Food was not value for money and didn’t found it authentic Italian meal
Every trip to Seattle includes a night @ Assaggio!
Food was AMAZING! Very, very busy and we had a table right in middle of the room so the waiters were zipping by us continuously. Not super relaxing but I would go again because the food was SO good! I had the lasagna and tiramisu and they were excellent. Bruschetta was just OK. House red was perfect! Definitely a place I will go back to!
I ordered the lasagna and it was great! My husband ordered the trio pasta, and his was cold, all 3 pastas were cold. Other than that I would be willing to try it again but not sure about him.
Food and service were outstanding. Seating was a bit cramped, but that was only a minor inconvenience.
A little overpriced, but high quality ambiance and excellent food. Wait staff was friendly and efficient.
My wife and I decided to eat here for our 26th wedding anniversary dinner after seeing it on Evening Magazine. We both thought the food was great, especially the olive oil with roasted garlic and capers that came with the bread. The bruschetta appetizer was very fresh and tasty, and although it had a bit more oil on the bread than we were used to, definitely would recommend it. For entrees, my wife had the pasta sampler, and I had the linguini with clams. My linguini had a good many clams, and was delicious. My wife’s sampler was also very tasty, but admittedly for the $30 price, we both thought the portion size could have been larger. Regardless, it was the right portion size for my wife, and gave us a good excuse to order the zeppoli for dessert, which definitely hit the spot and was a delicious way to end a lovely anniversary meal.
Delicious food. Fair prices. Professional service. 3 of 4 got pasta, and I got veal parm. All delicious. I have eaten here for 25 years and it has a solid choice every time.
Mauro runs the best Italian restaurant in Seattle. Great, welcoming atmosphere.
Food was not bad but not amazing. It seemed like everything was cooked beforehand and warmed up. Bread they provided was very generic.
Lovely eve out for my birthday - service - good but a little quick . Food good & plenty of it
Despite booking a special occasion reservation a week ago, we were initially seated at an awkwardly placed and just bad table in the bar right behind the hostess stand and front door. We indicated this was a special occasion and you give us your very worst table?
Service staff need to be trained to not bring dirty plates (in hand) from another table when refilling water!
Wait staff was a bit too heavy-handed with the pepper grinder!.
Just a great time. Food was good, staf was super friendly and attentive. Would go again.
Another great night at Assaggio! Took a new-to-town friend here because they were looking for good Italian in Seattle. They liked it so much they told me they were still thinking about it the next day.
An excellent restaurant for a cozy date! The pastas are excellent. The wine list is quite nice. Some of the mark-ups are on the high side, but there are also some relative bargains if one knows the stuff. And don't miss the canoli for desert!
Assaggio is one of the very best Italian restaurants in Seattle. We eat dinner here whenever we're going to a Jazz Alley show, which pays a double benefit by allowing us to avoid the mediocre, over-priced food at the jazz club. While I've sampled several dishes, my go to dinner is the paparadelle with wild boar ragu. It's amazing!
The food at the lunch for our co-worker who is leaving for a new job was excellent as usual. A bit pricey but worth it. Service was also good.
From being greeted at the door Italian style by Mario and the impeccable service by the rest of the staff we were transported back to a neighborhood restaurant in Northern Italy. It was a night to remember with every item a gastronomic delight. No need to fly to Italy with Mario in Seattle.
There are very few times in my life when I wanted to like the plate clean ... but this was one of them! A sophisticated Italian environment perfect for a special occasion or just a fun Friday night. Amazing service and even better food. I know it sounds like I’m a bit over the top but I mean every word.
It was so wonderful, in every way, that we went two nights in a row! The seafood was prepared beautifully! Loved the cod, shrimp, salmon, scallops, octopus! The Gnocchi was outstanding as well as other pastas. Oh, and the desserts, chocolate cheese cake, tiramisu, gelato and espresso! We were able to visit with the owner, Mauro, and his wife Connie. We had two beautiful evenings there!! Thank you!
Great food and service. Servers always remember me and accommodate special requests.
Specials are always outstanding.
I love this place! It's one of my favorites in Seattle. The food is always excellent. The service is attentive but not overbearing. Mauro, the restaurateur, is always a delight. I'll be back!
We went there for New Year’s Eve and it was wonderful.
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like family. Thank you to entire Assagio staff for making our dining experience very special.
Best service hands down and family feel in Seattle. Great prices and food. Will be regulars in no time. Thank you!
The absolute best Italian restaurant in the city hands down. Been there many times in the past 25 years and the food and friendly environment is incredible every time.
Excellent service, party of six all served at the same time. A few of the dishes were quite good, others very
uninspiring and mediocre. Salads were good as were the desserts.
Wonderful local high quality Italian restaurant. Will definitely dine again.
Great experience! Great food, outstanding service!
wonderful food. Server Amy truly outstanding - attentive, not overbearing, extremely knowledgable.
Wonderful food and dining experience with our family! Thank you!!
Service was poor. Waited over 5 minutes after seating for water. Dinner was served promptly however wait staff was slow.
Amazing! Old school Italian with all the charm and class one expects when going out
Chef Mauro and his staff provided an incredible Christmas Eve dinner! The lobster Ravioli were just to die for.
Wonderful ambiance for Christmas Eve!
As always, a wonderful experience from meeting Mauro at the door, to exceptional Italian food, a lively ambiance and all accompanied by top-notch service -- can't wait to go back!
We celebrated Christmas Eve here with our family and it was splendid as always. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like family by the owner himself as well as the entire wait staff. Our food was delicious and the kitchen even prepared my fish dish with a sauce that I had in the summer but was no longer on the menu. When I asked about it, they said no problem and it was as amazing as I remembered it. We love everything about Assaggio and it’s neighborhood charm.
Mauro runs one of the best restaurants in Seattle. No one makes you feel more at home and more welcome. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. This will always be my favorite restaurant in Seattle.
Greeted at the door by the owner. Very nice.
Wine list was excellent.
Good was plentiful and very authentic.
