Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi
For parties of 12 or more, we invite you to contact our private dining manager, Rachel Howie, at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your reservation or fill out an inquiry at www.ascendprime.com/request-an-event/. Also while we welcome your celebrations, we ask that you not bring any balloons with you as we have high ceiling and they pose a cleaning problem. Thank you
We happily open bottles for $40 per 750ml bottle. There is a 2 bottle limit, and we request the wine you bring is not on our list.

The view of the restaurant was gorgeous but neither the service or the food is worth a visit. We were left unattended most of the time and our servers couldn't keep track of what we had or not. There were several times when our food came but we didn't have any utensils. The pumpkin in the side vegetable dish was raw. We will not be returning.
Food is tremendous, some of the beat steaks you’ll find. Ambiance is also very hip and trendy. Where they fall down is the service, it’s just not what you would expect. The little things are off. They have really nice sushi but they use break away cheap chopsticks (?). Their glass ware is super cheap (try to cheers with a glass of champagne and it’s a dud sound). We had to refill our own wine from the bottle we bought. My wife went to the bathroom and came back to find her napkin on the floor (not folded nicely on the table). Crumbs left on the table by the waitstaff. If they buttoned up their service this would be the hottest steak house in Seattle/Bellevue. As is it’s a real let down and inconsistent with the food and ambiance, and not what you would expect given the price.
Beautiful venue with great views. Food was excellent, albeit on the pricey side. Hamachi was extremely fresh. Ribeye was very good and cooked perfectly, but for the price it should have been.
Great food. Good service. Expensive but delicious.
It was wonderful. We were dinning for about 2.5 hours. Service was slower then other times but I believe it’s do you the business of the night. 😊
What a wonderful treat for our family! The food was delicious, especially the cocktails, Foie Gras, sushi rolls and truffle mac and cheese. Steaks were good but not best ever. But the service and the overall experience made it a completely wonderful experience. We look forward to coming back!
service needs lots of improvement. this was my 2nd time and service didnt improve. We were seated near the patio door and the curly hair waiter climbed over the edge to hand me my entree. It was unprofessional and definitely not safe at all. The waitress didnt pay attention if we needed to refill water. it was mentioned that it's for two people's birthday celebration. The hostess mentioned it but the waitress didnt mention the whole meal. Appertiers and main dishes were not served at the same time for all guests. just randomly brought out when the chef finished the dishes. would expect Ascend has similar service as Ruth Chris or Daniel's. IHOP or Dennys probably have better services than Ascend. Totally disappointed.
We went to Ascend with my wife several times and always considered it the best restaurant in Bellevue.
Unfortunately, this time our experience was really, really bad.
We had a reservation with our friends at 8 pm. We came at 8.04 and a hostess told us that we would be seated “shortly”.
She did not suggest us to sit at the bar or anywhere else. After waiting for 10 minutes I had to ask her again and she told us “just wait a minute”. Finally, at 8.29 we were seated. No apologies, nothing. It’s not the level of service I would expect of this restaurant-at least before. I’m not sure we will come again.
I am sorry you had this experience! Sometimes a table needs to be re-set up from a previous party, which might take additional time. However, in that occurrence, extra hospitality efforts should have been taken on our part. I will pass along your feedback to our general manager. We hope you give Ascend another try! Very Best, The Ascend Prime Steak and Sushi Team
Great experience for a nice dinner. I ordered the branzino fish and that was delicious!
Setting is beautiful and the food typically outstanding. Our server was very professional and fun. He was stellar at remembering the names of all six in our party. The one big deterrent to making this an enjoyable experience is the music...way, way too loud and, puzzling to me, nothing but EDM (Electronic Dance Music). The type of music and the volume of such is absolutely counter to the otherwise classy nature of the place...baffling to me, to my wife and to our guests. Why should we have to lean forward to hear the person across the table and why should we be prevented from hearing the person at the opposite corner of the table?
A few weeks prior to this dining date, I called a business client to arrange a dinner. He lives in Bellevue. I suggested Ascend. He replied, “no thank you, how ‘bout somewhere else? I ate at Ascend once and swore I’d never go back, it is so loud there I couldn’t hear myself think.”
Gave a 1 star because there was no choice for 0.
Awful night!!!!! Shocking service 30 mins for a drink to arrive and the rudest kid working at the front desk.
Really really deteriorated!!! Will never return
Well, we went expecting a high end experience. Unfortunately we got confusion with our reservation (made well in advance) food that included cold soup, pre-made sushi rolls, over cooked beef, and a “manager” that insisted that we were wrong about our temperatures.
Not only that, items were forgotten from orders & the re-fire on the meat resulted in the spitting of cold meat back on the plate.
They did comp the food - too little too late.
And btw ask how many bottles of wine are available when you order because after two they will tell you they’re out & try to replace it with a more expensive bottle.
Signs to restaurant elevator on the ground floor of the building are confusing and do not lead to the elevator for the restaurant!
Some regular bread would be nice.
Main course fish and scallops were great.
Would be good if the main courses came with vegetables and carbs.
I thought the desert dishes got too fancy, so they appeared contrived and forced.
Worst experience ever. Tried to take my managers for a Holiday lunch and $400 later after they sat us at a crappy table (even though I requested nice view) and they were out of so many menu items, even pasta! We went at 11:30am... how are you out of pasta when it is one of your lunch specials?!?! Service was terrible, way overrated. I was very disappointed.
I keep returning to Ascend. The high-style food and matching ambiance guarantee a special occasion. The wine list, as well, is worth noting.
But the service, every single time, has been lacking. Unfilled water glasses, slow to take the dinner order, slow to bring wine. They have a habit of putting your champagne in a bucket away from the table but then don't come back to pour. It's a shame that the wait staff's attention is incongruous with the otherwise world-class setting and the chef's creations.
A group of 7 of us chose Ascend based off recommendations and accolades we'd all individually heard. To say it was a disappointment is an understatement. We all expected it to be expensive, but we also expected it to be worth it, and it was not. The visions for various plates were tragically executed, without even remotely interesting flavor profiles, without thought to textures and balance, and with no consideration of the diner's user experience. (You want me to do what to eat this?) The setting is nothing short of stunning. The service bordered on laughably pretentious, but in the end it was, at least, superbly executed. We will not be back for a meal, but might not be able to resist a drink in the bar with its incredible view and sumptuous seating.
great experience and food. the only odd factor is that it seemed like our primary server didn't seem to know that we were planning on ordering food. we ended up flagging someone else down to take our order. Recommendations for main course would have been nice too. Overall great food presentation, wine and desert choice etc.
I’ll send feedback directly to management
Staff was great, environment was nice, pricing is over the top and probably not worth the overall experience.
The food was delicious and beautiful. The view was spectacular. Our waitress Tanya was great: checked on us, took our orders fast and made food float out perfectly. Tanya is the one made our experience great and was very nice!!! Thank you, Tanya!
The hostess at the front was clueless: I had reservations @1115 am and we arrived 5 min prior only, she made us wait at the bar lounge, which is fine, because she said: she still needed to sit people down before us (which was only one couple🤣), but she made us wait till 1140 am and walking us to the table wasn't even sure where to sit us, but that is kinda usual experience with hostess like at Joey's 🤣 But thank you for delicious food and smart waitress Tanya!
The view never gets old. Our server was less than friendly
Love this place. Work in the building and have frequented it for business and personal. Food and service is fantastic, and you pay for it. Prices are fancy, but worth it. Come here for business lunch and you can order a $31 meal - super cost effective. Highly recommend.
Had a delicious dinner with the family (6 adults and 2 children) at Ascend
I would recommend for special occasions or business meetings. Great for romantic evening and unique experience.
Thanks Zebert! We appreciate you taking the time to write a positive review.
Went for their Thanksgiving buffet with Bloody Mary bar. Very happy with our choice as we had zero clue it was on the 31st floor and we’d have such a great view. Food was good, not great but I’ll also potentially chalk that up to the buffet aspect. Definitely interested in coming again for a normal meal
Awesome! We appreciate your feedback, and look forward to your return.
Great ambiance, unique and modern. Everything out of the kitchen was incredible. You should expect to drop some coin on a culinary experiment such as Ascend offers, but $1100 for 6 when 2 in the party aren’t drinking, is a bit steep.
Beautiful location. The food was good but not great given the price that was completely out of the range of reasonable.
Thank you, PetP, for your thoughts. I will relay your comments to management. We always appreciate guests feedback!
I work in hospitality at a high end private club in F&B, this meal experience was by far one of my most favorite and memorable. It was an event not just a meal, and the service at every aspect was unbelievable. Well done, I will boast about this for years.
We're happy we lived up to your expectations! Join us again, soon.
Beautiful restaurant and experience.
At night I felt like it was a bit too dark for my liking but the food, service, and views made up for it.
My only complaint was we were offered 3 choices of bottled water and I wasn’t told there would be a charge for what I chose. Now I know!
On a positive note, the customer service and presentation are always pleasant! Both special occasions I experienced the same welcoming service and knowledgeable staff.
The views are really nice either day or night looking out. The food was good, but fell a bit short of other big city steakhouses of the same caliber. The restaurant was also out of our first choice meat and fish which was a disappointment given we arrived before 7pm on a Saturday night. Service was very good. The table next to us was very loud and we found it difficult to hear each other at our own table so left before dessert.
Thank you, KellyN for your feedback. I will pass along your food issues to culinary so this doesn't happen again! We're happy you enjoyed everything else.
Great ambience, good service, over-rated and over-priced food. Our waitress suggested the waygu steak because it would be more flavorful. It was not, and it was served luke-warm and more rare than medium rare. The mushrooms were salty, as were the scallops. My wife suggested that next time we just come for a drink in the bar but eat elsewhere.
I read about this place in a travel magazine and knew I had to go! I've talked it up so much in my head I was afraid I had too high of expectations. In fact, this place was even better! Amazing ambiance, gorgeous views, and prompt staff. My only recommendation is not to go there when your starving or you will rack up your bill. However, the food was definitely worth the price!
Thanks Kellie for your review! We're happy you tried us out!
The food was excellent! The service was great! The prices were as high as the restaurant that's on the 31st floor.
Some different music would be nice. Anything but pop
Thanks for your suggestion. I will pass along this feedback to management! Thanks!
We had a fabulous experience from the food and service to the view!
It was a great one time experience, however, I was very disappointed with the service. I specifically requested a table by the window in my reservation, however, we were seated elsewhere. Moreover, there were several window tables available the entire time we were there. My husband ordered a drink that was never brought to him. We mentioned it as we were leaving and the gentleman helping us said he forgot to place that order. We ended up waiting 10 more minutes for it and my husband didn't even get to enjoy it with his dinner since we were long done with food by that time. A few minutes after ordering our dinner, we got two plates and some utensils set on our table. I fidgeted with mine, straightening it out but immediately someone else came and took those plates and utensils away without saying a word to us and set it on the table next to us. I felt like this was a little rude since we were given no explanation, but worse than that, the couple at the next table got the plates and utensils we touched.
Overall, I'm not super impressed but it was quiet and the esthetic of the restaurant was pleasing.
