Wine was just ok. Food was Good but nothing special they also use peanut oil
For those with allergies. Who used peanut oil these days with so many allergic kids out there???.
Thank you for your feedback. I believe your were misinformed when you were dining with us as our head chef is also allergic to peanuts. We do not use any peanut oil in house, only soy bean oil. I apologize on behalf of my staff for the incorrect information and I hope you will give us another chance.
It was me and my best friend’s birthday and they gave us a free slice of banana cream pie! Love On the Verge restaurants.
The hostess was the best and our server was amazing. They were patient with us (we had my 10 month old baby) and super helpful. We will definitely be back.
This place is walking distance from my house and is an easy go to. Their happy hour is great!!! Very dog friendly :)
Such fantastic service, had an amazing birthday brunch here
Service was good, the food came out timely and was delightful. I’ll be back soon!
Took the kids for breakfast. Wanted to love this place- menu is good and back patio is cool. French toast was fried and solid grease. One kid liked it, the other didn’t. Server didn’t realize adult food never came until she came to give us the check. Coffee was cold. Overall, not a good experience.
Lovely to sit outside on the patio. Cocktails were wonderful. Perfect for a big multi-generational family brunch.
Great patio - turkey burger was delicious -
Love this place so much! Went for a early dinner with a couple friends while we were out and about and needed a dog friendly place to stop. This place came up in my search and so glad it did! Super cute, good food and a true dog friendly place. They are not just tolerated but truly welcome with a dog menu so they can eat to. The human food was amazing as well and the draft rose was delicious! Will definitley go back when I am in Santa Monica with or without a puppers in tow!
I’ve had the pleasure of eating at Ashland Hill three times. I make point to stop in when on the West side. The food is always bomb and our server was a delight.
Love this place! Great food and drinks and DOG FRIENDLY ♥️
Simply the best. Everything on the menu is well-crafted and the beer selection is divine. I truly wish there were more restaurants like this.
Nice outdoor space on Main St. in Santa Monica. Good beer selection and generous food portions. The cornbread fritters were delicious. I'm all for dogs at outdoor restaurants but several were barking and lunging at customers. Maybe seat them toward the front and not in the back section.
It was raining so this was the only downside because there are no other seating options but outside. Shishito mac n cheese was delicious! Cocktail were yummy and well made.
This was a great place for a group and super cute outside patio. Great food and drinks and ambiance.
Cool space to grab a casual meal
Food okay. Service was great.
I love this place! The atmosphere on the back patio, the wait staff and the food is excellent.
I only wish it wasn't so loud. As time went on and more people arrived, the conversations got loud, and I noticed the music volume was turned up.
Loud music, in my opinion, does not make for a more energetic evening, it makes for a noisy evening.
We go out to be with people and to talk with people, and loud restaurants force us to yell at each other.
I wish restaurants would take notice and chill with the music volume.
Thanks for taking the time to read my review.
After being seated, were asked politely to move. (A larger party needed our table). We agreed and moved. Would have been nice if they'd comp'd a drink, or sent over a special appetizer as a 'thank you'.
We both ordered Medium Rare burgers. Her's was right, mine was well done.
The fries were old, stale, lukewarm.
Their kitchen cannot keep pace with the demand of Sunday Brunch.
The server gave us loads of time to chat and have a drink before we finally looked at our menus, it was nice not to be rushed. That's the only reason I give this place anything more than 1 or zero stars.
I paid $88 for 2 burgers, 4 glasses of rose.
So slow and sporadic - maybe it was just an off day but yikes, one of us was finished eating before the coffee was served, and the other of us had juice but no breakfast.
The service was great, and the waiters were very friendly and accommodating. Nice ambiance on the outdoor patio.
The restuarant smelled like dirty dog, as it is one of those places that allows dogs since it is patio seating. I ordered the short ribs and in my experience short ribs should fall off the bone and be tender. It was not! The meat had no flavor and was not tender and I could barely get it off the bone. The price of the cocktails was astronomical! For a gin bar, the waiters should be knowledgeable, unfortunately ours not, and I ended up with a gin that was totally unlike what I like.
Great food bargains during Happy Hour. Many items are half price. Good choice of appetizers and entrees and drinks. It is a popular place.
love the vibe here! perfect vibe for brunch especially when it’s nice out :)
A local neighborhood gem. Recently put a new roof on the outdoor patio seating area which is normally covered by tarps. Made it warmer and very cozy for a winter evening. Ambiance is eclectic. Dogs, tourists and babies. One of our favorites.
The Kale Cobb was delicious but the Fattoush Salad was a bit lackluster with not enough Middle Eastern inspiration. The creamed corn side was terrific.
The food was great! Price wise I think it’s on par with most casual restaurants on Main Street. I had a 30% off coupon from Blackboard Eats which was an awesome bonus. The coupon did not apply and we weren’t there for Happy Hour but I noticed the prices and offerings are impressive. I can honestly say I think I would have ordered the same had it been full price. The portion sizes were generous (we all had some leftovers). I had the kale salad and subbed out the blue cheese for cheddar (I don’t like blue cheese). I really liked it and would definitely recommend and order it again.
Nice friendly neighborhood casual restaurant. Pet friendly patio is a plus.
The service was friendly and the food good. All outdoor seating, but only nominally outdoors—there are actually walls and a roof. They also provide heaters and blankets in case you get chilled.
All in all, it was a great experience!
Came from out if town for a bday celebration, the food and ambiance was amazing. I had the French toast sticks, they were so good. The breakfast burrito was great too.
Hi Ashland Hill team,
Thank you for accommodating our group of Concierges from Santa Monica Place! We really enjoyed our Holiday get together at your place and will gladly recommend it to our guests and friends!
Specials of the day...Sunday brunch...Chocolate Pancakes with fresh Raspberries was an amazing treat. Highly recommend the Hash if you like spicy- the salsa has a great kick.
Nice brunch experience. Dog friendly which is a big plus!
