Busy happening place. Great food, great service. If you're looking for something different, I highly recommend this place.
the pita here was amazing. great service, great food!
Not a bad thing on the menu!
Joined friends and shared quite a few plates. Great food and fun. Nice wine list for something a bit different 🙃
Great ambiance and amazing food! We definitely will be back!
Explosion of delicious flavors in every bite, and the lamb is a MUST! We placed two orders of it to start and had to get more. Love the vibe on the patio especially, and our server was very attentive. Will definitely be back soon! Ash’Kara!!!
Amazing food and the seating outside was cozy and fun.
Good food, fast service, great ambience!
This was our first time as Ash'Kara and we will be back. The food was amazing and the service was excellent.
Savory, delicious, wonderful spices, rich flavors. Extremely satisfying. The warm, fresh out of the wood fired oven pita, with the amazing hummus or the richly flavored shakshuka, or any of the food on top makes for a middle eastern, north African, Turkish, Israeli etc. moderately priced feast. If I didn't live in Boulder, I would come back at least once a week, if not more often. Ash'kara to chef Dan Asher!
Having enjoyed previous meals, we were struck by the saltiness of many dishes. Somebody in the kitchen needs to get this under control.
Amazing food and service, one of my favorite places in town!
We visited ash Kara for our 10th wedding anniversary. We had several memorable, talk-about-the-next-day dishes (the salmon Crudo with saffron labneh! The delicious marinated olives!), but unfortunately we left feeling overall disappointed with our experience. The hostess seemed annoyed when we arrived and left us 2-3 times awkwardly (should we be following her? Did we do something wrong?). When we did get seated, our server insisted we order all of our food before our drinks arrived to the table. She seemed new, which is fine, but didn’t know much about the menu, brought the wrong bottle of wine, and forgot about two of our small plates after we had been waiting for a long gap between courses (she actually argued with us and insisted we didn’t actually order them!) We wanted to love this place- we adore Bar Dough and have always had amazing service there. Unfortunately the food, while good, wasn’t enough to make up for lackluster service.
Excellent food & vibe. The lamb koftas, the muhammara and the fatoush salad were all amazing as were the freshly baked pitas. A relaxing place with pretty decor. The wait staff could be a bit more attentive. We'll definitely revisit.
Delicious and interesting change for breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
A delightful spot with a somewhat limited menu. Hummus with roasted mushrooms and octopus were terrific. Small plates are quite small but the waiter's suggestion of quantity was right on.
Great food. Wonderful service. Will return again and again.
I would return for happy hour. However, we were both a little underwhelmed. Maybe our expectations were too high? Pita was outstanding as was hummus with roasted mushrooms. But found the babaganoush bland, the pickled veg hit or miss and the octopus very salty. Falafel was good. Told my husband they had a specific flavor of kombucha, he received a totally different flavor, they realized their mistake and apologized, but never offered to comp his drink.
We really enjoyed our dining experience at Ash’Kara last night with another couple in this cool and well designed space. Each dish was so incredible we split it four ways so everyone in our group could try and enjoy. The service was excellent, flavors incredible, and ambiance unique and fun. Highly recommend, as we’re already looking forward to returning!
Ash'Kara is an interesting restaurant, but its menu is one I would not want to repeat often, and the pace of activity doesn't encourage a relaxed experience. We could see our drinks sitting at the bar for what seemed like ages before they were delivered, and mixed drinks were so weak we felt the alcohol was missing entirely. That said, when we mentioned the drinks to the waitperson, she took them off the bill without hesitation, which was very nice.
Really good service with attentive staff.Hummus with mushrooms was delicious with that awesome pita bread. The gluten free pita is the best gf bread I have had. We loved the cauliflower, the cheese and the asparagus. The falafel was not quite as good. Finally the alcoholic beverages were inventive and really great. I couldn’t decide what to get. Ended up with the Thyme Collins which was fantastic. Overall wonderful dining experience!
first visit. hummus was awesome as was the duck. can't wait to go back.
Fantastic, fresh food with interesting flavors and textures. I loved how many vegetable options there were! Drinks were subtly flavored and tasty too. I read some previous reviews about poor service but our server was spot on - attentive and funny but gave us our space. Highly recommended. Ambiance, music and decor are great too.
Truly fabulous service and delicious food! We were able to sit outside on a lovely evening. Noise level inside seemed loud for four septuagenarians!
Rents are so high in Denver that this is the type of restaurant we'll get more of going forward. The food was good, but not great, and highly overpriced. The service was great and our waitress was really helpful figuring out what we should order and how much of it. We ended up getting two dips and two small plates and two drinks each with the final bill around $150. I'd just go down a block to Ali Baba on 32nd and get more better food for less. Good effort, but these kinds of places are why Denver has jumped the shark and folks like me will be moving on to a better city soon.
The food was decent, although it was not on par with El Five or Safta. The drinks were expensive for the quality and creativity. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t live up to the hype.
We waited about 30 mins to be seated (standing in the doorway) even though we had a reservation and arrived on time. There were guests that were seated before us, who arrived after us. The GM came over after one of us spoke up and was very polite and offered to comp a few items in exchange for the mix-up with the seating. Much appreciated. The food and drink were excellent. I'll certainly come back. I just hope they work out their reservation system so the wait isn't as long.
I went here for my birthday dinner and I couldn't have picked a better spot! Everyone had a great time and loved their food. I can't wait to go back!
We came for dinner at Ash’Kara last night and thought the food was delicious! The hummus with mushrooms, falafel, lamb, and cauliflower were all so enjoyable. The only thing to complain about was our waiter who did not give us much attention throughout the evening. There was a 20 minute period where no one came to check on us and we felt very frustrated. Aside from that, it was a great meal, but it would have been spectacular with better service.
Fantastic gluten free options - including GF pita! Everything was amazing!
Really enjoyed our meal! The pita was fresh out the oven and everything we got tasted amazing. We had the Kofta, cauliflower, carrots, falafel, and hummus between 2 and wouldn’t change a thing.
Went with a friend and had a bunch of shared plates. We had the roasted carrots, cauliflower, mushroom hummus, spring salad and octopus. All was really good, but the octopus and carrots were the most memorable. Between the two of us, it was plenty of food. The service was attentive and the staff very friendly. My friend is vegan and they were flexible with fitting his dietary needs. Probably the best Mediterranean food I've had in Denver. I will definitely go back!
Hummus add-ins are available on the side which allows people with varying tastes to still share. Bobal wine by the glass is a great change of pace from the everyday grapes (Cab, Merlot, Pinot, etc.). Service is great - we had a vegan in the group and he ate like a king with only a couple of modifications. Definitely going back.
Ash'kara food is amazing! However, the service was horrible. First, it took 15 minutes just to get water. Second, we had to hail down a waiter to ask if anyone was going to be serving us after waiting 10 minutes at our table with no water. Third, we didn't get our first small plate for an hour after sitting down. Fourth, we didn't get our drinks for 30 minutes after ordering them. Our waitress was not apologetic whatsoever, and avoided us at all costs, never asking if we were ok or giving an update on our orders. She even rolled her eyes at me as she walked away after I asked about an extra charge for our drinks that she said "was just how the system rung them up." She provided no further explanation on why our drinks were more expensive than usual. The manager came to our table to apologize for the long waits, but our waitress came up and interrupted him and said "Oh no, it's not that table, it's the other one" so he left to apologize to another table for long waits, but absolutely nothing for us.
If Ash'kara works on their service, and hiring nice & accommodating staff, then this would be an excellent restaurant. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
Bummer of a Mother’s Day brunch. Don’t open brunch if you’re not ready. Everything was mediocre this time around, very underwhelmed. Service was sad, especially the lack of care for the special occasion. Our plates sat in front of us the whole meal, no recommendations were given, just....a real lack of hospitality. Everyone around me felt the same way, staring around...pushing their food around. Yikes.
We had four people in our group and that provided the opportunity to try a large variety of their small plates. (In fact, we pretty much selected a few items that we didn't want and then ordered one of everything else.) That allowed everyone to get a taste of each item with the option to finish off the plate if that turned out to be one your favorites. There wasn't a single loser in the whole group. We will definitely return. We got an early reservation and that turned out to be a good decision. It gets crowded and a bit noisy as the evening progresses.
Superb on every level. The decor, ambience, menu and drinks are spot on. We particularly enjoyed the hummus w/ charred onions, the falafel was outstanding and the muhamara was so good that we wanted to lick the plate. Next time we will try the fish.
The staff was excellent but the timing of when items came from the kitchen was ever so slightly off.
I wish Ash’Kara was open for lunch! Hint. Hint.
The food is great but need more options on the menu.
Delicious food, cool space, and fun vibe. Highly recommend.
