Beautiful view but very uncomfortable chairs - Way too deep for a normal size person. The food was really only OK one dish we had to send back. it was not crowded but the service was rather rushed
Great ambience with superb views from the huge glass windows on one side. Not aimed at families, so a good place if you want to escape and have a relaxing drink.
Nice space and view. Not a place to go on a Sat night if you want to be able to talk with friends. The music is just too loud. As the space is not that big, no need for the music to be as loud as it is.
Nice view, nice concept. Menu offered a good variety of small bite options, which could suffice for a light dinner. We tried the road pork blt, grilled cheese and lobster rolls. The first two were ok, the lobster rolls were the winner. Too bread on the first two and nothing noteworthy about them, same with the cocktail. I had a watermelon mojito, again nothing noteworthy. After spending a few minutes trying to find my server to get the bill ( we were only one of two couples in the entire room) we left mildly satisfied. Having said that it's convenient if you work in the area, and would probably try it again, unless somewhere better popped up.
I was there on the early side for a biz drinks meeting. This is a great spot and I can imagine that at a
10:00 pm it is jumping. But I throughly enjoyed my cocktail and will go back.
Imposible conversar. La música estaba tan fuerte que no pudimos quedarnos.
Always the best for a drink and conversation with friends and someone you love. Amanda, our server was fantastic as always, as is everyone there. The hostess at the door has a wonderful presence and style to her, its great.
Great place. We will be back.
Private event — they take reservations, then kick you out. Embarrassing for business meetings.
Beautiful space and views. Very loud but a late night outing might be worth it.
We recently visited to New York for a week holiday. Within this time it was my wife’s birthday and I booked a table at Ascent for drinks and food.
When we arrived we were seated and gave our drinks order and also our food order.
However, they had a private party happening and all the focus was on this party.
We waited 1.25 hours for our food and nothing arrived. When we spoke to the reception they advised the kitchen was “smashed out with orders” but all the food coming out was going to the private party.
They couldn’t give an estimate on when we would receive our food.
Therefore we cancelled the order and left - this meant that on my wife’s birthday we didn’t get the nice meal and night out we were expecting.
Very poor indeed.
Really had high hopes for this place, but my overall experience was mediocre. While the space had nice views of the park, it lacked the atmosphere; it felt like a hotel lobby - soulless. The service was poor - starting with an impolite hostess, the waitress was not much better. Food/snack were nothing to write home about either. Drinks were fine. Having said that, it is unlikely I will be back.....
Chic and elegant decor, great DJ, and very good food and cocktails. Prices on par for the quality and location in NYC. Anyone surprised by the prices are tourists.
Interesting place, I went on a Friday afternoon at 430pm nowhere near a night time rush hour. First of,
they didn't seem too welcoming to me and oh boy! people working there seem so pretentious. I think they can take it easy and make it more into a real longue experience than make you feel like you are in sitting in place owned by the russian mafia.
I made a reservation but the hostess wouldn't seat me at place I wanted, she says "oh! those are reserved" and I said yep "I have a reservation" and being first to be there, I should be able to choose which reserved table I sit so I said "but you are seating me at one that says reserved so whats the difference" and she didn't have an answer, that was plain discrimination.
Also we felt uncomfortable with constant interruptions by the waitresses, you feel rushed as if they want to serve you and get you the hell out of the place. Thats even when there were like only a couple of guests at that hour. These guys really need a change in their management to something that is more customer-friendly not have an atmosphere of a mafia-run place. We didnt have anything to eat just drinks but no option in opentable so I gave good for food.
What a pleasant surprise we had when we walked into this gorgeous and happy lounge. The views are magnificent. Service was right on target. Lots of surprisingly complimentary (and tasty) treat weres passed around to our table. The menu was diverse enough to fill our needs before our show at the Time/Warner Center - and reasonably priced. Hostess, staff, and atmosphere were lovely. We would highly recommend stopping by.
The server was unaware how often her long hair draped in our food as she served us. Panini didn’t sit well after we left.
I came here in a Thursday night after watching the ballet at Lincoln center. While the room was not crowded, only a few tables were occupied, the environment and vibe was still great. Drinks are great and the food is very tasteful. It’s a little bit pricy. But that’s NYC.
As normal - another great night for my wife and me. I have to say that the experience begins as so as you walk in with Tata greeting you. Her energy, smile and presence are such that you just feel welcome and relaxed and you know you've come to the right place. Much love for her and the rest of the team there as well. Very professional - they know when to approach and when to give some space...
Good but the front hosts were a bit rude. Overall tho, the drinks were delicious and the food was good! The views here were very pretty since we’re pretty high up and the couches and setups were nicely done. I love the pink velvet couches. My friends and I did a mini photoshoot and the servers and staff didn’t bother us so that was really cool even though we were sitting all over their windows and stuff, of course we didn’t do it in an intrusive and rude way :)
Wonderful place to eat, drink, and relax before JALC. Great view overlooking Columbus Circle anfdCentral Park. Small plates, good menu selection. Eat as much or as little as you want. Well stocked bar. Great drink menu. Friendly, attentive, but not intrusive service. All in all a pretty terrific place.
The waitress was ill prepared to be serving us and made multiple mistakes throughout the night.
I had a great time there celebrating my friend’s birthday. The food was great. view was fabulous and service was impeccable!
Ascent just oozes "cool," go and enjoy the great vibe, the view, the location. The service was gracious and helpful. The manager went the extra mile to get my martini just perfect, and it was most appreciated.
Ascent was great—really good vibe, music, food and drinks. The only issue we had was with the service. Would definitely recommend if you’re not looking to have a quiet dinner.
Very loud. Several holiday parties going on and DJ volume was deafening. Very hard to get a drink at a table. Hardly ever saw the waitress. Bartenders were very attentive and made good cocktails. Excellent Manhattans, but had to go to the bar to get drinks because wait staff disappeared for long periods of time.
The place had an event that was not announced and not finished when me and my date got there at6:45. We could not Enter until after 7:00 and then didn’t get a table till much later while the room was cleaned and organized. But the staff was friendly and did there best and they comped me for a few wines which I appreciated
Great food and atmosphere
I was surprised that Management requires their female staff wearing super short skirts. If that is your concept of presenting Ascent Bar i am not going to come back.
We went here after a concert in the TW Center. The atmosphere is beautiful, with lots of glass overlooking the UWS. Music was a bit too loud for my taste. The food was mediocre & as is typical in TW, overpriced.
This was very disappointing - we had friends in town and were looking forward to having a drink and some apps at this place...and when we got there it was closed for a private event! Whywould the restaurant or opentable allow us to book a reservation in a night where it was closed to the public. There was nothing we could do AND nowhere else around that could take us - everything else was booked. Very upsetting.
Way cool place. Unfortunately, it is not for people who can't take noise. It was waaaay too loud; so, we didn't stay. The last time we were there, it was noisy but pleasant. This time, it was so loud the thump of the music interfered with my heart beat ! (just kidding, but it was really loud)
one of the best bars in NYC. The fact that it's in a "mall" I think people underestimate it. It is a beautiful HUGE space that has a great view of Columbus Circle. Overall just a great lounge bar.
Perfect spot for high-end client meetings, can be as dressy or casual (but not T shirt and shorts casual) as you want it to be. Excellent service, great views from panoramic mind blowing windows, terrific modern spacious room in a perfect part of town. A little bit noisy but you get used to it quickly. Ascent is a total 10.
Great service, good menu with something for everyone. Wonderful atmosphere. It will be one of our go to places.
I had SUCH a GREAT time. I forgot who my hostess was and I REALLY need to get her name cause she was BEYOND AMAZING!!!! I was told the menu is changing in two weeks so I WILL be returning.
Excellent DJ, cocktails, ambiance, and food. Thank you!
Went to Ascent for after drinks for my daughters birthday. We had an amazing time. DJ was on point.
Will definitely be back, Love the vibe!!!
Celebrated my birthday here with friends. We ordered drinks and foods-everyone loved everything and the staff was lovely and took care of our needs quickly. Would highly recommend this venue and the views of Columbus Circle cannot be beat.
I reserved a table for 12 am on the app and the restaurant called me as soon as I entered telling me the kitchen was closing soon and that it was last call. They then allowed us to sit to order drinks and food and then they made us wait 10 minutes and then came to tell us the kitchen was closed. Horrible service and treatment. Why let us sit if you purposely make us wait til the kitchen is closed and then tell us the kitchen closed when we try to order food . Never coming here again. Why allow me to make a reservation if they can’t honor it correctly for the customer?
Mu only complaint was the music. We went at 5 pm on a very slow Tuesday and the pounding music didn't seem appropriate for the "crowd" or the time of day. Understand it is a bar/lounge but...
