   The salad was fabulous--interesting, fresh and perfectly dressed! The chicken liver mousse was terrific--really creative use of ingredients--bllood orange, edible flowers. Definitely will go back!

   Food is AMAZING, although service and ambiance are not even close... We had a concert to attend and even we had more than plenty of time had been chasing our server for drinks, food, wine even our dessert showed up as we were walking out to avoid missing our entrance to music hall. There is improvement to be done clearly!

   Some portions are small, unlike the prices they charge. Pavlova was on the dessert menu. But instead came 3 small white meringue kisses and some interesting sauces woven onto the plate. This must be their biggest money maker, as it cost less than $3 in ingredients to make up this dish. My friend returned the coffee, as he said it was unpotable. Not sure I'd return.

   The food was incredible. The servers were friendly and attentive but food was served in an odd order and not uniformly considering the prices and “fine dining” experience. Drinks (cocktails) were delayed and incorrect and coffee didn’t appear until after dessert was finished leaving us to drink tap water with our desserts. $275 for 2 people so we were expecting the experience to be more organized.

    Food was okay, a little overpriced. The service was inconsistent. It was interesting to see how we were treated versus the older patrons. It was a little loud when we first got there, but later it settled down. The drinks we ordered were delicious. Unfortunately, it felt a little pretentious.

    Last time we were seated against the wall so it was not too noisy. This time we were seated in the middle of the room so it was difficult to hear each other. The mushroom dish was terrific, as usual. The citrus cake was not good. The prawns were tasty. Need bread with some of the dishes to mop up the yummy sauce.

    It is clear that the effort is to provide a lovely dining experience at Asterid. The space is beautiful with gracious and spacious seating and a quiet dining atmosphere at an earlier hour when we we there. Each of our small plates was well prepared and enough for two. Usually, small plates add up to a bit of nutritional confusion but not here. The bar also makes an excellent martini.

    DineLA menu was delicious, although the strawberry shortcake fell flat. We added the Caviar bites (tamale base was a but overpowering) & lamb Shank (wonderful) from the regular menu. Staff was attentive. It did get a bit windy outdoors & I could've used an extra heat lamp but overall a lovely experience.

    Split the delicious pancake and the pea salad. There was a small amount of peas in the salad , but it was delicious. The presentations were beautiful. You bet I would go again, but I will bring a cushion for the chairs the next time.

    WE ordered the special brioche with octupus and it was two little rectangles with a very undistingushable filling. The lamb was very heavy, and there were few other choices. Service was very good and they seated you without insisting that everyone be there, which was a problem we had the last time we went there. One member of your group is stuck on the freeway, and its too bad for everyone. However, they did not have that policy yesterday.

    Fabulous night last night in Asterid. We were there last year for the first week of opening and last night for the first birthday! We loved Broken Spanish and Asterid is like a grown up version in a beautiful location

    Liked what we ordered. But Small /limited menu. And no flexibility on selection. - chef would not permit any amendment to the dishes listed. For example - too much dressing on the salad. - request for chicken well done - we were advised that the chef will not prepare it this way. - we requested bread - and were advised that the chef does not offer bread unless we order the liver mousse appetizer. - well if the chef does not provide flexibility, then we can find another fine restaurant who will be more accommodating. - value is not the object - ability to enjoy the menu is the issue.

    Lovely wine, lovely bread. And that's about it. We ordered a scallop crudo to start for $22-24. It did not even contain one full scallop! Some citrus avocado dressing (delic) on top of seashells. At least it was yummy, because the next dish was a $42-44 branzino that barely yielded three bites - and was completely overcooked. After reading a stellar review in the LA Times about this place, I was quite disappointed.

    Asterid is one of the greatest restaurants that I have eaten at in a long time. Phenomenal culinary experience and everything was exquisitely presented and absolutely delicious. The only downside is that it isn't closer to where I live.

    The lightly fried maitake mushrooms with turmeric aioli is outstanding. The switch to Hokkaido scallops made the yuzo kosho avocado mouse, etc. dish more perfect.

    Hello. My family and I came for the concert. I thought we had reservations for 4 but somehow only 2 were on the books. The reception fella was quite rude to us. Then we tried to pay with the Cc but it wouldn’t go thru although there was plenty credit on the card. The food was excellent the waitress great.

    Our first visit. I have fond memories of Patina, in the same space, from years back that led to some trepidation but the food was outstanding. In our case that would be the the chicken liver mousse, lamb and roast chicken. The flavors and textures were uniformly superb. I did not think the music played added to the ambience and be sure to specify tap water if you are not interested in a $9 bottle but my partner and I both left delighted by our pre-theater meal.

    The food was beautiful, and some items were fantastic, but more than half the items had overpowering rather than balanced flavors, and the menu was very citrus-heavy, making it feel unvaried. The cocktails were good, but were light on alcohol. The servers seemed to rush us even though the restaurant was empty and I indicated several times that we wanted to take our time. The waiter also struggled to give any actual recommendations besides scripted answers when asked about the menu. That being said, the hospitality/front of house staff were very attentive and friendly.

    Better than ever! Service was extraordinarily good, especially compared with previous experiences. Food was outstanding! All courses were excellent, but lamb shank stood out as exceptional. Some interesting choices for wine by the glass. Both Mexican wines (Chenin Blanc and Grenache) were distinctive and paired very well with all courses.

    Excellent choice for pre-concert dining at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Terrific food, attentive service, friendly vibe and top-level ingredients, wine ETC Very enjoyable … I look forward to returning there for another meal experience.
