The service was very good and the food was delicious!!!
I was late ( because of construction on La Ave) and they gave the table away-- understand. We were seated within 15 minutes though -- at a perfect table.
The decor is eclectic. Very interesting. Our server showed up every 15-30 seconds, which was quite annoying. It was as if she were trying to rush us out.
Some of the food was good; some was ok. My deconstructed pasta with crab was delicious. My vegetarian entree was not--- everything cooked and over cooked. Gumbo was good. My partner liked the fried chicken ($28!!).
Go for the New Orleans neighborhood feel but be aware there is nothing healthy on the menu.
Our beet dish was the lavender honey thyme ice cream
Delicious, so many great menu choices
Great service and excellent food. Wonderful addition to our NOLA vacation.
Truly gastronomic experience. The service is excellent from the moment you walk in to when you leave. The food quality is excellent. Highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.
After spending over $300 for 2 of us and truly enjoying our evening it all came crashing down when the owner said he was in a predicament and needed us to leave our table so he could seat someone else. BOOM! If you decide to go, eat and drink slowly, and order one desert even if you don’t plan on eating it so you stay off the owner’s clock...one and done.
Went for Sunday brunch and had a great time. The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere is very charming, and the band and jazz singer also were very good. We made reservations ahead of time, which I strongly recommend, since there was a long wait for those who didn’t.
Incredible food. Wonderful service. Highly recommend this restaurant for brunch in New Orleans in the Garden District.
We dined at Atchafalaya for Sunday brunch. Checked in with the hostess and she seemed highly stressed and kind of disgusted with people. We were happy to go to the bar and and order a bloody mary and take advantage of the beautiful bloody mary bar that they offer. We enjoyed our bloody mary's and our table for 5 was ready 20 minutes after our reservation time.
We sat and were kindly greeted. The service was good. We never once had to track our server down and she showed up at all the right times. We ordered a variety of dishes. Standouts were the cream cheese grits (the stuff dreams are made of) and the chicken and biscuits. My husband must of enjoyed his duck hash because he ate every morsel on his plate.
The burger also seemed to go over well with the table. Everything we ordered was very good.
Will definitely be back to check the dinner menu at some time.
Best shrimp and grits I've ever had!
Atchafalaya never disappoints. We make a point to dine there whenever we are in town. Our waitress Monica was lovely and very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. The blue cheese flan was a standout!! Shouldn’t work but it does.
Normally an all 5 star experience. Today the house Bloody Mary mix seemed watered down and the band, while very cool and eclectic, was super loud. I like live music, especially in New Orleans but I couldn’t have a decent brunch conversation without screaming. I’ll be back because I know it’s a 5 star experience- just not today.
Went there with a bunch of friends while we were in town for a wedding and had an awesome brunch! Really great food with some cool local specialties, and an awesome bloody mary bar
Always creative. One of my favorite places. Great place to take people from out of town for unique New Orleans food.
Awesome food, great service, really nice people! As an ex-local, highly recommended
Best restaurant NOLA
Great food, wonderful music, fabulous Bloody Mary bar and excellent service
Oh my gosh do we love Atchafalaya! We’ve eaten there a few times, and have been delighted each time. I love the quaintness of the space, like you’re dining in someone’s home almost, at the edge of a wonderful neighborhood. The staff is great. Both the brunch (Bloody Mary bar! Creative dishes!) and dinner (shrimp & grits! Fried green tomatoes! Fresh fish!) have been amazing top to bottom. I’m not really a dessert person, but the apple tart tatin we recently had was buttery delicious. We will surely be back again on our next visit.
My Daughter attends LSU and we were in Nola visiting her and attending Mardi Gras. The food and drinks were excellent. Fresh Grouper, Duck, Filet, and Shrimp and Grits were excellent. The Beet Salad was also very good
The five A's were well earned.
Even the bathroom was lovely. And the art adds "visual candy" to the experience along with the live music. It isn't often one feels blessed after having a meal. You will after Sunday brunch @ Atchafalaya.
