    AWS is a unique experience for wine lovers. It is a wine shop more than it is a restaurant, only a few tables, so it’s very intimate. The menu is more about gourmet appetizers than sumptuous meals, with the emphasis on wine pairings. The owner is on site at dinner, and he’s very knowledgeable about wines and how they go with which foods. I took my wife there for her birthday because she’s a foodie who loves tasting wines, and she was thrilled with the experience!

    Mark was a great server. Crab appetizer and crab cakes were delicious. Wine was good. Surprised you buy a bottle of wine there and then there is a sommelier fee. 🤷‍♀️

I believe Mark only charged you 50% and had explained that one of the benefits of the wine club is not paying that sommelier fee. The reason we charge this fee is because you are getting to drink wine at retail prices and get to avoid the 200-300% markup at most restaurants.     We went there the first time and we really enjoyed our dinner. The menu is limited but who needs a 10-page menu when everything is good? We had a flight of wines, spinach/artichoke dip and a couple of flat breads. We had a nice relaxing meal and took home the leftovers.

    Super cute wine bar/mini restaurant. The food was delicious, the wine was AMAZING and customer service was top notch. We sat at the bar and loved it. It was a last minute decision to try this place out, my best friend and I booked the reservations 15 min before arriving and so glad we did! Definitely will visit again.

    Best hidden gem in the area! Selfishly I’d like to keep it a secret but it’s too good not to share. Every meal there is a treat. Patrick and Abby provide friendly and knowledgeable service and the kitchen does wonderful things. Kudos to Shaun (owner) for creating something truly special in Ashburn.

    Intimate space surrounded by wines from around the world. Sean is a gracious host, and suggested the perfect pairing for our dinner - Albarino with delicious crab cakes. We will definitely make a return visit.

    A wonderful, community bistro that does food and wine correctly. Limited menu but many good offerings. Owner Shawn and his lovely daughter were onsite and had a presence in the shop/dining room. The atmosphere felt more like a gathering of friends in a private wine cellar. I highly recommend.

    This is a really wonderful place to relax. The staff is very knowledgeable about the wine. The menu is small but very tasty and the new addition of Oma’s beef stew is marvelous. Great place.

    I truly wanted to love this place, especially since it's locally owned and right in our neighborhood. However, we found the food at AWS to be "good", but not outstanding and certainly not worthy of the prices they charged. We were a little put off that the wine flights aren't priced and until they were served to us we didn't know a flight was only 3 wines. We also didn't know the wine we chose from the flight was $70/bottle (shame on me for not asking before I ordered it). The staff and owner were really polite and attentive, but I doubt we'll return unless we're looking for a really special bottle of wine.

    Wanted a different experience tonight so thought about our neighborhood wine shop that now boasts a full kitchen. Enjoyed it! Of course, the wine and wine recommendations were outstanding. To be expected. And the food was fabulous…. Small menu but every item thoughtfully done. Shrimp scampi dip was gone in seconds. Husbands had the beef stew, and they asked for refills. (No luck!). Flatbreads are with returning for, we had the Italian and the brisket. We will be back!
