I made the reservation last Saturday with a group of 9. We had a friend in from out of town and we were trying to show her Detroit at it’s best. After a $70 cab ride from the suburbs into the city, we got out of the car only to notice the restaurant was closed—lights off, no one inside, and no sign on the door. I felt awful. It was 7:15 and everything else was crazy busy, we spent a decent part of the rest of the night trying to find a place we could all get in to eat :(
Absolutely terrible. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 5 years and this is the exact opposite of how a restaurant should be run. We were rudely greeted by the hostess. She rolled her eyes in front of us and had the nastiest rude look on her face. It seemed like we were such a huge inconvenience just being there. When we got sat, she started taking away the extra placements and silverware and said out loud “i don’t even know what I’m doing” she didn’t say anything about our server. We sat there looking around for about 10 minutes with no acknowledgement from any employees. We noticed several other tables that got sat before us that hadn’t even been greeted yet either. In addition, there was a man in jeans and a T-shirt that seemed like one of the owners walking around with his phone headset on not smiling at anyone or talking to any customers. I should’ve listned to the reviews before coming here. What a waste of space where another successful restaurant could be.
Horrible experience. We were on time for our 6pm reservation. No one to seat us. No one EVER came to our table. Couldn't even get our water glasses filled! Even after approaching no less than 5 different people, including the manager!
We saw 4 tables (3 four top and 1 two top) get up and leave before we finally did the same 35 minutes later. Another table got up to leave, but sat back down only because they were related to the manager and he promised to go in the kitchen and serve them what ever was ready to go. Never mind the poor suckers who were there waiting on that order.
I would drop them from Open Table if I were you...
Service was terrible. Our waiter was working hard but the restaurant was a total mess. Waited forever for food and drinks. We won’t be going back.
Not enough servers, so service was very slow; however food was excellent
Totally disappointing experience. Tried to order 2 different dishes and they weren’t available. They also couldn’t do Pizza as oven wasn’t warm. Drinks were good.
Went for a birthday celebration. The hostess was great however the overall service was pretty slow. And did not know their menu. There where only a few tables in the restaurant at the time so there was not reason it took 30 minutes to get out drinks. Or 15 minutes to even take our drink orders. The food was not amazing and was very small portions for the price.
The hostess did celebrate a birthday very well with a free drink and nice dessert so that was a plus.
I ordered a plate of lamb chops for me and my wife and both of them came out cold lukewarm. I told all my friends that are foodies this place is a waste of time!
Management very personable. Wait staff attentive. Took too long to get the drinks and there is room for improvement with the quality and potency of the cocktails. Half of our party enjoyed their meals and the other half not so much. With all the buzz on new Detroit restaurants, I was wondering why this one was not as full/crowded as most. I could see myself returning...
Poor service, wine was good, food wasn’t great. They forgot to being out one of our dishes and then tried to charge is for it. I think they are still getting the kinks out
Pooooooor service..,..mediocre food
The food was good, the drinks were good, but the service was horrible. Could not tell us about anything on the menu.
Wasn't really impressed. Food overall was good but not great. Service was good but again not great. The side we wanted to sit on was closed. They weren't very busy on a Saturday night which is a good sign something isn't working. It is a beautiful restuarant that has a ton of potential.
They were more than hospitable to us and I enjoyed every moment of the time we were there. We met the chef after dinner and they brought my brother out a slice of almond cake. I loved the experience and I will definitely be going back!
Food was pretty good. Nice wine selection. Our server Cartier was awesome!
Nice space. Our server was good. Wine and cocktails were really good. Some of the food was hit or miss. Wings were good. Shrimp cocktail was ok. Pizzas looked good but needed some spicy flakes to give flavor. Short ribs were good. Steak salad was good but was deconstructed - not a bad thing just not clear on the menu that it was being served that way. Turtle cheesecake was fantastic!
Horrible service !!!!!
Our table of 7 really wanted to like this place. We had a 715pm reservation and were seated promptly. Drinks ordered and served. When it came to the food, we ordered and then waited over an hr before the manager came over to see how we were doing and offered us a discount bc he had heard there was a problem with our food, to which the head of our table politely replied that we wouldn’t know bc we hadn’t yet eaten. We ate after 1.5 hours, then got the check as soon as possible. They offered 25% off the bill. Two other tables left after waiting for half an hour. Really disappointing experience but it seems to be bc they are understaffed in the kitchen. Definitely won’t be back but best of luck to the manager.
Things started out good with charcuterie and Caesar salads but then we ordered dinner which was over cooked with items missing on some plates and since you can see the kitchen from the dining room it seemed as though the chef in charge did not enjoy his profession. It was a Friday night and when I ordered my meal I was told the chef still needed to cut the meat for service so I decided to wait thinking I would get this amazing cut of meat. I watched as the waiter told the chef I would wait and the chef just shook his head. I got the smallest pork chop I ever saw for 26$ . It was over cooked and dry. My cousin got salmon which also looked like jerky and half of the items described on the menu were not on the plate. I will say this is a beautiful restaurant and my server was friendly and prompt. You could tell he cared about his service. Unfortunately we will not be back.
I made reservations for lunch and when 8 of us got there it was closed? So I tried again 1 month later with a girlfriend for dinner. They said they had a happy hour 4- 6:00 pm. I made reservations for 2 . We got there at 4:55 pm and the door was locked. Not their fault evidentially DTE was working outside & turned off their electricity ( not their fault) . We finally got inside & went to the bar so they could get ready for the dinner / happy hour crew ( which never materialized in the 1.5 hours we were there). Our waiter was fabulous but the food was just OK. the Caesar salad was so bland ( no garlic or anchovies even though it was listed in the description) The best part was the grilled asparagus in it. I had the beef tips & my friend had the chicken. Both were not seasoned - even with salt. We complained to our waiter & the manager gave us a 10% discount on the meal. I hope they get their act together soon otherwise they may not be around this time next year. I am always very supportive of new restaurants - please make it better. I'd like to see you servive.
The waitress was excellent, the food was good, but presentation and portion sizes were quite small. Our friend had the Cesare salad with added shrimps as his main meal...the salad size was that of a small bowl on a medium plate. As for mine, I ordered the beef with arugula, the beef was separate from the very small plate of arugula, the beef was good but again the presentation and portion size of the arugula was disappointing.
Great all around
Well organized for new place
Found when looking for Detroit restaurant. Good parking! Lovely and inviting environment. Very clean. Great food and good wait staff. Will definitely be back. Owner very kind and considerate that our experience was excellent! Will definitely return and bring more family to enjoy!
Food was delicious and the service outstanding! This place is a gem waiting to be discovered!!
Lack of parking was the only issue - restaurant sits in between 2 large event parking lots and both were empty but “closed” - had to park around the corner...
Food was delicious, we had the cesar salad, very good, salmon, delicious and short ribs were very good.
Fun atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, Peach Basil Mule a must-try!
It was amazing and our waiter Andrew was phenomenal.
When we arrived at our reservation time we were immediately seated. Our server Edward was awesome and provided great insight to the menu. We started off with a couple cocktails which were great. We shared the Mac & Cheese which was delicious. For our entrees we got the braised short ribs and salmon both of which were very tasted and prepared perfect. After dinner the Owner and General Manager gave us a personalized tour of the fine dining space. Great place and highly recommended!!!
This restaurant is a new addition to Detroit. I love trying new places and always jump at the opportunity. I have to say I'm incredibly disappointed. This was not good at all. They have a lot of work to do if they want to stay in business. For starters, it's advertised as "Plates to share" but the menu is not organized this way. The menu is awkwardly arranged. This restaurant doesn't feel like it has an identity. I had the "east side west side" pizza and it was really bad. Supposed to have peppers and grilled onions, but I only saw some onions that didn't look grilled but so much as warmed with olive oil and I saw no peppers. There was WAY WAY too much cheese. Very hard to eat. It was also just barely melted. There should be less cheese and it needed to be broiled or something so the cheese would be more crisp. Would be better with a couple disks of fresh mozzarella. The Italian sausage that was on my pizza looked to be homemade and was pretty good. I've made better pizza at home. My boyfriend had the lamb chops and our waiter said indicated they were a good size, but they were about the size of a silver dollar. The vegetables with the dish were lukewarm at best.
I hope they make some improvements otherwise they aren't going to make it.
This new restaurant has many kinks to work out. I'm sure they will in time. After our initial cocktail order was taken & the place started to fill up, we didn't see our server much. The small plates were pricy & we did not share.
Went for date night on a Saturday. The service was great. The food was pretty good. The ambiance was not what I had in mind for a date. To be honest it had the look and feel of a cafeteria. One large room with tables spaced evenly apart, high ceiling and very bight lights. Definitely not cozy. The menu was decent with an interesting variety of plates to share. Portions are what you'd expect for "small plates." We did get one item (braised short ribs) that was room temperature at best. Our server insisted on bringing us another, which was nice. No real complaints, but it didn't knock my socks off.
Not bad at all. Service was excellent. Received an amazing tour, met the chef, and received excellent recommendations of wine paring as well as selecting a dish to enjoy.
