Another spectacular meal.... excellent service
The food was Fantastic. The upstairs can get a little noisy but we had a large group so that was OK. I would definitely go back. The menu is really good at the wide selection as well.
The food is awesome or the most part However,My potatoes were cold. We had asked if a waitress that we had liked on a prior visit was available. We were moved and felt like we were being punished when we were placed in the back corner downstairs beside the open kitchen (it was not even the right waitress but she was still very good). VALET Parking was terrible. Waited 35 minute for the car on a cold wet night valet had been called from the restaurant but we were told that they were not answering their phones
Amazing atmosphere with fantastic food and service
It was my husband's birthday, and after reserving well in advance and confirming the reservation, I received a cancellation email from Open Table. A little off putting. I believe, because of that, we received a crappy table in the basement of this restaurant, next to the icemaker and wait staff prep area and bathrooms. It kind of sucked. The only redeeming quality was the food which was good. They were out of the wine we wanted AND one of the waiters dropped a hot pot of saute next to my husband on his way to the prep area and it splashed all over my husband, the birthday boy. Bottom line, we waited a while for the waitress to get to us to order wine, they were out of it, and by the time we actually got our wine, the appetizer had already arrived. Basement next to prep area when special table was requested for husband's 50th, who in turn had oil all over him, smell of bathrooms while eating the expensive meal. Open table may or may not have screwed this up, but either way, not memorable due to all kinds of mistakes made. I would have given us another dinner out, but instead, he was offered dry cleaning for the shirt.... Not ideal Dipasquale. Shame on you guys. It could have been so much better.
Big complaint about getting seated in the basement....if you are at a table by the side stairs, there is a window on the first floor near the stairs and when they leave it open, and people smoke outside, then the smoke comes down the stairs, right into your nose! Not really a pleasant dining experience when this happens. We asked to be moved, and they moved us two tables over. It made little difference - the smoke still came downstairs. They need to find a better solution to this. Doubt I will be back until then, and a shame because the wait staff was nice and the food (minus the smoke) was good.
This one if my favorite restaurants. I haven’t been there in well over a year.... The new facelift has given the restaurant a totally new modern look. Looks great! As always, the food is outstanding !
Food was amazing!
great food and service. We arrived 30 minutes early to our reservation but were seating anyway and the food was amazing. My friend and I were celebrating our 21st birthdays and got special birthday drinks which were amazing
I frequented this place before NEW Ownership and it has changed a bit since then.
I think the menu has a little less choices than before, but food quality has not changed.
Still an awesome place to have a great dinner.
The staff was super helpful and patient :)
Had a great time at Assaggio! Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, she said she just wanted a nice Italian dinner. We definitely had that! Food was amazing and the staff was attentive and professional. We have already agreed we'll be going back with more people so everyone can experience what we did. It may be a little pricey, but by the end of the meal, I can tell you, it's worth it.
The best Italian food I've had in Boston. The lasagna in particular was exceptional. Service was a bit slow but would still highly recommend.
Wonderful dining experience.
Literally the best meal I have ever had hands down.
Food was very good. Service was terrible. After taking our food order we never saw our waiter again until I had to get the manager's attention to get my check. Waiter said he was busy, but at least once he was standing on the other side of the room looking around not doing anything. When you pay this kind of money for food, the service should be excellent or there is no point in going out to a nice restaurant. Won't be going back.
Superior food. Presentation of everything was beautiful. Excellent service. Highly recommend
The Saute of Clams or Mussels states tht they were imported. Thinking that they might be from Italy or New Zealand (as they sometimes are) I asked the waiter what the origin was. He Said to me "they are all from the ocean and all taste the same" but he would check with the chef. I was then informed that they were "imported" locally and/or from Maine.(?) My bench mark of a good Italian restaurant is the meatballs.... Assiago did not pass the test. Lacked flavor and consistancy
Very dissatisfied. Food in Cranston and Providence puts these overpriced North end restaurants to shamr
Delicious! Great service!
Loved the food and the pace of service.
Dining at Assaggio is a great experience. Food is delicious - Veal Milanese is a favorite, and the house salad is unique and the best in the neighborhood. Ambiance is cozy and welcoming. You will not be disappointed here!
Great service. Good ambiance. Price point a little high for going often.
We had a 7:30 reservation during restaurant week only waited about 10 minutes NP. table was nice service just a bit slow again acceptable. Food was excellent. We will be back.
I hesitate to write how awesome our dining experience was. Because this is the best meal that we’ve ever had in the North end. The service was impeccable yet you felt as if you were in a friends home. And everything from appetizers to desserts were to die for.
Assaggio is fantastic!
The food, the service, the ambience are all stellar.
It's our go to place in the North End.
Corey, Carlo, Eugenio and the staff are amazing!
They make the dining experience wonderful in every way!
Great 3 dishes for $33.00 for Restaurant Week including a filet! Great bread is always my test for great food! Only downside was parking. Loved it otherwise.
I frequently go to the North End to have dinner with friends and relatives. I mainly stick to restaurants the are owned by Frank DePasquale (Depasquale Ventures). I am never disappointed. I would like to commend the service at your restaurant and especially Imma who was so pleasant, professional, friendly and accommodating to our every need. Thank you Imma!!!! Can't wait to go back there.
we have been going to Assagio for years. Honestly a little disappointed with the white washed affect. We really missed the old world feeling of the interior. However, our waitress was amazing as well as the rest of the staff.
It’s so good, we keep going back! The Veal Chop is outstanding and so is the Breaded Veal Cutlet
Tried this place out for the first time for Restaurant Week, and when we got there we weren't given/offered the Restaurant Week menu (first weird thing) - so we asked for it and were given it shortly thereafter, no problem. Then we asked what drinks were good, ordered those drinks. I tried one sip of the drink and almost had to spit it out, tasted like someone replaced simple syrup with actual cough syrup (for an expensive cocktail with quality liquor in it, so that shouldn't happen!). I tried another sip or two before I eventually gave up on the drink and just drank water instead. It sat there for the entire rest of our meal without being noticed by the many different servers, so towards the end of the meal I finally got myself to say something about how it just didn't taste right, and our waitress pleasantly took it away and walked over to talk to someone about it. I assumed all was well until our bill came and that drink was still on the tab... I didn't make a fuss because I do feel like I ordered it so it was my fault to some extent, but something like that has just honestly never happened to me before, even at not very nice restaurants, let alone at restaurants that are supposed to be on the nicer side - so it was surprising and disappointing, but it was the truth about our experience which had otherwise been fairly pleasant (we did particularly enjoy the Saute of Mussels).
Not a relaxing service....the waitress was overly confident
Overall it was great . We sat downstairs four of us. Octopus and Zucchini flowers were incredible.
Everyone loved their meals . Bottle of Chianti was the best. Overall great , can't wait to go back.
Straight commercial sauce. Same crap as your other restaurants. Try something new and be different. Charging a decent price for a meal that isn't fresh and made to order. Subpar ingredients as well.
Food was incredible!!! Prompt service.
We ate early so the dining room was quiet. Server was very nice. Food came quickly and was delicious. Sat near a window -- it was a bit chilly.
Excellent!! Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Food was amazing!!!
Our server, Tony, was absolutely great! Food was delicious and portion sizes were large. Wish the tables weren’t so close but overall the space was very nice.
Definitely will be back for a third time because everything is top shelf
