Assaggio Ratings and Reviews
Had a work team holiday lunch for 10 people. Everything went perfectly and was delicious. Assagio was very welcoming and adapted easily to my special requests by phone and had appetizers ready as requested. Will return for special larger events based on this experience (in addition to dinners with friends).
We enjoyed being seated immediately up[on arriving at our reservation time. We also greatly appreciated the restaurant seating me at a table where my hearing disability would not matter as greatly as I was seated next to my wife. The food was, as always, very, very good.
The food was amazing, and I do mean amazing it was probably some of the best Italian food I’ve had in years. However, the service was the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Waitress singled our table out and didn’t ask how our food was, refill waters or give us desert menus well she did all these things and was very kind to the tables around us (old couples) I assume she did this because I am in my early 20’s and she assumed we wouldn’t tip well but this was the most atrocious service I’ve ever had
Excellent meal, service, and ambiance. Changed our reservation from 6 to 5:30 PM in order to have plenty of time to make a 7:30 performance. Service was so prompt that 6 would have worked fine. Had Lasagna and Capellini special with shell fish. The lasagna noodles were uniquely fresh with tasty sauce and cheese. Likewise the capellini was delicious as were the bread and cesare salad! We will return.
Celebrated my sisters 50th birthday lunch at Assagios...sO wonderful from start to finish.
I had requested a quiet table as my mom has hearing difficulty and we were seated at the best table in the restaurant making it easy to converse as well as enjoy the scenery.
The food is delicious and beautiful. I ordered salmon and it was cooked to tender perfection and was served with vegetables and pasta for a very reasonable cost.
I highly recommend you try this restaurant and believe it will become a favorite,
If you are in Seattle you must go to Assagio. Mauro, the owner and his wonderful wife greet customers with genuine warmth. The food is consistently fabulous, thank goodness they offer a pasta sample or I would never be able to choose. The pasta with prawns and eggplant is amazing, and the lasagna is authentic Italian, light and delicious. Always packed and great energy. My favorite restaurant.
This is my go-to Italian restaurant in Seattle. Having been raised with Italian family recipes from back East, I am pretty picky about this type of food. Assaggio does not disappoint. The menu has plenty of variety, is not over-the-top or pretentious in offerings, and provides generous portions. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner. Make reservations, though, because this place can get packed real quick.
Came for dinner before a show as it was close to our venue and had always enjoyed the food. Drink order came out wrong after a long wait. Waited another very long time for the corrected drink to be replaced and it was wrong once again. The third time it came out it was still incorrect but at that time the person in my party just wanted a drink and didn't want to mess with another hassle/ wait. I'd like to add that this was a simple gin on the rocks order, not some complicated mixed drink. When our food order came we once again had an incorrect serving. That was remedied after a short wait but at this point we are really not enjoying ourselves as much as we should be. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant. It was great back in the day but I feel that outside of the poor service that the food has really gone downhill as well.
The food and service was excellent. The restaurant was very loud and the table we had was the worst. It was table 51 and had constant traffic by servers. That is my only complaint. Always love dining here, will just make sure I never sit at this table again.
I do always enjoy eating at this restaurant and we typically visit once during a weekend visit to Seattle area. I would offer that I didn't think the sauce was as good as "normal" for the Gnocchi but it's still fresh and it was good. I also didn't receive a drink I ordered and it seemed like out waiter almost disappeared but thankfully they work as a team and others took care of us and my drink was credited to the tab sure...but it would have been nice to enjoy it all the same.
Having just moved back to Seattle, I hadn't been to Assaggio in years. But the owner recognized me immediately, and everyone took care of us wonderfully. I've always been a fan of the penne alla vodka, but you could throw a dart at the menu and get something wonderful. Can't wait to go back!
Assaggio is one of my favorite places to go for happy hour and dinner. On top of having some of the best food in the city, Assaggio has one of the most welcoming and accommodating crews in the area. If you're looking for some killer food, this is your spot!
