The food was amazing, the experience was great. It was nice meeting other people and the service was exceptional. I'm sorry to hear they are closing.
We are sorry to hear that they are closing in April. A unique concept, wonderful food and we will miss it.
Wonderful restaurant! Love Chef Gina! The food is always excellent! Stephen is great too!
This is one of the best values for going to “Italy” and staying right in your own backyard. Gina has to be one of the nicest, friendliest chefs in town and that’s goes without saying her food will place you In a state of taste bud heaven. This is authentic Italian and from the moment you enter her quaint restaurant you feel you’ve been transported into a small ristorante in Tuscany. The wine list is grand and for many wines not normally seen in Louisville. Her place is not to be missed .
From the time we walked in and were served a glass of prosecco, to the mingling with other guests, and finally the meal itself - the experience was fantastic. The food was wonderful, but the atmosphere was what set this dining experience apart from any other.
Gina never disappoints. Her food is delicious, and the atmosphere is fabulous. It truly is like being in your mothers kitchen, if your mother was a knock out Italian cook!
She and Stephen made our large family group feel welcome. We all left with a full belly, and great memories
Cramped into a small room I enjoyed meeting new people but I believe it is seriously overpriced. Granted it is unique. Several places I could spend a lot less for and get as good or better . Very nice owners and service good and friendly but a lot of money is all I can say
Fabulous for a family dinner or 5 couples celebrating a birthday or anniversary.
This is a quaint, tasteful, cozy little place that offers a wonder dining experience for just the two of you or 10 of your closest friends. The staff is warm and extremely welcoming. True Italian experience from the food; to the music; to the red wine pairing. We absolutely loved it and had a marvelous time. I highly recommend!
Thank you so much for your lovely review! I hope that you'll come dine with us again soon!
Such an amazing experience!! The food is fabulous. We will absolutely go back.
Thank you so much for coming to dinner, I'm so glad you enjoyed your experience with us!
Great atmosphere, amazing food, awesome chef/owner. Love this place!
Thank you!
Had very loud group that made evening less than pleasant.
Most fun I've had at dinner in a long time. The family style seating provided for excellent rapport with other guests. The Feast of the 7 Fishes was a wonderful delicious surprise. Portions were perfect, I felt full but not stuffed after dessert. I'll be dining there regularly.
Thanks so much Rachel! I'm glad you enjoyed dining with us and so glad we could help you celebrate your birthday!
Very cool place! We’ve been here a few times. Grab some friends and book!
I cannot recommend this place enough. The entire dinner experience is unlike any regular restaurant. From the time you enter the door, it is as if you are visiting your Italian aunt for a family dinner.
We were run through the meal options, and helped to select a great Italian wine.
There are two large tables that seat around 8 people each. It isn't an intimate, private dining experience, but we had such an entertaining time with the people sitting with us. Great people, great food, great experience.
Each course of our meal was prepared with exacting precision, and the preparation lifted the ingredients to a higher level. We had a clear view of the kitchen which added to the experience.
One of our initial courses was a pasta dish in a Mariana-style sauce that was one of the best I have had anywhere in the world.
Our entree was an incredibly tender roast served with creamy mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts.
Dessert was an explosion of flavor with mascarpone, cherry, and who knows what else.
The meal culminated in, unbelievably, Christmas carolers who were making their way down the street. They entertained us with two songs before heading back into the night.
Again, you won't find another place quite like this, so do not miss this opportunity. Just make sure you leave plenty of time, as this dining experience will run a few hours.
At the Italian table is the most authentic Italian experience you can have in Louisville Kentucky. I would suggest that one make a point of hosting a party there.
Hopefully the owner was just having a bad night. But our group will never return.
I'm so sorry that you didn't fully enjoy your dinner with us, I hope that you'll try us again.
We had such a fun experience At The Italian Table. Food was authentic and delicious! Wine was perfectly paired. And atmosphere was energizing. Chef and staff very friendly and accommodating. Cannot wait to return here.
At the Italian Table was a HUGE hit with our clients and friends! We had amazing food and wine, great conversations and laughed all night! Highly recommend!
Lovely, warm and celebratory space with hints of Italy. Very friendly staff and chef. The ricotta bruschetta and arugula salad was delicious. The wine (not included in cost of the evening) was super. The pasta course was very tasty in an interesting pasta shape, but was needing something...broth, acid, more tender pasta? Something. The chicken Marsala was good. It seemed like a good, well executed, basic dish. I think we were expecting and hoping for a bit more creativity and flair and for the dishes to have that ‘wow’ moment for the price and the wait to get reservations.
My husband and four friends were excited to try At the Italian Table restaurant since we had been told very good things about other friends' experience there. We were pretty disappointed though. For starters, we were seated around a table set for 10 guests but it should've only seated at most 8 guests. We were very cramped and kept elbowing our neighbors, and my husband was hit in the head by the waiter several times as he walked behind us serving food. Second, the food was not anything special. The pasta course was the best part of the meal, the rest I could've made myself. We were told by the waiter that cannolis were on the menu for dessert, which we were all looking forward to, however when dessert was served my friends and I were sorely disappointed to see a bowl of whipped cream topped with raspberries and biscotti crumbs. Finally, my husband loves craft beer and looks forward to having a beer or two when we dine out with friends. At the Italian Table only serves wine and spirits though. We've been to Italy twice and know they make great beer there. It would be nice to have at least one beer option on the menu for those that don't care for wine or hard liquor. For these reasons I can not recommend this restaurant to our family and friends.
Great environment. Staff pleasant. Enjoyable evening.
We had a wonderful experience! We had been wanting to have dinner here for over a year and it exceeded our expectations! We will definitely come back.
Love the Italian Table! Such a wonderful night out!
Amazing authentic cuisine in a great atmosphere similar to a family setting. We sat down with strangers, but left as friends. It's goes beyond any hype. Go - now.
The food was fantastic and it is a very small venue with two large tables so the noise volume at times can get loud. Our only problem was we wish we had invited another couple to go with us. It was a little awkward sitting family style with other couples and trying to find things in common.
Great food and and a great experience overall
We celebrated our anniversary At the Italian Table.
It is wonderful for a special occasion! We enjoyed sitting at a communal table and talking with the other guests. It was a great experience!
We went to the Italian Table for my birthday dinner. Having never been we were excited to go. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s worth the money. The salad was good as was the Grilled lamb. But the rest was just okay. With that said we thought the dessert has to be delicious....not at all. Probably the most disappointing part. Mousse with a fig and tiny crumbles.
Would not go again.
Lovely all around!
Wonderful! The food was fantastic and the service impeccable! It was an experience that we enjoyed with our friends.
Our party of 8 had a fantastic evening and we all enjoyed meeting the lovely couple who completed our table for 10. The food was delicious - I was terrified of trying lamb, but I'm so glad I kept an open mind! The meal was expensive, but I thought it was priced fairly for everything we received.
One of the most incredible dining experiences ... like dining in an Italian family's kitchen.
This place is amazing. High touch service and wonderful authentic food. We went for a work team dinner and took up a whole table - there are two 10 person tables available each night so if you have a small party you’ll have to sit with others. FYI it is a bit expensive but definitely an experience you can’t have elsewhere. Highly recommend!
My party does not drink. It would have been nice to have been offered something to drink upon arrival while others were given complementary glasses of wine.
Amazing experience for my birthday! The food was OUTSTANDING and it was relaxing enough that we didn’t feel rushed and we got to “hang out” and have a luxury meal
This was our second time here and it was delightful. Wonderful! Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. Hoping to take a cooking class next! Enjoy!
As advertised, small setting. Remarkable food and hospitality.
A fun, festive evening. The food was good and nicely presented, but the menu was not as creative as we expected. Bread was delicious, home made pasta was also very good.
It was simply fantastic!
