We went to the Italian Table for my birthday dinner. Having never been we were excited to go. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s worth the money. The salad was good as was the Grilled lamb. But the rest was just okay. With that said we thought the dessert has to be delicious....not at all. Probably the most disappointing part. Mousse with a fig and tiny crumbles.
Would not go again.
Lovely all around!
Wonderful! The food was fantastic and the service impeccable! It was an experience that we enjoyed with our friends.
Our party of 8 had a fantastic evening and we all enjoyed meeting the lovely couple who completed our table for 10. The food was delicious - I was terrified of trying lamb, but I'm so glad I kept an open mind! The meal was expensive, but I thought it was priced fairly for everything we received.
One of the most incredible dining experiences ... like dining in an Italian family's kitchen.
This place is amazing. High touch service and wonderful authentic food. We went for a work team dinner and took up a whole table - there are two 10 person tables available each night so if you have a small party you’ll have to sit with others. FYI it is a bit expensive but definitely an experience you can’t have elsewhere. Highly recommend!
My party does not drink. It would have been nice to have been offered something to drink upon arrival while others were given complementary glasses of wine.
Amazing experience for my birthday! The food was OUTSTANDING and it was relaxing enough that we didn’t feel rushed and we got to “hang out” and have a luxury meal
This was our second time here and it was delightful. Wonderful! Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. Hoping to take a cooking class next! Enjoy!
As advertised, small setting. Remarkable food and hospitality.
A fun, festive evening. The food was good and nicely presented, but the menu was not as creative as we expected. Bread was delicious, home made pasta was also very good.
It was simply fantastic!
Wonderul, authentic Italian food. The experience is such that you are there for a private dinner party. Very accomodating for dietary restrictions. Highly reccomend!
This was my fifth time at the Italian Table. It was my girlfriend's birthday. (Hi Jesse.) This time we booked a table for 10 people. Just when I think the experience can not get better - somehow it does. We were greeted at the outside patio with a cold Prosecco and warm greeting. Inside the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. Gina and her team put together an amazing meal with excellent wine choices. The service was on point - attentive but not overbearing - in true Italian style. She is an amazing cook and extraordinary hostess!
Important reminders - the restaurant has two tables - both sit 10 people. If you have less than 10 in your party, you are joining a table so bring a smile. The meal is pre-set - you have no choices - but what you get is better than what you would have selected. The course servings are at a thoughtful pace - time to enjoy your meal and not be rushed. I plan on a 1 1/2 to 2 hour experience.
A great place for a group of friends to celebrate.
This was our second visit and it was as amazing as the first. The passed appetizers were awesome, cheeses, meats, bruschetta with distinctive flavors. Service was professional and courteous. A lovely sidebar is the interesting people you get to meet sitting next to you as seating is "family style". Would return again and again.
We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary in our party and had been looking forward to our evening at Italian Table for a few months. The restaurant is quaint and the service was good. However, we were all disappointed with the meal. The first course was panzanella salad and was fresh tasting. The 2 cheeses were ok, but not enough provided for the table. I was on the far side and received 1 small slice of the 2nd cheese by the time the plate got to me. We each received 1 baguette slice with the ricotta cheese, which was good, but again not enough. The pasta course was a huge disappointment. The portion was very small tr m4khiand ft4unit was tomato based with cheese. While it tasted ok, to be the main course truly was a let drwas ssa cf own. The dessert was good. Considering this meal for 4 was $200 without any
The restaurant is quaint and the staff of 2 worked hard to both cook and serve but the wait in between courses was long. The food was ok and the pasta portion was literally the size of my fist. Having spent time in Tuscany and loving the experience the Italian Table does not come close. We drove 1 1/2 hours and went home and had pizza!
I don’t have enough to say about this lovely home. We were only in Louisville for a few days for a conference. I’d heard about this place from a neighbor in Oklahoma. She had said how wonderful the food and atmosphere was. We booked it several weeks out and it definitely did not disappoint. It literally feels as if you’re a guest in someone’s home, passing around food, laughing, just enjoying the moment. Stephen was all smiles and did everything he could to make you feel at home. One of the most memorable times in my life. You’re missing out if you don’t experience this place. The food was incredible and you’ll wish you hadn’t tried it sooner. Great job!
Steven welcomed all with Prosecco under the arbor followed by an exceptional and easy to enjoy meal. Two tables of ten meant that there was some mixing with others at table which went well because of the festive atmosphere & friendly clientele. Each course was great unto itself & built to a satisfying but manageable overall meal. Wine was well chosen with help again from Steven. Altogether a delightful evening for all.
We loved our experience at the Italian Table. I was worried about sitting at a table of strangers but it turned out to a very pleasant experience.
I would and have recommended The Italian Table and we look forward to returning ourselves. We were celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary
We were disappointed with our visit this time. We have been before and that visit was definitely four stars plus. Comparatively, June 19th’s dinner was surprisingly average. Although main dish was tasty (this is after all The Italian Table), it was just a pasta bolognese, which we could get at Olive Garden for 1/3 to 1/4 the price. At our prior experience, we were greeted with Prosecco outside, then a 4 star+ meal inside which include both a pasta course AND a meat course - delicious!
Don’t get us wrong, we are still fans of The Italian Table. But as such fans, in our opinion last night was not up to The Italian Table’s standards which made us want to come back in the first place.
everything was incredible. food, atmosphere, wine selection, and service.
The idea is great. The set up is great. The service is good, the knowledge is good. The wine was great. The food was not very good, a soggy bread salad, only two different cheeses, barely enough assorted meats for the table. Then a pasta course in the house ragu that was overly salty and a small portion. Dessert was good. Not worth the money
Going here was like being back at my Nonna's house. From the smells, the wine, the food, the loud family style conversation....everything about this place is awesome. The staff is great and very knowledgeable. This will be a staple in restaurant rotation.
Wonderful place for a communal dinner--while the food is outstanding, it is always fun to eat at a communal table and meet new people. That was part of the fun of being here! The food was delicious and the servings were plentiful. We will be back for sure!
Fun experience. Food was simple fresh & good. Enjoyed talking to the locals!
Always wanted to try this place out. The chef was very friendly and nice and talked with us throughout the whole dinner. The food was delicious. Will definitely be back!
This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in Louisville. Gina and her staff went above and beyond to provide fabulous food and great service. We’ll be regulars here!
What a wonderful experience! We took our family there after the Kentucky Derby to celebrate our son’s graduation from UK! Prior to our reservation they contacted us and made sure we were all set for our experience. From the moment we walked in to the time we sadly had to say goodbye we felt like we stepped into a quaint villa in Tuscany! We were greeted with Prosecco and delicious appetizers. Our table was set with new friends to meet and the Italian wine list excellent! All of this was amazing but the dining was truly so delicious I savored every bite. Exquisite flavors and served with timing perfection! The Italian Table is a must and we will definitely go back!
Wonderful dining experience! Gina and her staff have perfected the perfect Italian experience. It was like being in someone's home! And, the food was superbly prepared and served!
Wonderful guests. Staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. It’s always a pleasure to spend an evening “At The Italian Table”. Great value. I’ll be back again and again. As a city, we are so fortunate to have this little gem.
What a gem for the City of Louisville! Gina the Chef/Owner makes you feel like she’s personally taking care of you-because she is! Intimate 20 seat restaurant is quite a find. Service is outstanding, wine list excellent and food is delicious! If you can grab a seat I highly recommend trying this gem!
This place is fabulous! The food was so delicious and plentiful. That atmosphere was comfortable and interesting. The wine list had a nice selection and was reasonably priced. It was just a lovely dining experience. I would go back in an instant.
