We enjoyed our dinner here; the ambiance, nice lively vibe, and we had a wonderful table outside. The food was mostly good— delicious spaghetti a la vongole, tender beef ribs but could’ve used a bit more flavor/seasoning, calamari was excellent, but the fried olives were way too salty. Service was quite efficient and prompt but not very attentive and friendly; kinda diminished the ambiance a bit. Overall, it was pleasant enough that I’ll consider going back and see if I’ll have a better experience next time.
We where there celebrating our sons graduation. I made reservations a month a head of time. It was a bit disappointing to get shoved into a table by the front door and up against the bar. We had a party of 8 and we could not have s nice conversation it was too loud. Was a bit of a bummer.
This was the last night of a four day get away to Seattle celebrating an early anniversary. For our last dinner in Seattle we wanted a local gem and we happened across Assaggio. From the onset we knew we were onto something special. Assaggio’s great curb appeal draws you in where you’re met by a a gentleman (we assume the owner) who obviously enjoys what he does for a living. We were offered a choice of seating options and choose to dine alfresco.
The menu had Italian depth and selection was difficult. We selected seafood pasta and ravioli with prawns. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the seafood was fresh and abundant. Service was friendly, accommodating and food was prepared expediently and served hot. Assaggio was just what we were hoping to find for our last dinner in Seattle.
Sent the pasta back as it was dry, plus the waiter forgot the coffee. We were one of the first customers before it got busy so food and service should have been better.
Average quality food at high prices . Really nothing special.
Qué sabor. Todo agradable y el servicio
I visited Assaggio twice in the one week - once with reservation and once without. Service was a little patchy for our lunch reservation. As the restaurant emptied out, so it seemed did the servers and by the end of the meal, we were reliant on the super-helpful busboy to get dessert and coffee. Otherwise, excellent food, lovely ambiance and a great drinks list. Dinner service as a walk-in was faultless.
GREAT ITALIAN FOOD, WINE, AND SERVICE MADE FOR A SUPERB MEAL.
We have always enjoyed our dinners at Asiago very much. Good food and a fun atmosphere!
Trip Advisor favorite. All of us enjoyed our meals. Very good enthusiastic service.
have always appreciated Assagio as a staple of the downtown dining scene, not too pretentious or affected, good neighborhood place, reliable service, atmosphere and quality. Have to say, though, on this occasion the main courses were underwhelming. Chicken Parmigian was too bready, linguine con vongole too salty -- way too salty. Disappointing. I won't write it off, but won't rush back, either.
Great food, service, and ambiance. What's not to like?
We celebrated both of our son's returning from college for the summer at Assaggio this week and it could not have been more perfect. We were given a lovely round table right by the window and the service and food were spectacular. Our sons had the spaghetti and lasagna and loved them both and I had the pasta special for the night which was filled with fresh seafood and probably one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. We loved the entire experience and will definitely be back soon.
The doors were open because of the weather, which was beautiful but there were a bunch of sirens going by, and I imagine that happens a lot in their downtown location. It wouldn't be good for groups, but for two people it was lovely- food and service were both excellent.
Assaggio was one of the best restaurants we ate at in Seattle. I liked it better than Lola, really, which was also good. Value for money is outstanding in the restaurant, higher than those around it. The staff was great, and one gentleman who I thought might have been the owner came over to our table who made an effort to welcome us.
What a nice ambiance this restaurant has and what a good vibe you get from the staff.
Love this place! Great food, reasonably priced and good location.
This is my daughters go to place for Italian Food in Seattle. We went to celebrate her 19th birthday. The food and services is always great.
Some of the best Italian dining in the city. Lovely servers and great atmosphere. Dont miss this Seattle gem
Delicious caesar salad and extraordinary lasagna with scrumptious marinara. Attentive service. Maura always a kick.
Excellent as always! Love Assaggio! We come for special occasions as it is always on point.
The food is fantastic and every time I’ve been there the owner has been walking around greeting the guests. You don’t have to be a regular to feel like one.
Excellent choices and great option to order trio of pastas for main course
It was lousy!!! Meal was reheated and the waiter forgot part of our order
Moved to number 1 on our list of favorite restaurants in Seattle! Great food, service and price, unless you buy an expensive bottle of wine which was half our meal and tip. We are from out of town but will definitely make Assaggio first on our reservation list when coming back!
We totally enjoyed ourselves. This was our second time to the restaurant and this time we brought friends. Loved it!
Overall Very nice date restaurant. The waiter was patient and professional. The food was very good. Wine list was good.
The dining room was classy but informal, and the food was terrific. Our server was a little terse, but the rest of the staff was warm, gracious, and very competent. I look forward to coming back.
Food was average, bad but not terrible. Was celebrating birthday which I mentioned but there was no special treat, not even a happy birthday. Disappointed.
Good Italian food for Seattle. Pasta was a bit under done
Good food and Enviroment.
This is a very nice restaurant where you can count on good food and excellent service.
3rd time eating here. Did not dissapoint. Made reservations a couple days before and had to keep modifying it due to my husbands late meeting. Despite it bring extremely busy on a Friday night, we were seated with 10 minutes.
The Wild Boar Pappardelle did not disapoint and my husband loved his seafood pasta dish. Food came out very quickly and the waiter attentive, though they do spend more time with the tables with the pretty women!
We had the pasta faglioli soup to start. The entrees we ordered were lasagna and linguini with clam sauce. I didn’t love the meat used in the lasagne, but the sauce was excellent. My daughter loved the linguini! I ordered the gelato wth espresso for dessert and was disappointed in the extremely small scoop of gelato. The tiny espressso overtook the gelato and it was like having a cup of coffee rather than being a nice combo.
The waiter seemed stressed, but he was efficient and the support staff were friendly.
lack of services - had to request butter and other things several times.
only one waiter who is not attentive.
pasta is good but on the average scale.
We have been to Assiaggo many times. The food and service is always outstanding. We went before going to a matinee at Cinerama. The theater is only half a block away so very it is very convenient.
Our dinner was exceptional. One of our favorite restaurants in Seattle.
We were delighted with Assaggio! This restaurant features fresh foods, beautifully yet simply prepared. We enjoyed the Linguini con Vongole and the delicious minestrone soup. We will be back! Mille Grazie !
Assaggio's is by far the best Italian restaurant in Seattle. My family is from Italy and I can tell you that this is Italian food with a special ingredient...made with passion. The great food and the warm atmosphere are spectacular, and the hospitality that the owner Mauro gives you is one of a kind.
We were a family group of 7, had a reservation but were seated at what has to be the worst table in the house. Right in the intersection of 3 server routes. Table made for 4 but crammed for 7. We had to have the glassware removed otherwise there would have been no table space. It's the little things that you remember next time you think of a restaurant that cause you to give it a mental thumbs down before you choose another restaurant. If you have 1-4 in your party, it can be a fun place but after multiple visits, this one left a pretty bad taste.
