Amazing food and incredible service! Couldn’t ask for more for a great night out.
Love my Birthday dinner and my free dessert 🍨 🥰 food was amazing 😉
Nice high end restaurant that is trying WAY too hard to be like the places in Vegas. This was the single most expensive meal I have ever had with two people. Its so high, it would be embarrassing to even admit the exact number. Nice food and great service but not at all worth the price. I can go to other much higher end restaurants in town for a third the price.
Only people I can recommend this restaurant for are those having business meals and have large expense accounts.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, Kerry. We appreciate the feedback and will discuss this within our team. Very Best, Elaina H., Owner
Company vendor function
Snobby front desk - the person who checked us in said they were so busy but only 1/3 of the place was filled at most.
Let's just address the elephant in the room. It's pricey. Whatever you've heard, it's gonna cost more than that. But it's an experience and there's just something about Ascend that makes me happy. The food is good, the wine list is very nice and you can't beat the view.
There is an odd rhythm to the service. It's very slow to get to the first course. Both times I've been it was at least 45 minutes between ordering and the food. Once the first course comes, the main comes right when you think it should. I think it's just how they do business.
I had Preston as my server twice and he was great both time. Eric, our wine guy, was fabulous. Yes, I'll go back.
Brunch was not good. They ran out of a lot of things. Unacceptable.
We apologize that food items ran low during your visit. Will you please consider sending us the name of your reservation and a valid email address? Our Assistant General Manager would like the opportunity to personally reach out to you. Very Best, Elaina H., Owner
Mother’s Day was the occasion. We love Ascend. We’ve been there several times. The posted end time of the event was at 4pm. But we were given 3:30 reservations. By that time most items were cold and/or depleted. We were informed that it was “over” at 4. After complaining to staff some hot food was put out but the bulk of our meal was over. It was disappointing to say the least.
I am so sorry to hear that your experience was anything short of flawless. Can we please get the name of your reservation and a valid email address? Our Assistant General Manager would like an opportunity to speak with you directly. Very Best, Elaina H., Owner
Everything was excellent for Mother’s Day brunch. Only complaint is they should be more careful with those of us with nut allergies- Caesar salad is not something that normally would contain nuts and the placards describing the dish were so small and you didn’t want to hold up the line to read each and every description.
The Mother’s Day Buffet Brunch was delightful. We look forward to returning for lunch and dinner and for the amazing, breathtaking views.
Service was wonderful.
We went to Mother’s Day brunch and the food was great! Could have used a few more varieties of sushi and salads but over all this place is super nice! Kids were disappointed there was no cotton candy
It was a fun and fancy treat on Mother’s Day for me and my girlfriend. Since we didn’t bring our kids, others did. So it was pretty noisy around where we sat. The place looked elegant and it seemed like you would have a view anywhere you sat. Seafood was good but the pulled pork was very dry. The varieties of food were impressive. They even had a station for us to make a bouquet of flowers. Overall we had a great experience.
All the food choices was excellent from sushi to oysters to the prime rib the desserts the breakfast food all great and fresh. Excellent customer service and perfect views from the tables.
The food is okay, service is not on par with the prices charged, but the view (from only a limited number of tables) is impressive; however, I could not recommend this place to others based on the fact that there are better options available for the price (i.e. Daniels).
CAUTION - Double check your actual credit card charges. When doing my budget review, the actual amount charged to my credit card was more than double what I actually signed for on the bill!
I chose to get engaged here and they made everything about the experience amazing. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The food was AMAZING!! Every bit as good as Canlis in everything from the service, ambiance, and of course the food. I can’t wait to go back!
We celebrated an occasion there with an amazing view of Seattle! Service was top of the line as usual.
Our waiter Hector was Phenomenal, vary attentive and fun to talk to to. Our food was flavorful and delicious!
I just wish we were put in the main dining room instead of closer to the bar. It was our first time there and also for our 20th anniversary dinner celebration. It was a bit loud and also we couldn’t get the best view of the sunset from where we were sitting.
Amazingly beautiful view! Expensive menu but the 3 course lunch menu is well worth the trip. All courses are delicious and well presented. The pork belly or branzino entree and miso hummus or salmon appetizer are not to be missed. The desserts are unique and flavorful!
First of all......the VIEWS!!! We were there around sunset, and it was spectacular. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and they treated us so well. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was very friendly, genuine, and attentive. Will most definitely be repeat customers!
Stunning! Ascend’s penthouse location is worth the small effort to get there. The views are excellent, as is the restaurant’s design. We enjoyed a weekday lunch in the uncrowned restaurant. I had the 3 course $31 prix fix deal, which was a great value. I think the lunch menu, and pricing, are very competitive and highly recommend Ascend for lunch if you’re in the market for sit-down service. The quality of the food, its presentation and the service were all top notch. Ascend gave my mom a complimentary dessert to help her celebrate her birthday. She enjoyed the experience so much she wants to go back next week (fyi, she rarely thinks a restaurant is even worthwhile to go out to once). I have also heard dinner is outstanding, even though it’s expensive. I look forward to seeing if dinner and happy hour at Ascend is as good as our lunch experience was.
All the staff was very accommodating for our birthday luncheon and the "birthday surprise" dessert was a hit! I am surprised there were no gluten free bread alternatives offered nor any non-dairy milk choices for coffee additives. Given most restaurants recognize this need for their customers, I would think high-end establishments would be particularly cognizant of this.
Amazing views of Seattle from the 31st floor. Wonderful ambiance - excellent menu whether you want steaks, fish or sushi. Nice wine list, although some selections can be pricey. We had a wonderful dinner and would come back again.
Fantastic view, excellent service. Food presentation was on point. Quality there but overpriced. But for the previously mentioned, it is worth a visit, esp for a special occasion. Next time, will likely go for happy hour.
The views absolutely cannot be beat in Bellevue. The American Wagyu steaks were very good as well as the mushroom and crab mac sides. Overall a great meal but pricey.
A vegetarian can squeak by since the limited vegetarian options are good. 1-2 additions would be nicer
Phenomenal food! We had the Caesar salad, NY strip, lamb, mushrooms, and cauliflower and it was all incredible. The vegan dessert was excellent as was the dessert with the banana cake and matcha ice cream. YUM. So glad we tried this place!
Tremendous experience. We don’t do this very often, it was my 51st Birthday. If there is only a handful of restaurants in the Seattle area that you are considering, Ascend should be at the very top of that list. #FiveStars
Friend in town
I loved the view. Amazing.
The Suburban (their spin on an old fashioned) was a 10/10, incredible.
The rest was a meh. I ordered the New York, bone in. Nice cut of meat, they put some sort of sweet-ish sauce on it, think smokey teriyaki sauce, paired with a lemon caesar with candied pecans. The pecans were small and hard, little flavor.
I can't say I understand the point of muddling the flavor of a prime cut with that sauce. My steak came to me nearly blue rare though I ordered medium rare plus, and it was a smidge over room temperature.
My colleague had a burger that was unremarkable. My other colleague had a wagyu lettuce wrap that looked like it was hard to eat and also got a tepid "it'd good" from him.
With John Howie and El Gaucho nearby, I doubt I'll see the amazing view from Ascend again.
I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the view and your drink. I'm sorry to learn about your experiences with the food. We welcome the opportunity to address matters in the moment whenever possible. Were you able to bring matters to the attention of a service team person? Very Best, Elaina H., Owner
Overall i really enjoyed my experience at Ascend. The food is really delicious, (definitely a bit on the smaller portion side), but they do provide a small plate of complimentary biscuit and bread. I read how great their service was but unfortunately our server wasn't that great. His service was very mediocre (the way he greeted us, how he took away plates without asking first, - definitely not the high end service, but could work for a average restaurant). But when I asked him about the complimentary bread (which all other table has), his attitude was like - "if you want, i will get you" Again, my expectation for this level of this restaurant is definitely on the high side, especially after reading all the raves about their top notch service. (The friend who was with me came just a day earlier and she said her server was way better!)
Amazing views are reflected in price of food. Excellent service
The Easter buffet offering at Ascend was the perfect mix of traditional and unique. Entrees were omelettes to order, belgian waffle bar, leg of lamb, roast beef, salmon and pork belly! Added standards like potato puree, roasted carrots were paired with oysters on the half shell and 4 types of sushi rolls. Not to mention the custom bellini bar - mango, peach, strawberry and prickley pear - all tasty and included in the overall price! For the kiddos they had their own buffet, at their height of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and waffles as well. Beautiful view and great way to spend the day. A few misses, they were still taking reservations as late as 3:30pm but had run out of lamb, and spoons were hard to come by for coffee and dessert offerings of handmade cinnamon roll ice cream, 4 types of fresh made macaroons and mini pots de creme. But for their first buffet offering - Mother's Day is looking better and better.
Easter Brunch was just OK
This was a wonderful. elaborate Easter Sunday buffet. We each had separate tastes, yet each was more than satisfied with this selections. The service overall was excellent. The experience was a superb value as well.
Impressive service and foods. Usually I come for cocktail or quick bite since dinner portion is small to moderate but the Easter brunch was exceeded our expectation, I brought 6 people with me
View, Food, Service were amazing.
Presentation of bread service and desserts are like works of art.
Will be dreaming about the food for weeks!
Had a great dinner experience at Ascend. Julie our server took excellent care of my group of 7. Service was professional, warm, and capable. Drink menu was extensive. Ordered a wide array of dishes, apps, cuts of beef, seafood, sushi, and dessert. Their A5 Wagyu olive-fed cut was remarkable, and I recommend.
Really appreciated the spectacular view and atmosphere at Ascend. I would certainly go here again!
Great service, beautiful restaurant, but the steaks as not near as good as many other steakhouses in the area and it’s more expensive
