At The Table was absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend! Chef Alex is very talented!! Our 8 course menu was amazing! Will be back soon!
Excellent pacing of the good. Good portions. Overall amazing. Would highly recommend this gem in Wayne
I brought my girlfriend here on a spur of the moment after looking at the reviews we decided this was our place tonight! Everything was amazing! The Clam Chowder is so aromatic! And they even pour the chowder Table side! And the squab sauce was out of this world packed with flavor! The lamb!!!!! Seared perfectly with such a nice crust! Even the dessert was beautiful! A rose apple tart with raspberry sorbet!!!! We’re definitely going to be back real soon!
We attended a special tasting menu with chef Jason Hook. What a treat!
Jason created an incredible six course meal where every single dish was outstanding. Pumpkin-seed crusted sweet bread, duck confit tortellini, foie butter on toast, Lancaster-raise squab... we were blown away. We actually got Jason and his crew to sign the menu and plan to have it framed.
Alex, the chef, continues to inspire. Having a guest chef was a creative idea that was expertly executed. We will keep returning to At The Table.
Amazing all around!!
We had heard things about this restaurant but it was almost too hard to believe considering it wasn’t in the city but man, are we blown away. First and foremost, if you do not like food this is not your type of place. However, if you enjoy an intimate and very romantic dinner with your loved one then this is THE premiere destination. Located on the corner of Louella court this hidden gem is almost too good. The chefs are kind and very sweet and get this that beautiful girl who you called the owner, well that woman is the one also searing your fish!!! (My wife didn’t believe me). 6 courses of nothing but incredible flavors and omg are those truffles on the tortellini incredible or what. Fun fact: At The Table BYOB has been open since 2016 and I’m afraid that’s if it keeps going this way, that hidden gem may almost be too impossible to get into. Diners: get here now and if you are really nice to the chef, they may put you on the VIP list so you always have a spot... thank you for the spot on details, the glass of champagne and the most amazing meal I have had since ... well as I told you in person “The French Laundry”
It is a prefixed meal. The size and food was fine but a lot of cream. My problem was that the whole time that we ate ,the a/c shot down on us making us and our food cold The waitress tried her hardiest to remedy the problem but without much success.
The noise level due to a small room made speaking and hearing very difficult.
Wayne, PA, has already earned a reputation for many excellent dining experiences but At the Table raises the bar to a whole new level! It looks like a small, local restaurant you would find on the Isle Saint-Louis in Paris and the cuisine is as imaginative and exciting as any you would find in New York or Paris. This is a must-do destination for any foodie within 100 miles!
We love this place! Terrific plates top to bottom throughout the menu. I think it’s the best BYO in the western suburbs.
I have been to At The Table before I can’t remember the service taking as long as it did Saturday. The entire meal from sitting down to leaving was 3 hours? There are 6 courses, you have a choice of 2-3 per choice which leads me to believe each course should not take to long to prepare? My main course, Duck, was cold, the flavors were out of this world. Since I do love the different selection of excellent food I will go back for sure and recommend others to try it. I am writing g this review because of the length of the meal and the temp on my main course.
Do try it, it is worth the experience.
Our first time at At the Table did not disappoint! We went on a Saturday evening and it was a 6 course chef's tasting menu. With each course there was a choice of 2-3 options. The food was amazing and each dish looked like a work of art. The restaurant is on the smaller size and intimate, and everyone who works there was friendly and very accommodating. I've pictured below the cauliflower steak with tahini dressing, crushed peanuts and pickled jalapeno -- soooo delicious (this was my third course)!
Excellent cuisine in a side street in Wayne, PA We had the six course prix fixe which was outstanding. It was spaced out between courses so that we didn't get 'stuffed' and could enjoy the varied taste sensations. This is a fine dining venue at the highest level.
Creative menu, beautifully executed, with personalized service. A neighborhood gem.
At The Table is as good as it gets! Atmosphere pleasant, food is creative, pleasing to the eye and delightful to the palette. Highly recommended for anyone who is a "foodie", and BYOB offering is another positive. Chef is personable and takes the time to meet and greet his guests - another strong plus. We look forward to returning.
Overpriced and not that good tasting. I would not go back again
Amazing small plate menu. Price fixe. Cash only so come prepared. Menu is inventive and presentation is spectacular.
Wonderful meal, (Tara: Chef and Owner) came out to say hello to us, she was a delight. The Shima Aji was out of this world and the mushroom toast ... omg seriously. I love the way they do the tasting menu and where do you get these ingredients!! Wayne, if you cannot tell by all these reviews... get here before you cannot get a seat. Oh and good news, our server Adrianne told us that they are starting credit cards very soon. Love this place.. good luck guys
Everything was absolutely delicious. The best and most interesting meal I’ve had in ages. Have recommended it to several friends already. My only suggestion would be that they make it known that a 3 course option is available. The 6 course pre fixe wos fabulous but more food than I needed.
Great dinner and the added Birthday touches for my date were much appreciated. She said it was the best food she'd had in a long time (and she's a foodie, so that really says a lot). Highly recommended!!
As always, our experience was perfect!!! Love this place!!!
I love the idea of tastings. It gives you a chance to sample a little bit of everything. It would have been much more engaging if the servers presented the plates and told a story about how it was prepared and where the ingrediens came from... making it more of a tasting experience.
The food was tasty but some of the ingredients were the same from plate to plate. The duck was very tough and fatty. They should make it more of a duck loin.
It was very loud!, but a lively atmosphere! Definately not suited for a quiet date or a conversing dinner whether business or personal.
The bathroom door lock did not work so every time you went you had to be concerned about somebody walking in.
It could be a gem and maybe just needs some tweaking. Over all it was a nice experience. The servers were extremely friendly and made sure we were well taken care of.
Had a fantastic dinner here last night. It’s a small place and might be hard to find if you don’t know where to look, but you should take the time! I was nervous about committing to the chefs tasting menu but so glad I decided to go for it, as the items were imaginative, interesting and so, so delicious. Many were items I might not have tried otherwise, and each portion was sized just right to allow you to enjoy it all and not be overstuffed. The mushroom toast was so delicious and the lobster papperdelle was... omg... ok I am dreaming of more just writing about it. The menu changes frequently, so I’m looking forward to going back to taste whatever flavors the chef cooks up next. Highly recommend for date night, special occasions, dinner with friends, or just because you’re worth it.
OMG... tuna and foie gras was to die for, 3rd visit and we just can’t get enough of this place. Chef came out, said hello and took the time to walk us through the menu.. easily the best restaurant in the area. Please don’t ever leave!
The Tasting Menu is a delight, original, correctly portioned, and thoughtful. Location is quaint and private. The ingredients are presented well, never haphazardly, the dishes are playful and fun. If you are looking for an evening of conversation over tasty food and their presentation this is the venue and a must try. These dishes are daring, and you can taste the love and intellect behind them. I would consider At The Table a destination, not a stop.
My wife and I dined with At The Table on Saturday night and I can safely say it was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. From the Amuse Bouche to Dessert, you could tell these chefs/owners really love making food exquisite and unique . Go here, go here now before you can’t get a reservation. Bring wine, sit back and enjoy the show. Congratulations Tara and Alex! We will be back!!
Awsome meal! Loved every course and can’t wait to come back:) a must try to those who haven’t
This was by far one of the best dining experiences I have ever had—in any city, in any country—perhaps even the best. The new summer 6 course tasting menu was sublime—every dish. Each dish contained many flavor nuances—almost different in each layer. The service was spectacular and friendly, and one of the two owner chefs told us something about each course before it was brought out. It is tiny, so make a reservation I can’t wait to go back.
The food here was phenomenal! Unfortunately on this evening the service was not and we were told repeatedly that they were short staffed. The servers were very apologetic which was nice but we sat at the table for at least 25 mins before anyone came to open our wine and offer us water. Hopefully this was just a bad night for them. The food was worth the wait though!! Also, when I made the reservation on open table I was not informed that they only do a tasting menu now. I was told when they called to confirm the reservation a few hours before. $75.00 tasting menu and cash only. Keep that in mind!
My second visit. Our first was so yummy, we came back a second time with friends. They were very short staffed, so the dining experience was different. The server, Adrian was very personable, kind and apologetic for the delays. The chef is still very good and produces creative and delicious courses. We enjoyed everything. I would add the crab roll was just ok, compared to all the other courses.
They made some changes and decided to do away with the a la carte menu and only offer a chef tasting menu, which I'm a fan of, however, that needs to be updated on OT and their website, especially when you are cash only. Also, if you go chefs tasting only, definitely offer the most current menu online. At that price point diners want to know their options, esp. with allergy concerns. Overall I like this restaurant and would recommend it to friends. I wish them success with working out logistics, they have alot of potential.
The staff was clearly having an off night, but for the price, as a diner, I expect more value. Service is equally important to food and on this evening, the surface was lacking. Instead of focusing on excuses for the service, focus on the execution and trying to ensure diners are cared for or enticed to come back.
All that was available was the 5 course tasting menu and it was $75 per person which is very expensive. Each course was very small, I was still hungry afterwards. The last time I was there the tasting menu was an option, but you could order off the menu and I liked this much better. The food was good, it just was too expensive and not enough of it.
Very small portions of average food for an exorbitant $75/person, cash only. The owner is very friendly, but the food was a disappointment. Portions were miniscule and we were all hungry after the 5-course prix-fixe dinner (after paying $375 in cash for 4 people).
Service was distracted--it was very crowded and there weren't enough servers, just the owner and 1 other person. We had eaten here previously and it was really good, but this time was a real let-down. Sadly, we won't be returning.
Made last minute reservations here. Was excited to find somewhere with a tasting menu and byob. Showed up half an hour early but was immediately seated. The chef Came out and explained the menu. He was so energetic and excited about what he was doing. The food was amazing. I’m definitely coming back.
We had a wonderful dinner and experience. Alex and Tara are such great people and their food is so amazing. We will return soon.
Not as fantastic as my first 3 visits. The "tasting menu" scam is getting old, so we ordered a la carte from the "tasting menu" without the prices listed on the individual choices. If I knew some of the prices in advance I may have opted for another choice. BTW, the venison was OK, not great.
We enjoyed our first evening and look forward to more visits.
This is the only "high end" restaurant we've discovered on the Main Line that compares favorably to Alba in Malvern, although we like Silver Spoon. Apparently it opened 2 years ago. We just learned about it. A little cramped (or intimate). It has a limited menu which is probably a good thing because everything was exceptionally well prepared. Fois Gras venison and oysters were especially good.
Amazing tasting menu. BYOB too. Cant wait to go back
Delicious food, particularly considering other suburban alternatives. But it is quite inconvenient that it is now cash only.
