Vegetarian Kebab Platter
A selection of four of our favourite vegetarian starters
We've been to many of the 'top' Indian restaurants in Birmingham and this surpassed them all. The staff were very friendly, the service very efficient and the food delicious, we will certainly be back.
Lovely setting, great food and excellent service.
The food was hot and delicious. My husband who had an Indian for the first time was pleasantly surprised. The price was very expensive though. Perfect for special occasions but not every month.
We have been to Ashas several times before and this is the first time we were disappointed.
We weren’t even given the menu card or offered drinks till 30 min after we were seated.
The booking was at 2, so this meant we were extremely hungry.
Then after ordering, 2 of our cocktails did not come till after our starters were served and on us asking them!
This was a special occasion so made it a pretty poor expertise!
Then at mains we were served chicken tikka masala and not salmon. We did point it out to the gentleman who insisted it’s salmon and clearly it wasn’t. Another person came in and apologised and we got the salmon. By then the kids had already eaten and we didn’t even touch the salmon.
All in all a very disappointing visit on our anniversary and I am not sure I will recommend anymore.
Amazing! Presidents platter never fails. Lovely staff and a great cocktail list. Best cosmo in birmingham
Lovely food, just a tad disappointing that our table was by the door
Lovely food, good sized portions and beautifully spiced. Staff were friendly and attentice. Decor and ambience were great. A good place for a special occasioin
Food wasn’t spicy enough!! Toilets should be cleaned every 30 minutes for a restaurant of this repute . Everything else was perfect!!
Lobster in the president’s platter was fantastic.
Amazing food with brilliant service.
Food is another level.
Well this restaurant certainly needs a touch up ..table was dirty and could see scratch marks
Toilets dirty ..
Had the Executive Lunch menu.
Food quality was very good.
Service and value for money were also very good
Would highly recommend
Thanks to this on going nightmare this was our first visit in two years. Was not disappointed , good food and great service , not cheap but worth every penny.
look forward to next visit.
Beautifully spiced food, and plenty of it. If your considering the Asha's experience set meal option - be sure to arrive with a very empty stomach. Service was top notch too.
We visited this last night based on recommendation by a friend.
The visit wasn’t worth it. Service was really poor. The food was spicy and we asked for normal water. We waited for 15mins and there was no sign of water so I ended up walking to the bar to get water.
The bar staff said they will bring us water to our table so we waited another 5mins.
As the point of serving water, the waiter didn’t point we have to pay for the water too as I only asked for tap water.
We hardly could enjoy our food as it was too spicy so paid £110 for nothing
Wouldn’t visit again.
I would ask the waiter or server how spicy the food is before ordering so you don’t face any disappointment.
Food was lovely, service wasn’t good at all, defo not value for money over priced for crap service
A wonderful dining experience. Top quality food served by attentive staff in a superb environment.
I was ultimately quite disappointed with Asha's, and maybe because I had booked a table for November back in July the whole thing had built up to be more than it was going to be, but for the prices that are being charged, there could be much more attentive service. Our waiter was lovely, charming and friendly, but the standard of service is not where the price mark would indicate.
For example, if I pay £40 for a bottle of wine, I don't think that over half the bottle should be poured into two glasses initially, it's too much, that's two massive glasses of wine, the glasses were nearly full. I also think that our wine should have been poured by the waiter during dinner. I did pay £40 (£40!) for it. I also think that our water should have been poured during dinner. I don't want to sound like someone who can't pour their own drinks, but this is an expensive restaurant and the service should reflect that. If the customers' glasses are empty, refill them (with an appropriate amount)!
I also don't think that (at the prices), that the staff should appear at the table with our meals asking "who ordered this?" and "who ordered that?". There were only 2 of us, and surely (again, at the prices) the person taking the order could note who ordered what.
After our main we were given a little sachet with a hot wipe in it (which was nice) but the waiter then used my husband's wipe to clean down our table. First of all, Covid; second of all, really? Using a face wipe to clean the table? Just not appropriate.
The food was good, I enjoyed the meal, but without wanting to say "at the prices" again... it was overpriced. And I think all the staff were very pleasant, no criticism of them, just the level of service needs to be elevated (and yeah, at the prices). Meal was £130 before service charge for 2 starters, 2 mains, rice and naan, coffee and the £40 bottle of wine.
The food was very good and tasty and came very quick. However I didn’t appreciate being made to sit at the front of the restaurant where there was a draft from the entrance door. I later realised there was more seating at that back that was much nicer. I did mention in my reservation that it was a special birthday meal for my husband but this didn’t make a difference. I would recommend for the food although I think it’s quite expensive.
The food was delicious ,presentation and taste good would certainly recommend and visit again.
Fantastic food and drinks great wines and beers good service all round .was looked after by a lovely lady called Esther thank you Esther for a lovely evening.
Will definitely be going again.
Great service and excellent quality food. The restaurant was very noisy which was the only drawback. Overall I was impressed and would go back without any hesitation.
We had an exceptional meal at Asha's and book every time we come up to Birmingham.
Repeating customer and as usual food, service and atmosphere was just excellent.
Another excellent eating experience at Asha's. Food superb, atmosphere excellent and service good as ever. A little pricey and prices seem to have gone up significantly since our last visit, but still worth a visit for a special occasion
Great service and as always - food is fantastic, will visit again soon.
Upon arrival we were sat in a booth near the kitchen end. A strong vibration sound was very uncomfortable and our hears could not tolerate it. We waiting for about 10 minutes before someone attended to drinks request. We asked to be moved which was acceptable.
The wait to take our order was 10-15 mins. The food was disappointing, very bland, butter chicken tasted like tomato soup.
General wear and tear is evident and the whole experience was not worth the money we paid. Our expectations were based on many previous visits. Unfortunately the restaurant has declined in more than one section.
One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a awhile, and THE BEST Indian restaurant ever! 10/10 have recommended to everyone, amazing drinks, service and food!
The meals, ambience and service were very good. Food came by timely, even if we made extra orders and we had a good time.
Worst experience ever! We were given a table 30 mins late , and told that they could only offer for 90 mins . Service was super slow ! I asked for the dessert menu and they said your time’s up ( 90 minutes in total , when it was booked for 120 mins ) . I was thoroughly embarrassed in front of my guests and we decided to leave and go somewhere else for dessert . In my opinion the food was average too . My advice is don’t waste your money here , go somewhere else and have nicer food and service !!
Always excellent in terms of food quality, service and appropriate attentiveness to detail
Amazing and consistent food but sadly let down by poor service. After initially sitting down and being served drinks quickly we waited nearly 30 minutes before ordering food and they only came because my wife had to go up to the front of house to complain.
Food was great. But the only put us off was the waiter who Toke our orders. He could have been more friendly and same time better manner. I had far better serving experience in Ashas before. His standard of service not match with the Ashas that I knew.
Food good/excellent in places
Totally let down by service. we were served by over 10 waiters and had to ask for things we need 3 times over. Totally disorganised i.e. we asked for the wine list, the waiter then asked another waiter who asked another and so on and so on... result - we received no wine list. Same to order (yes, we had to ask 3 times to put our food order in!!) same to order more drinks, same for the bill.
weird. won't return and won't recommend.
The food here is amazing. Everything was absolutely perfect, with great service in a nice setting. Noise levels at the back of the restaurant were perfect too, with the group able to chat easily across the table and be heard clearly. Will definitely be going back for seconds.
great meal good service, even ordered off of menu
we went a while ago and was very impressed went last night had boatman prawn curry and it was horrible we never ate it and was offered no refund
One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to. Some amazing choices on the menu. The settings are nice.
