Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi
For parties of 11 or more, we invite you to contact our private dining manager, Rachel Lloyd, at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your reservation or fill out an inquiry at www.ascendprime.com/request-an-event/. Also while we welcome your celebrations, we ask that you not bring any balloons with you as we have high ceiling and they pose a cleaning problem. Thank you
We happily open bottles for $40 per 750ml bottle. There is a 2 bottle limit, and we request the wine you bring is not on our list.

Food overpriced and mediocre. Paid for a bottle of water, but was only given one glass. Will never go back!
For the price, the food was not up to par. I will stick to Ruth's Chris for my steaks. Didn't try the sushi, but it looked good.
Delicious and creative menu. Presentation and dining service superb. I will definitely come back and inform family and friends about how great our experience was.
The steak and sides were amazing.
Food was amazing. One steak was ordered medium and came out well done. The asst manager was quick to rectify the problem and even brought new sides with the new steak. Our waiter was just awkward and I was disappointed that he did not acknowledge my allergy which was in our reservation and then once informed was not at all knowledgeable on the menu. Extremely expensive - if service had been stellar price would have been worth it though.
Ascend delivers on ambiance, flavor, and service. A special place for a special occasion.
We are ‘foodies’ and we have high standards. It takes a lot of pizzazz to blow us away. Ascend blew us away. I don’t think any more needs to be said. Wow. Just...wow!! Best of what’s around. In a 500 mile radius.
Superb dining experience! We will godefinitelt back for dinner soon!
Very loud table next to us seemed a work event with 4 men using profanity non stop and yelling. It really ruined the romantic mood I was going for my date and not an over all food experience hearing bunch of drunk men yelling and the staff didn’t do much about it. Spend $400 here and could have been atmosphere wise better to take my date to a more quiet and romantic scene. Won’t go back and won’t recommend it for family or dates just work events perhaps It made my date uncomfortable listening to that language the entire dinner
Service a little slow at first, but ambiance and views are spectacular. Food was very good but expensive
The scenery from the restaurant is spectacular. The sushi was outstanding and the 6 oz. filet was perfect. The wine is a little pricey, but the overall experience was worth it. I took five of my customers there and they loved it.
We had a fabulous leisurely 2 hour lunch at Ascend. We showed up for our reservation just a few minutes after it opened, and were very glad that we were so early, because we were shown to what we think might have been one of the best two-top tables in the place - against the floor-to-ceiling windows, full view of Bellevue Park, Medina, Lake WA, the Seattle skyline and snow-capped Olympic mountains in the distance, on a sunny clear day! The view was stunningly jaw-dropping, and made us want to linger there as long as possible. We opted for the $31 "31 Lives Menu – Three Course Lunch" and we were enthralled by the artistic presentation of each course and we slowly savored each delicious bite. We went there knowing it would be expensive so we chose to order just tap water with our meals, but we did add $3 to order my dessert "Skyfall" which was a very entertaining dessert! So for us, the costs were not outrageous, and we had just enough food that we did not walk out hungry. The service was friendly and timely - we think that being one of the first people in the restaurant for the day helped optimize this. All in all, an enchanting experience (loved the dramatic tree roots suspended above us!).
It is too expensive for the food they serve/ and their service is not good. Constantly mess up orders, drop utensils on the grand. View is amazing - that’s the good part.
Not sure this restaurant will be relevant if this situation continues
The service was not optimal, but they are on the plus side to date.
Excellent location and food!
Our visit started with a tour of this beautiful venue--to show off the wood-fired grill and Tree Room. Very impressive!
Overall it was an enjoyable experience, good quality of food and engaging atmosphere. The only disappointment was the service who were trying too evidently and persistently to sell the more expensive menu choices - I found it a bit annoying and patronizing.
First time in and was amazed at the beauty of the restaurant. Didn’t get seated next to window despite there being lots available. It took 1.5 hrs to receive an appetizer and about a 45 min to get our wine.
It took 2 hrs to get our food. For the value the food I would say only average. Very small menu of sides to go along with any meat dish you may have. Small portions. Restaurant is only rated as a AVERAGE from the health department as of dec 18. Service was slow and not very friendly. It doesn’t match the beautiful view you get. If they could get the service better and the food menu larger it may warrant the price. The small filet I had was anything better than a home cooked steak.
Food was not memorable, service was bad. Waiter forgot to put in our dessert order and by the time it arrived our coffee was cold and Skyfall was a big disappointment - a real production but a bust.
I had my birthday dinner at Ascend with my daughter. While I stepped in the restaurant, the feeling of understated luxury and the fantastic view impressed me so much!
We were treated with a friendly welcome by an usher. Our server was really nice to give us the thoughtful advice for our order.
In my experience, the meal here is good but not the best. It still has space for getting better to match its other excellent conditions.
My favorite food here is the appetizer and desserts. They’re creative, beautiful and tasty. I was pleased to try the Skyfall as my birthday dessert for free.
I will come back again.
Best view in Bellevue. A little loud and for the portions the food is too pricy.
Decided to splurge on final night of business trip from the UK. Entrance to the restaurant is stunning and it’s an awesome location. Staff very friendly. Food was very good but for the price just a notch down from top marks. For $88 - the price of my steak - I expect to be blown away, not just to think it’s pretty good. And that price is just for the steak, no potatoes, veg or sauce choice. They’re all extra. Dessert (thrown in free after an issue with ID for 28 year old colleague) was incredible though. A sharing glass bowl of parfait, meringue, choc mousse and various ‘crumb’ created as a fairy tale garden scene that was a total joy. Wine choice plentiful, prices from $50 up. This is event dining so comes at a premium, which is expected, but I wanted just that little bit more wow factor from the main event, the steak.
Aaron and his team made my brother's birthday lunch enjoyable and delicious. Matt did a super job serving us. The food was fantastic! This was my brother's first visit, and he commented several times how great the food tasted. He will be bringing his wife to dinner at Ascend soon.
My husband and I have been to Ascend several times. This time we were celebrating my sister's recent wedding and asked for a quiet table. Everything was going well until we sat down, it took 30 minutes to take our order. When someone finally took our order he said they were short staffed, when we wanted to order a wine, he said he would "hunt someone down" to take our order. As guests are paying over $90/steak I would expect better service then this. The meal took over 3 hours to complete.
View was awesome, great service and the filet was bucket-listable. They claim to have the worlds best Wagyu A5 filet and they did not let me down. I have yet to taste anything better.
Unbeatable view, good food and decor. Service however lacks training. We were very rushed into placing our orders. Our server came with our drinks and before she set anything down she already asked what we were ordering. She took our orders and explained dishes as she was setting down glasses, drinks, wine. Overall it was obvious she did not have the proper training for service etiquette.
The environment/ambiance was really nice and dark. Everything is very nice and new here. The menu could use some work though. Other high end steak houses have more veggie options. They couldn’t even give us Mac n cheese without crab? No French fries? The dessert menu was pretty trash also. We will probably come back but wasn’t the greatest experience. Service was very slow.
We booked a dinner for 7 to celebrate 2 birthdays. We knew it would be a >$1,000 meal but wanted to treat the family to a fine dining experience. Unfortunately the restaurant didn’t deliver. We started on a poor foot. We walked in and learned the hostess confused a party that had come in right in front of us as us and gave them our table. We were told to wait while they set a new table, and that we could go to the bar. They didn’t offer to comp us a drink or even help get us 7 seats together so we stood in the entrance. Almost 20 minutes later we were seated. The apology received was perfunctory and insincere. A 2nd hostess walks us to our table. She takes us by a display of meats and chefs tending a wood fire. There’s a thin explanation of how the place is great because there’s lots of meat in the display, I don’t think anyone that talked to us had great command of how to talk about high quality food and ingredients. Or they didn’t think we know about these things. For example, at dessert a dish was explained to me as being made from “really expensive chocolate.” Anyway, it was just lame service at fine dining prices at every turn. Wine list was an iPad with an app. So we have screen time at dinner, great. Our server didn’t know about the wine, so we picked things and gave her the item number on the app to order it. The menu is oddly composed. We ordered some sushi, a seafood tower, some mains, all the sides to share and all the deserts to share. We were seated in the second place table since the other party close by took ours. In contrast to the round table the other party had, ours was not right sized for 7, so spacing wasn’t comfortable. Table was too dark. Food came that we could barely see, so presentation work was wasted on every dish. Music was too loud for comfortable conversation. A server dropped a butter knife across my back clearing. Service items came at wrong times. I could go on. We didn’t receive the $225/person experience we paid for. Sad.
Everything from walking in to the view from the table was amazing. Staff was friendly greated with a smile by everyone, I recommended you say yes to the tour if it’s your first time. Drinks all great, pork belly appetizer literally melts in your mouth. Dinner steak was amazing perfectly cooked. And dessert is definitely a show.
Service was divine. Our waiter, Phillip, and his team were the absolute best. Fod was creative and delicious. Birthday dessert was extroidinary!
Best foods in the area! Way better than Canlis, better than John Howie. Superb foods.
I realize it's a steak house, but they need some seafood options, especially on lunch menu. The 2.5% surcharge for kitchen staff is a bit off-putting - I just deduct it from my normal 20% tip.
Think Daniel's with higher prices and smaller portions
Nice restaurant with great view. Our server was good, but our food took long. We waited almost 30 min until our steaks came out and we were already done with the appetizers we ordered. We went for my husband’s birthday and they gave him a birthday dessert which was nice.
No action taken on comment for overly salty appetizer. Pushy upsell to exclusive beef option. Poor wine recommendation, no action on comment.
There are so many things to like about Ascend but what gets it downgraded is the food. If you want a great restaurant experience with attentive service a wonderful view and fun cocktails Ascend is for you. If you are into food and have high expectations then the restaurant may let you down. At the prices and the expectation of quality one hopes that the food will be the star of the show. This was my second time at Ascend and have found the food puzzling in its inconsistency. Simple things should be easy to fix and they seem to miss. For example I had a steak with a side sauce. The steak was cooked fine and as I ordered but the sauce was served cold right from the fridge. This also happened with the salads that were served in that they seem to be served with very little concern to the salad preparation. It was as if I was getting a salad from Subway and they just threw it in a bowl hoping it would mix. I expect this at a pizza joint but not here. There are other aspects that seem out of place like the iPad drink menus. These seem gimmicky and are distracting at this level of service. Overall the restaurant food it too formulaic without enough attention to detail to ensure that the the food is the experience that shines.
In the end the question always is would I go there again? The answer is yes. However, I would not go for the food. Because of the wonderful location and great service it makes for a special evening and if that is your goal enjoy.
Great date night. Service was memorable and the food amazing. A bit loud tho.
Great view and wonderful food. That is where it ends - we were there for a celebration and enjoyed the $25 cocktails (maybe not) and then sat down to eat - we left the server up to helping build a great meal as we chatted and enjoyed our guests - this is where is went all wrong. Taking full responsibility of course, we do feel quite taken advantage of as we decided on 2x8oz portions of steak for guys and 2x6oz portion for gals. NOT ONCE did the server clarify to us that we were ordering almost $1100 worth of beef!! Yes, you are reading that right....... we were caught up in conversation and having fun when the bill arrived for $1650!!!!!!! (we already spent $160 on a couple of drinks - ouch). This amount also did not include tip. This was for four diners w/ a standard meal. I would highly recommend paying close attention to prices as we were not made aware that beef is priced by the ounce. BE VERY CAREFUL!!! So the celebration left our wives in tears as we were all in shock.........most likely will never return. Herb Farm is a nine course NW chef amazing experience for $695 for two and far more worth the money.
Everything was very high quality and delicious. Definitely higher end steak house. The 7 ounce filet mignon was a great value. The surprise for us was the chicken. It was without a doubt the best restaurant roasted chicken I have ever tasted. I would order that again. The only disappointment was the choice of salads. Too eclectic. If you don’t like seafood you’re out of luck. Adding a more traditional green or wedge salad would be appreciated by many. The Tantra dessert was to die for. A must have.
