggestions. Our burger, sweet potato fries and nachos were delicious and the portions were gracious. Parking was tough to find since the restaurant is in Virginia Highland.
We made our reservations through Open Table. When we arrived at Atkins Park we were told that “they didn’t have us on the list.” I showed the hostess my confirmation email and she still responded “you’re not on the list.” We were seated but not pleasantly. Not sure where the communication breakdown happened.
Family Tradition! Exactly what we wanted!
