Off the beaten path. The food was surprisingly delicious. Loved the tiny cornbread muffins, the beat salad and strawberry salads were wonderful. Shrimp and grits are a must.
wonderful food, fresh and cooked to perfection. tables were full but somehow - perhaps the layout in 3 rooms - the noise level was minimal - perfect for reconnecting w good friends. lighting and ambiance classy neighborhood feel -not “ white table cloth formal” :)
Great Food, Great Service and Setting. NOT a chain type restaurant. They go the extra mile, the plate taste goes the extra mile. Extremely Satisfied, will return.
The make-your-own bloody Mary counter was certainly one of the highlights...food and service were excellent! Will be back on my next trip to NOLA!!
Great food and great service. Ambience was nice even though the space is a little small.
Fabulous kick off for my son’s first visit to NOLA. We love food and Atchafalya set the bar high!! Amazing food, scene, music and staff! Thanks y’all!!
The restaurant is in a nice building. My pork chop was tough and seemed overcooked. I had asked the waiter before ordering if the chop was tender and of course he said yes. My wife enjoyed her shrimp and grits. The desert tart was tiny. The wine wasweld chosen by the staff.
A little disappointed, as the restaurant didn’t let us know that the band would be gone by our reservation time. However, they were accommodating, as our group had an extra two people who weren’t accounted for in our reservation. Food was excellent, just wish we knew about the jazz band times so we could’ve scheduled accordingly.
I love this restaurant! Every time I have guests come to town this restaurant is a must. I always order for the middle of the table Bananas Foster Waffles and some grits. Then everyone can try something other than their meal. Great Bloody Mary make your own bar. Plus a full bar!! It’s all amazing!!
Bloody Mary Bar was AMAZING!! It was the perfect brunch spot! Def recommend.
We had a great meal, fried chicken, shrimp and grits. The beets in a cloud were amazing. We will be back.
My husband has been here before and he was anxious for me to try the food and Bloody Mary bar. The whole experience was delightful, will be back again when we are in town.
Great space. Started with a very cool host, who was accommodating when we changed our reservation. Food and service were great and true to the theme of the chef. We will go back for sure. Nice to get away from the quarter once in a while.
Wonderful food. I enjoyed the restaurant very much
Another NOLA gem! Shrimp and grits! Everything wasn terrific!
Great innovative New Orleans Cuisine. Away from French Quarter
Dana was fantastic! As was the food! The bar tender really knows his stuff! Hope he gets to become a Somelier!!!
I was so looking forward to this dinner, as it was our last night in New Orleans and I had heard great things, but we were very disappointed in it. We were seated upstairs, which would have been nice, except that we were put next to two tables full of men who seemed to be at a bachelor party or similar. We were told that they were "out of the chicken and pork" but sure enough, though the men showed up and order after we did, the guy seated next to me was eating the pork. The service was eh, the food uninspired -- the fried green tomatoes were not crisp, the shrimp and grits not hot, the crawfish in the fish stew overcooked. the duck fine.
We all found it disappointing, and, considering all of the fabulous restaurants and fantastic service in New Orleans, I wouldn't recommend it.
We went to Atchafalaya for brunch on our last day in NOLA. What an amazing meal to send us off. Clearly we may not be the only people to stop here on the way to the airport as the staff was incredibly accommodating of our luggage (which others seemed to do as well!) As a table, we had the Chicken and biscuits, burger and an open faced empanada that were all AMAZING! HIGHLY recommend!
Fabulous shrimp and grits
We had a very nice dinner at Atchafalaya. Nice to see the ongoing changes to the menu, although they really need to bring back the fried chicken on chicken confit dish (best fried chicken dish ever...). Great neighborhood location, not for the light of wallet.
We had dinner here to celebrate my sister's birthday. Our server was great. The mini corn muffins were amazing a little jalapeno flavor with honey! At our table we had the shrimp and grits, the double cut pork chop, and the Airline fried chicken breast. All were DELISH! I would highly recommend Atchafalaya. The only disappointment was that my sister's birthday was not acknowledged in any way.
Excellent meal and service! Highly recommend. They are really killing it right now.
Service and food was outstanding. Great ambiance and nice brunch place.
Our table was perfect in the upper front room. We could hear the wonderful music but were removed from it a little. Our brunch was scrumptious! Very fun and friendly atmosphere.
We had a wonderful Saturday brunch. Loved the Bloody Mary bar. I had the duck hash and we shared a side of grits between four. Best grits ever. My vegetarian sister had a delicious tomato soup and a wonderful salad. Highly recommend!
Delicious and nicely plated cajun/creole cuisine. Friendly and helpful waitstaff. Restaurant is in a historic house with smaller multiple dining rooms in the charming Garden District. This was a return visit for us, and we'll be back!
I went with some friends for dinner. The service was lovely, but I was underwhelmed by my dish. Not to say that it was bad, but it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. I had the pan fried duck. My friends both really enjoyed their dishes which I was able to taste and really were very good. The cocktails were also tasty. Overall I had a wonderful time in this cozy spot. It's good for groups but also a great place to take that special someone for a special date. Would recommend.
Wonderful food and ambiance. Steak was perfect and the blue cheese 'flan' was incredible.
The perfect taste of New Orleans! My boyfriend and I went for brunch when visiting the city for a long weekend. We were impressed by the fun atmosphere, complete with live music. The food was quite impressive. Some of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had.
Love this spot! A must go-to while visiting New Orleans!
Great food at a great price! I highly recommend it.
Great flavors ... highly recommend
It was our first time dining at Atchafalaya. The food and service were outstanding.
Terrific and much better than expected in every way,
Excellent food and excellent service!
Had a fun and yummy brunch during out weekend visit to New Orleans. Loved the Garden District and this fun restaurant was a great stop after a morning shopping Magazine Street.
Loved all our food and cocktails.
For being a first timer to NOLA, this place is quite off the beaten path. A lot of food blog research was involved to find this hidden gem but I think my parents were quite surprised when I told them we should come here for brunch. All of us were very impressed with our food choices.
The chicken and biscuits were HUGE. You are literally served half of a chicken. My low country Benedict with eggs was outstanding. A lot of flavor and just the right amount of heat. The brunch burger was rated 8/10 from Papa Bear. The Bloody Mary bar is fantastic. $11 for a Tito’s Bloody Mary and $12 for Grey Goose.
As far as ambiance and atmosphere, be ready for a hipster/trendy vibe. It’s very opulent. The art work on display was amazing to look at and overall a cozy but bright dining area. Atchafalaya attracts a younger crowd.
As far as reservations go I had a reservation for noon. We were seated behind other groups and about 15 minutes post reservation time. I understand friday is busy for brunch, but why make a reservation if we have to wait anyway? Don’t understand the logic there. Would come again just for the food if I was on that side of town.
The service was very good and the food was delicious!!!
I was late ( because of construction on La Ave) and they gave the table away-- understand. We were seated within 15 minutes though -- at a perfect table.
The decor is eclectic. Very interesting. Our server showed up every 15-30 seconds, which was quite annoying. It was as if she were trying to rush us out.
Some of the food was good; some was ok. My deconstructed pasta with crab was delicious. My vegetarian entree was not--- everything cooked and over cooked. Gumbo was good. My partner liked the fried chicken ($28!!).
Go for the New Orleans neighborhood feel but be aware there is nothing healthy on the menu.
Our beet dish was the lavender honey thyme ice cream
