Chef Fredrik Berselius brings his love of nature to his urban surroundings through food at Brooklyn's only two Michelin-starred restaurant. With an emphasis on ingredients from the Northeastern region and influenced by his Scandinavian homeland, Aska, Swedish for "ashes," offers a distinctive dining experience through a procession of courses prepared from an open kitchen and served to guests of only ten tables each night.

    I do not even know how to begin to write a review that will do justice to how outstanding our experience at Aska was. There just aren't words.. I was celebrating my birthday and I received good wishes from every staff member. Nice way to start the evening. Missy and Carmen took care of our every need and explained the wines in great detail. Best wine pairing I have ever experienced. The rest of the staff Emma, Brian, Colby, Isaac, and Juan prepared and delivered each course with precision, detailing every ingredient. I am still in disbelief how extraordinary every course was. One of , if not, the most memorable dinners we ever had. By the end of the evening, we felt like we had made many new friends and were sad to leave. We look forward to a return visit.

    The food is very good. The service simple and the dishes explained well. My only issue is that chef doesn’t switch up his dishes all that much day after day, year after year. Slight changes to accompaniments or preparations, but this approach makes Aska (for me) a one-time only destination. If there was more variety seasonally, I would consider a return. But if you want to make a restaurant a regular destination, Aska isn’t the place. Once is plenty.

    Our second trip to ASKA did not disappoint! Both times were outstanding experiences, and this one somehow topped the first. Looking forward to our next opportunity to return! And how is this place only 2 stars?!?!?

    Everything was great from the food to the service to the wine recommendations. They had a broken lock in the bathroom which caused an awkward experience. This kind of detail should not be overlooked in a restaurant of this type.

    Amazing spot: great products, very creative and beautifully presented. Wine list is very nice, the Sommelier is very helpful! Perfect service. Honestly an incredible experience overall. If you have the opportunity to have dinner there, please go ahead without hesitation! Congrats to the team.
