Always great food and service... Burrata a must have!!!
Great food! Fast service! Good for young professionals
The highlight was our waiter. He was incredibly attentive and helpful when deciding what our food options were. As the only vegan in the group, I was happy that there was an option for me other than side veggies. The only negative was the bar staff. While waiting for the table it was difficult to get their attention. One of the bartenders hardly smiled. Again, the dining experience with our wonderful waiter made up for that!
The food here is delicious. Awesome atmosphere. Courteous waiters and waitresses.
I went back to this restaurant because I loved it the first time. I ordered the short rib the first and second time. The first time it was amazing. The second time it was mostly fat the food was inedible and I ended up being really sick. Extremely disappointed with my second experience
Great as usual!
Everything was perfect. The only downside was there was NO ONE there on a Friday night at 8:30. This was my second time there and the last time was an awesome vibe. The place was packed, the food was good and this time there were maybe three other tables of people which was just bizarre. Especially since the food and location are good!
Very good food, calm and cozy ambiance
Food was very good , so was service. A bit loud for my taste, hard to carry a conversation. Felt a bit uncomfortable when my credit card was requested to hold reservation. Never had to do that before and this is not high end. But overall, good.
Good, plentiful food, well prepared. Very attentive staff, hovering around to assist. Wine prices are somewhat off the wall, otherwise everything else is appropriately priced.
Great food, good service, nice ambiance, all you'd hope for in a very good restaurant.
The restaurant is beautiful! The food is great! Service was quick to be Valentine's Day
Food was very good and service was good; however, music was a bit too loud - it felt more like I was in a bar than in a restaurant. I wouldn’t go there on a date. Good for a girls night out or to go with friends. I would go back there.
Visited during restaurant week. Fabulous food and service.
I’m vegan and although they didn’t have much on menu for me they were very accommodating. Wait service was great, constantly refilling coffee and made me a special breakfast of bagel avocado. Companion has great omelette.
Excellent food in a beautiful setting!
We asked for a wines by the glass list. The waiter dropped off the menus and then disappeared for 25 minutes.
Fantastic Good, very creative menu. Beautiful decor and terrific wine list. What more could you ask for? Try the eggplant ravioli.
Welcoming was pleasant. Service was good. Food was good. It’s not really my type of a Italian restaurant. Price is reasonable. The atmosphere was quiet for a Saturday night.
Lovely !
Great live music
Great food
Lovely staff
Beautiful restaurant
Going to chalk up a bad experience to New Year's Day and understaffed restaurant. We went for a Gilt City brunch, and were greeted warmly. Restaurant (in Royalton Hotel) is pretty. Mushroom flat bread/pizza was delicious, but restaurant was out of chicken panini sandwich (it was only 1 pm). Burgers and fries were cold and under-cooked when they arrived - sent one back to be warmed up, and it was nearly 1/2 hour before we got it back (so 2nd entree by then was inedibly cold). Fries reheated in the kitchen were still cold. Server was extremely nice, but helpless to a slow kitchen.
Excellent bread and calamari...great Buratta pizza
Superb experience.
Food and service waster both excellent and the place has a great decor. We were very surprised that there were only a handful of other tables dining at 8pm on a Saturday night.
Awesomeness
Asellina has so much to commend. There's the convenient close-to-midtown location, the subtle but eye-catching décor, an excellent cocktail and wine list... But above all it's the food that makes one come back again and again. Love the selection of appetizers that are perfect for sharing (the fried stuffed olives are beyond delicious). Main courses ranging from pastas to meat and fish dishes are also excellent. And ordering one of their pizzas for the table is a must-do!
Usually too full for dessert, this time we shared a couple and they were truly a taste treat -- a chocolate mousse cake and layered crepe tiramisu. The manager, Ms, Diaz, is a real pro and knows how to make every guest feel special and valued. And a shout out to our waiters Vernon and Astra who epitomized great service that is pleasant, helpful and attentive. In sum, cannot recommend Asellina more highly for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's the kind of restaurant that always measures up, whatever the occasion.
We came upon this place last minute, after the restaurant we had booked turned out to be more of a loud bar. It was wonderful! Great menu, great service, delicious cocktails - good for a place if you want to be able to have a conversation. Very glad we found this place!
I love Asellina ! Since my first time there 2 years ago,and the whole ambiance with the DJ animated corner, which gives the option of free your emotions without feeling uptight or limited to dining!
My only confusion was, that in my mind,if you are in the restaurant,(and I know the rooftop is separated) it would give us some preference to go up there??
Just my opinion!
Overall I love it and recommend it!!
For a get together a great place ! Good food and ambience
If you've got something on the menu on Open Table. Honor it or don't use OpenTable.
Simple right , not so much.
Also the Nero Pizza is normally wonderful, either they ran out of squid ink or changed the recipe or chef from the previous few times I have been there, it was horrendous with far too much cheese.
Nobody in restrant ! Poor service
Door was excellent
Very nice. Food was good. Service excellent. Place is pretty. Could use a couple of three more "moderately" priced bottles of wine on the menu.
Liked very much. I'd go back again in a heartbeat
The food was not good
Spaghetti did not taste fresh
Lamb rack was too cooked
The other meals were average
Service was good thanks to the server who was very nice
We were dining early at 6pm on a Saturday so it was fairly quiet. Pizzas were good and wait staff friendly
The food and ambience were great, but the best part was the service. Everyone was so friendly, prompt, and appropriately attentive without being overly annoying. I wish every restaurant had service this great - makes the whole experience so much better!
We were at Asellina on a Saturday night. The restaurant was not overly crowded, but not empty either. That level of business made the noise level acceptable. We found the food to be delicious. Two of us had the seafood pasta, which was scrumptious. The other two had the whole fish of the day, which was also a big hit. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to others.
Bad service and extremely bland food. Avoid the bolognese!!!
I selected this spot to meet a friend to catch up. We loved it for the decently priced Happy Hour menu. The food we ate was very good. The Melanzana eggplant Parmesan appetizer and the Linguini Neri dish was delicious - -squid ink pasta with lobster, shrimp, asparagus and Campari tomatoes. I would come here again!
I feel the quality of service has gone down - we were one of just a few tables on a saturday and it seemed the staff was in a hurry to get us out. One of our drinks wasn't delivered until we asked; and our server didn't really check in until it was time to drop dessert menus (did the how are things seconds after our plates were set down). Food was still good (nothing spectacular) and pricing still seems in line with the neighborhood and being a hotel restaurant. Used to be a go-to for neighborhood but may need to reconsider.
Overall, the meal was wonderful. However.... It was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was NOT busy. Half-way through our meal, the staff starting picking up all the plates and glassware on the empty table. Mind you, it was only 9pm. It definitely gave the feeling that they wanted to get out of there as soon as our meal was done. Not the way to celebrate an anniversary.
