Friendly server with honest recommendations ("I'm not sure why you'd want a waffle when you could have a biscuit"), outdoor space with beautiful views, food is just interesting enough to be foodie friendly without being pretentious

Fantastic lunch after shopping at Annie's Annuals for several hours. We enjoyed truffle fries, yummy, fish tacos, delicious and a citrus beer salad. Every thing we ordered was very tasty and artfully presented. My friend and I both enjoyed their extraordinary iced tea. I don't often comment on iced tea but this was just plain home brewed iced tea that you don't often get in restaurants so it was especially enjoyed. The location a bit off the beaten track but after you find the place a wondrous view of the bay. We enjoyed a beautiful clear sunny day so we could see for miles!! Can't afford to
Miss this place for lunch if you near Richmond.

First time to this delightful place next to the Rosie the Riveter Museum in Richmond, CA. Ate outdoors on a beautiful day with a beautiful view. Interesting menu, reasonably priced. Service was good. Look forward to returning.

This little gem is tucked away but such a great location, and great ambiance, I drive out of my way to go there. Bonus - a pass to get into Mountain Hardwear. Oh, and the oppourtunity to take a walk along the shoreline. Win, Win, Win!

I have dined here many times in the past and have found the food to be predictably good and plentiful but a bit expensive! That being said .....it is a reliable comfortable place to have a good meal with good friends!

They really need a floor manager to direct the servers, who seem kind of lost/wandering around. It was a late lunch and the servers seem much more invested in closing up activities than serving the few customers there. The online menu never matches the in restaurant menu (so either label the online menu as "sample menu" or don't poset a menu online at all).

Too many small glitches the last few times we have eaten there. We do not plan to return.

If it were not for the ambiance and food, I would give this establishment a 1 star. Their service is consistently poor. This last time, we had to seat ourslves, get our own silverware, ask for water 3 times, get our own sauces and etc. It was as if we worked there. I keep going back because I have such high hopes for this place!

Food was delicious. I enjoyed the chunky clam chowder and Citrus beet garden salad while my husband enjoyed the burger and fries. We sat inside but nevertheless enjoyed the view and the ambiance. Wish we had time to take a walk along the pedestrian paths outside. Will go back.

Great restaurant hidden on the Richmond waterfront. Great lunch after visit to Rosie the Riveter National Park next door.

Nice eclectic menu with something for everyone. Good prices. Lunch items were very tasty. Burger, catfish sandwich, fish tacos. Tasty fries.

Would definitely go again.

Several friends gathered for lunch but we were not able to get separate checks. We were told that we could use no more than 2 credit cards and it must be evenly split. I would never go there again with a group because this made it very complicated.

Although this restaurant is sort of "off the beaten path" it is well worth the drive. The food is excellent, seasonal, healthy, and delicious. The drinks are awesome...especially the Bloody Mary. Definitely worth it.

Wonderful spot next to Rosie the Riveter Museum and the Bay Trail. The old Ford assembly plant has been transformed into a modern eatery with lots of light to go along with an open ceiling showing pipes and circuits from an earlier time.

I loved the assembly plant remains polished and left as decor for the restaurant. Fascinating and so unique. I love the we got a pass to the employee discount clothing store. We shopped till we dropped. I read the menu online and was all set for frito pie but no frito pie the day I was there. Next time.

Too much cilantro! Why do restaurants think cilantro in coleslaw is universally appreciated?
Sandwich buns are too sweet, meat & fish portions on sandwiches are small. Nice salads, aps, deserts, friendly service.

Beautiful day but all outside tables were closed. We had reservation, but, the noise level inside was deafening. Hostess quickly took cover off outside table. Service throughout was excellent, as we were only diners sitting outside.

We stopped here for lunch after a walk because they have a patio and allow dogs. The view is nice, but the place illustrates the adage that there's an inverse correlation between view-niceness and food-tastiness. I had the seafood louie salad, which was mostly lettuce, with a couple stingy slices of avocado, two or three cherry tomatoes, a couple of cold mushy asparagus stalks, a small piece of slightly old, overcooked cold salmon, and a few shrimp. They brought a "homemade vinaigrette" on the side which was pure olive oil (ok, maybe a drop of vinegar visible at the bottom). When I asked for a better-mixed batch they did not seem to understand, and brought me back the same one as far as I could tell. A server--indeed, a human being--who doesn't know about oil and vinegar seems like a bit of a liability for a restaurant. If you just want drinks and a view, this place is pleasant. Go somewhere else for good food.

Portions are not very generous and there seems to be something missing. My sausages were hot but my scrambled eggs were cold (and hardly any). The toast was cold too. My friend ordered the shrimp dish and it was not filling. It almost felt like after brunch/breakfast, we needed to order a dessert or something to fill up.
The building is super cool. The tables are really nice. If you spend $25 or more, you get a pass to Mountain Hardware employee store, which we did go to and spent a couple of hundred dollars on. :)

I have been there many times and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and courteous. They are also very professional.. The location is fantastic.. we need more of these and the best of all my dog loves it on the patio where dogs do meet as well and everyone is happy and well behaved..
I would also recommend their made to order pies when come the holidays..
How about Happy Hour Friday night??

Second visit, and we again found most of the food a tad light in flavor [chicken-apple sausage, waffle, home fries] -- but the French toast was tasty, servings are ample, and the atmosphere, location, and staff are all winners. We'll be back.

Overpriced and not very good food. I paid $17 for an overdone, tiny chicken fried steak and about 6 cubes of potatoes. A total rip off. I wouldn't even mind if it tasted good, but it didn't. I don't eat eggs, so I left hungry - the server didn't offer to substitute fruit. We actually ordered some toast before we got the check because we weren't satisfied at all. The service was good, very attentive, but there was almost no one in there and I can see why. $65 for brunch later, we will not be back.

The usual, same old/same old. Their online menu never comes close to their in house menu. To go for the online menu is to be disappointed time and time again. As always, too few severs for the number of customers. So expect slow service, no matter how much running around the limited number of servers are doing. What this place needs is much better management. That is someone who actually knows how to run a restaurant.

Have dined here once before and boy have things changed for the worse. Made a reservation for Sunday brunch and requested outside seating due to bringing dogs with us. Tried for five days to confirm outside seating but nobody answered the phone, the voice mailbox was always full and their extension list was non existent. Decided to go anyway and we did get outside seating but had to push for a table in the shade on a very warm day. In general the staff seemed disinterested and in need of adult supervision. Asked for water with no ice and was brought water with ice and told to deal with it. Placed order and when our food arrived the server dropped it on the table and disappeared without asking if we needed salt and pepper, jam for the toast or ketchup. We had to flag down another server to get these items delivered while our food got cold. Both of our eggs were runny and under cooked, the bacon and sausage was under cooked and the some of the potatoes were still raw. As I mentioned before it was a warm day and no one ever tried to refill our water. After we were done I went inside to see if there was a manager to relate our experience to but there was none in sight. This is a beautiful location but this place is in need of someone with much higher standards to oversee this operation.

I always have an amazing time at Assemble! Every time I have a friend visit from out of town I bring them here, to sample not only local cuisine but also for the great ambiance, view, history of the Ford Motor Factory, and then a trip to the wonderful (and free!) Rosie the Riveter museum! The menu is always fresh with seasonal options, and everything is delicious! Absolutely love this place!
