Ascari King Street

One of the best Italian restaurants in the city! We have been dining at Ascari Enoteca (Leslieville) many times but were happy to hear that another branch was opening on King St, closer to where I work. The food is always delicious and the menu changes often based on seasonal ingredients. Their pasta dishes are always amazing. They continually surprise us with their modern take on classic dishes like carbonara and cacio e pepe. We look forward to dining here as often as possible!

Service staff were attentive and professional. Food was competent. Fairly light on the portions for the price attached. We all felt that the menu was missing a page. it was alright but we wouldn’t rush back.

Hated their wine selection. Because they don't serve anything you've heard before, you have no comparables to know what kind of wine you're getting. The food was good, but wouldn't say you are getting value for your money.

We had a very good meal. Service was excellent. The food was very good but pasta portions were a little small. The space is very nice but our table was alongside the alley and lights from cars were a little distracting.

Went for brunch - we all enjoyed our meals and the value for money with the prix fixe menu is great! Great ambience, excellent service, would definitely recommend.

I went for dinner with two girlfriends and we had an outstanding dinner. My friends wanted to try a white wine and the Pearl Morisette from Niagara Region, Chardonnay was recommended. Well, they loved it , so thank you to our excellent server for the recommendation. We adored every bite of food, including the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Burrata Salad. The ambience was upbeat and not ridiculously loud, so we were able to enjoy lively conversations and an exceptional meal. Highly Recommend for date night, friends dinner, or even on your own if you are looking for a lovely meal.

This was our first night in our trip to Toronto and Ascari did not disappoint. The food was awesome and our waitress gave us awesome service and recommendations for the week!

At first arrival, service was terrible. Came in for a birthday dinner and almost left. Host and "helping server" was a nightmare as a guest. The woman who served us dinner was outstanding.
She overall made the whole night worth it. Food was excellent.

We’ve been to Ascari Enoteca Queen East so we really wanted to come try the King street location. It was amazing. My wife had the Carbonara and I had the polenta duck leg dish and it was outstanding. We loved everything and we’ve added this restaurant to our GO TO list! Highly recommended.

The Valentines Day prefix menu was wonderful! Very satisfied.

The restaurant itself is lovely inside, with lots of different seating options. We were seated near a window in the corner and it was very cozy, but not cramped like some downtown restaurants can feel.
Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and had some great recommendations on both food and cocktails.
All the dishes arrived in perfect timing and coursing was taken care of by the server to ensure the meal had a nice flow to it. With every dish you could tell that the Chef and the entire kitchen staff take great pride in their work. Colours, textures, acidity, fat, and seasoning, were all beautifully balanced.
The standout dishes were the Insalata di Burrata (burrata with beet salad), Orata (sea bream crudo), and the Polenta d’Anatra Affumicata (confit duck leg with polenta).

The food was fantastic, the server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some excellent suggestions, overall it was a very nice evening. Looking forward to another meal at Ascari!

Horrible experience.

Ordered a bunch of items and the Bisteca was the main attraction. They had just one piece left apparently, at 8:30pm, which should have been a warning sign of s poorly prepared restaurant. Regardless, we ordered ur medium.

The stake arrived with a lot of pomp and circumstance with sea salt, beef jus, and some other little condiment.

Worse stake ever. It was done now just well, bur the corner pieces were so hard that they were inedible. There was absolutely no taste, and throughout the stake was so overcooked that it was the colour if a leather shoe sole.

Music was also very loud - service slow and inattentive.

Ruined the night. Will never go back. If a chef cannot cook a steak, then they should not waste people’s night and charge them top $ for it. Instead try change of career to a flipping burgers kind of place, at an establishment with timers set for people cooking.

Outstanding. Booked valentines already. Pasta dish was so, so but everything else (service, friend staff, other dishes) was amazing.

Make sure u save room for the lemon tarts.

Most of our food was excellent. However, but the turnip appetizer was absolutely tasteless. I rarely send things back. This, we sent back. It was awful. While the other dishes were significantly better (I'd recommend the osso buco), the prices are pretty high. I've had equivalent quality in countless restaurants with equally nice decor/service/ambiance.

The service was seamless. Servers were perfectly attentive, helpful and appropriate. Food arrived in a timley manner. Great service is difficult to achieve and they've done it well.

But the kitchen fail - even on one dish - was shocking to us and the overall value just not there.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Sugo meal that we experienced. Everything was delicious. It was a great way to have dinner out with the family style meal. My only issue was with the meat dish. It was truly scrumptious but the lamb that we received was mainly large bones. It would have been nice to have more meat than bones for the lamb. Otherwise the portions were perfect.

First time at Ascari. Had a great seat. Emma our server was very patient with us since we took out time with drinks, and ordering our food. Great ambiance where we sat, food was great. Would go back again.

From time we sat down to time the bill came was 50 mins. The food was forsure pre-made as it came out within 10 mins of ordering it.

Would not go back as felt rushed and pushy from wait staff
