I think Ashley’s should offer a large lobster tail during lobster fest
Not everyone wants a whole lobster it’s to hard to eat and you throw a lot away
It's a great local bar and restaurant. The fries are one of their best dishes and it's a great place for beer lovers.
Took far to long for refills and reorders on the lobster. It was great, but still would have left earlier and taken the table up less time.
Awesome lobster fest!
We had a wonderful first night out since covid! Server was wonderful and friendly and fast. Can’t wait to go back.
Good Spinach & artichoke dip. Amazing beer selection.
Great beer selection and weekly specials. Always do a great job of taking care of your beer needs.
Birthday dinner. Used our friend of the owner account for a birthday pizza. Everything was great aside from the service being a little slow.
Great food. Service was good. Kitchen a tad slow, but nothing to complain about as it was very busy.
Loved the deviled eggs !
Nice bar atmosphere. Food was good except my husband’s sandwich the roll was a bit stale or dry. Excellent clam chowder & appetizers. Overall very good.
Not bad but not particularly good but on the cheap side. Wouldn’t particularly go back.
Loved our server Krishna
Visited Ashley's during our visit to Ann Arbor and had a great experience. Excellent place to meet up for food and beverages. Excellent selection of scotch samplers and service was very good. Can't wait to return.
Fantastic service, just a little louder than expected.
We went there for dinner. All 3 of us enjoyed our meals. Good beers and reasonable prices. Decor is somewhat dated.
Great restaurant
The place was nice. Didn't wait long. And the service was great 💜.
When we came in we had reservations the host told us our tabel will be ready in 5 minutes, we waited 20 minuets and watched him seat 5 couples who came in after us before I asked him again if our tabel was ready and he asked my name again then took us to our tabel. Waitress was polite, enthusiastic, helpful, and awesome. We both ordered lobster and i couldnt eat mine after seeing the green stuff (i had the meat from one claw that was all) and asked for a menu and threw my lobster away, then was charged for the lobster i didnt eat. I ordered a chicken wrap and it was great! Overall not the best experience with the host and the food and bill.
Our first time trying out Lobster Fest. We had an awesome time. Despite the restaurant being packed the server was very attentive. Great deal on Lobster. Highly recommend you check it out next year! We will definitely be back.
Lobsterfest was amazing. I would recommend this event for all the lobster lovers during father's day weekend
Went for the Lobster Fest, Lobster was delicious (but could have used at least SOME seasoning) Cajun, montreal, OLD BAY, anything! Everything else (but the coleslaw) was tasteless and bland... No seasoning on potatoes, Plain packaged bread, just terrible... Not worth it. Rather pay an extra $5-$8 per meal to get some FLAVOR added. Will not be participating in this lobsterfest again. I'll wait and go to the Great American Lobster Festival instead...
Lobsterfest was amazing!
Lobster Fest! My husband's lobsters were cooked perfectly and my meal was delicious. We enjoyed our first visit to Ashley's and we are looking forward to our next visit!
Lobster fest was Awesome!!!
We go every year for the Lobster Festival... And will be going again next year...
We went to the Lobsterfest event. Ashley's is located on State St across campus. It's an older establishment. The atmosphere is very casual. Our server took our order. The salad came shortly. Before we were halfway through finishing our salad the lobster meal was served. Overall, the food, service, and meal were ok but I won't be coming back to their Lobsterfest. The lobster was served whole and certainly enough for a meal. I'm a small person so it was a suitable size. If you love lobster you may want to go for the all you can eat! btw...our beer was not cold. I prefer to eat lobster in a seafood restaurant.
Another great time at Lobster Fest. We enjoy bring new people to this event. Looking forward to next year. Thanks.
Love the lobster-fest!!! Only sad no T-shirts this year.
3 out of 4 lobsters tails were covered in green slime.I guess it is the eggs of a lobster but unappetizing. When it was known that we won't be ordering more lobster and were just finishing our meal we we told 3 times to hurry because annother party was due at our table at 700p although it was only 6p and empty tables were everywhere.
We arrived a tad bit early and they were able to seat us right away. The service staff was very accommodating and genuinely wanted to help us. The really tall guy went out of his way when my wife asked for cocktail sauce he went back an made some because there was none available. We had an awesome dinner and evening. Thank you Ashley’s.
We were there for Lobsterfest 2019. The lobsters seemed a little on the small size but tasted great. We will return for the anytime food and fun and for the next Lobsterfest.
I remember Ashley's as a place always packed full during the school year about 10 years ago, so I was delightfully surprised to see Ashley's on OpenTable and able to snag a spot. Given it's summer time, there were plenty of seats available as well. The waiter was a little grumpy at first but he got better throughout the meal.
It was busy but our server was excellent and the food was good.
It was just ok. According to people who USED to go there it's fallen to the just ok status. The food was mediocre. The beer selection was great BUT if you want a meal I recommend eating somewhere else. There's too many really good places in AA waste time here. Sorry, Ashley's but out of 7 of us only one had a good meal.
Ashley's is a place we love from our college years and the decade after that we spent in Ann Arbor. So, of course, we went there for one of our daughter's graduation ceremonies. We were happy that they took reservations via OpenTable and that part went fine. We were seated immediately after arriving even though the restaurant was full due to UofM graduations. Upon seating my sister in law hurt her hand pretty badly (to the point of almost fainting) on her chair which was broken (top not attached to legs and her finger was under the point where it should have been attached and she sat on it pinching her thumb very badly). Okay, so is that the restaurant's fault? Maybe their chairs shouldn't be broken. However, upon my husband reaching out to the first server he saw to ask for a bad of ice (she turned out to be OUR server), she said, "oh yea, you can get that from the bartender over there"...not Oh my, sir, let me do whatever is necessary to help someone in our restaurant that just hurt themselves! From there on it went downhill. Our server did NOT KNOW what hand pulled beer was or that Ashley's had them! Umm...that is WHY my husband comes there. And they didn't even have ONE on tap that day! Disappointing...but then when he tried to get the beers he wanted for a flight he was told he couldn't because some of them had an asterisk by them..He asked to pay extra or just pay full price for a 4 oz pour and was again told NO. Isn't Ashley's all about the beer??!! Okay, so after we got our beverages...I will say that the food was very good. So, we were happy about that. Overall, the servers need to be better trained (perhaps, she was new but truly ANY training should include intensive beer training!) I don't usually leave bad reviews but this just couldn't be left unsaid. Not sure we will go back when A2 has so many other places...Tradition over?? Perhaps.
Awesome environment! Best place to spend with friends if you are into beer!
Sunday afternoon. Not too many people in the restaurant. Brought my parents with us to see my son in A2. We got there at 340, ordered at 345 and didn’t get our food until 430. We had salads, grilled cheese, and tacos. My dads salad came out last ten minutes after our meals came. We also ordered an appetizer that didn’t come out u til our meal. We would have understood had someone ever stopped at our table and asked if we were ok.
Manager was nice and took off the tacos and grilled cheese that was cold. It was just such a disappointment. We have always liked Ashley’s. It was a nice place for a quick bite. Don’t think we will be back.
Bar food, average bar food at best. Noisy. Service OK. Nothing special.
We played SPORCLE Trivia. It was fun. Food was mostly good. Crammed with people. All students. No room to intake oxygen while sitting next to other tables. Bathroom was downstairs. Our waitress was phenomenal :-).
We come to Ashley's every Thursday for trivia, it's a great spot with good food and beer and a staff that keeps us wanting to come back!
