At The Hollows is a restaurant in Chester, situated in the suburb of Hoole just outside of Chester; hosting a unique dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere.

The concept is really about bringing the social aspect back to dining, with everyone so busy these days, people do not often get the time to sit around the table, enjoy a glass of wine and fine food. We want people to come to us, sit down, relax and catch up with family and friends whilst browsing through our menu and ordering a variety of small plates to taste and share, whilst embraced in stimulating conversation.

We visited for a friends birthday on Saturday night and were excited as we've been before and it was fantastic. On this occasion, our drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive, we weren't served our food until we had been there for over an hour and the service was generally very poor. At the end, we asked for the bill only to find that service charge had been automatically added (the there was only 5 of us dining!). We asked the waitress why and were told that it was an accident and it wasn't compulsory; we felt that this wasn't fair as some people may have paid the service charge without realising. We were also told that the evening had been a shambles in the kitchen and that there was no manager on the shift. It was such a shame because the food is so good here and the service shouldn't let the place down.

This restaurant had a great atmosphere, welcoming service was good, and great decor. The food was good and filling, you do not go home hungry.

We had friends staying for the weekend so booked well in advance. On arrival, we were informed that there was a private party booked so we could not be accommodated. No apology, just some mumbling about OpenTable not working. Try getting a table at 8pm anywhere on a Saturday night in Hoole! We ended up with a takeaway. Very disappointing.

This is definitely one of my new favourite restaurants. The service was amazing and the food was delicious - excellent value for money (especially with the prosecco). Intimate and not too noisy like other restaurants.
