I have eaten here many times and last night was a terrible experience. We get to the restaurant at 8:15pm, 15 minutes before our reservation at 8:30pm and wasn’t seated at our table until 9:00pm. We watched countless groups get seated before us with little to no explanation. I guess making reservations is a useless service.
Food was amazing!
This was a great spot for brunch! We had the Eggs Atchafalaya and the Chicken and Biscuits - both were delicious. I’d definitely recommend Atchafalaya.
Went there on our vacation for our birthdays. Friendly efficient service, all dishes for branch very good, flan with blue cheese was memorable!
I took my mom and Aunt here when they came into town and it was a very good meal. They had the fried chicken and I had Redfish both of which were outstanding and the wait staff were top notch. My only qualm was the noise level. We came during the dinner rush and it was very loud which made it almost impossible to talk. I’m sure other times of the day/evening would be fine. Overall great experience. Will definitely be returning!
Fabulous restaurant. IF you are in town for a meeting, it's a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the quick taxi/uber ride. One of my favorite meals in NOLA
Second visit. First time was great. Second time saw the kitchen misfire on 3 of 4 entrees. Chewy duck and mushy shrimp. Thursday evening.
Food and table service excellent.
Bartender not friendly.
We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in - the outside isn't too much to look at and it's in a neighborhood with no other restaurants around. But the inside - the food, service & atmosphere - made for a very nice evening. Vegetarian and/or vegan options are almost non-existent, but I made do with a large tasty salad and another starter. Would highly recommend.
On vacation. Got the recommendation from a friend. Highly recommend! It was absolutely worth it.
One of the finest dining experiences you can find. The shrimp and grits are outstanding.
Delicious! We stumbled on this place 2 years ago and have been back every time we visit the area, and recommend it to everyone. Great food, excellent service!
Atchafalaya is a favorite of mine for the last 9 years. Their menu changes, but the experience only gets better. We had a large group reservation and felt well taken care of and well fed. Thank you!
The shrimp and grits were excellent though I didn’t really need to see the heads and tails to believe they were fresh gulf shrimp. The biscuits were a bit heavy made with an alternative flour. Very pleasant dining experience. I would definitely go back.
Best shrimp and grits I have ever had, and I have lived all over the South! Great service, excellent Bloody Mary bar.
What a wonderful meal! Spin on classic southern foods. The waitstaff was lovely. Make sure you make a reservation...it’s crowded for a good reason ;)
This Restaurant it’s one of the best in Nola. Their creamy grits, beet salad, and blue cheese flan is a must. The staff is so nice and personable that I’m recommending it to all my friends and colleagues.
Our dinner was stellar from start to finish. We were greeted by the owner, shown to a private room, and treated to the best food a person could hope for. The Atchafalaya Salad was a standout, as was the friend chicken, and the vegetarian plate. Our waiter introduced us to the chef and pastry chef over the course of the evening. The staff were fun and friendly, the food outrageously good!
Always, always, always enjoy our meals at Atchfalaya. This place never disappoints!
Great local restaurant, amazing food and service. Perfect for all occasions.
We were running a little late because of the rain, but called ahead of time, no problem. Great live music. The best shrimp and grits anywhere! And best of all, Will, our server could not have been more friendly or accommodating. He previously lived in New Zealand, so he made us some flat whites. Great service! We cone back here every time we are in town.
Great as usual!
This was the best meal we had while in New Orleans. If you want local cuisine but at a high quality please leave the Quarter and make the short trip. Good was very high quality and the menu was diverse with something for everyone.
Outstanding in every respect! Notably friendly and attentive server. We’ll be back
Very friendly service. Nice atmosphere and excellent food. The raviola, beets, and pork chop all outstanding!!
Shrimp and grits were awesome! The restaurant is noisy but worth it!
We were a party of 8 people who meet in New Orleans once a year. We make the rounds at various restaurants each time and Atchafalaya was outstanding.
Everyone commented on how it all came together.
Simply amazing. Great feel to the place. Food was astonishingly good.
It was our first visit. We have our children in for weekend. It was wonderful and have already reserved a table for next weekend
It was a pleasant meal but nothing notable. The oysters and gumbo were good, the tuna was ok.
Good food, good service, just really noisy..left with a headache
This place is solid. Consistent food, great atmosphere, and wise creativity with the specials. It is a quick cab/Uber ride from the French Quarter and better than most restaurants there. All the locals love this place. Don't hesitate, book your dinner reservation.
We had a wonderful evening. The host was gracious, our food was delicious and artfully plated with very satisfying portions, and we enjoyed our server’s friendly and attentive hospitality. We look forward to visiting again the next time we’re in the Big Easy.
This restaurant never disappoints! You will never be sorry you chose this a dining experience with top notch service, food and dining ambiance. I frequent this restaurant for all occasions!
We had a really wonderful gluten-free friendly meal was excellent service. Would highly recommend for a special occasion. The price was high but well worth it.
My wife and I ate brunch on Apr.9. We had the Duck Hash/Poached Eggs and Low Country Benedict. Tremendous. Can't forget the cheese grits. Probably the best I've had. The service was prompt and professional. My wife really liked the decor.
I"ve been going to NOLA since the early 80's and there are lots of great restaurants and this is one of them.
This place is amazing. Must go here when in Nola. Great southern food and ambience. Owner and staff were incredible. Thanks for making our dinner so fantastic!
Friend visiting
This was probably the best meal I have ever eaten in New Orleans. I had a black drum dish that was spicy and had an excellent sauce. The breads, desserts, everything was excellent. The three other diners who came with me all had different dishes and they also thought it was one of the best meals they have ever had. The wine list was generally quite expensive, but there were wines in our $40 price range that were just fine. The place is small, so reservations are a must. I also wouldn't recommend big parties. Most tables are set up for two or four people.
The eggs atchafalya were absolutely sublime. The fried green tomatoes and eggs combined with the warm chunks of crab was heavenly!
