Fageros studied jazz guitar since the age of 13 and has performed with some of the great jazz legends of our time - Luis Gasca, Gary Burton, Marion Booker Jr., James Carter, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and others. His musical direction draws from guitarist Roy Buchanan, Larry Coryell, Pat Martino, George Benson, and Wes Montgomery etc. Now, in this mostly trio setting, Fageros serves up a simmering dose of tasty cool jazz that spans from the 60’s into an atmospheric groove of the new millennium. Some people might say 60’s jazz is “old people's music”. Not so when Mike Fageros plays his guitar. Because Mike has mastered his instrument and respects the intimacy of this music, which he so admirably executes with passion. They released four CDs. Their music has been played around the world on the internet, satellite, and terrestrial radio stations. Formed back in 2007 by Bassist/Bandleader, Ron “Fatkat” Holmes, Jr., they are now known for their intelligently energetic and unpredictable shows, creating a formidable reputation for this jazz-funk-world infused band. fo/mo/deep groove is rooted in the experimental school of the 70s…a time when jazz, soul, and funk were one and the same.
