Artusi is a restaurant which fuses Italian cuisine with dishes inspired by the Pacific Northwest. Head Chef Stuart Lane has carefully created a menu that is wholly unique, creating a blend of two seemingly disparate cooking styles and blending them into something cohesive and delicious. Artusi focuses being an ideal place to stop and enjoy a snack and cocktail. There are no entrees, only appetizers and desserts to complement whatever guests are sipping.
Antipasti options are diverse and flavorful, including options such as spice marinated olives, porcini risotto cake topped with huckleberry marinara, rabbit mortadella with plum condimento, braised duck with rutabega puree and many more. As for on the dessert side Artusi serves an Italian sorbetto or gelato whose flavor changes nightly right alongside an American classic chocolate cake in a cherry sauce. The drink menu features cocktails featuring every spirit imaginable next to fine wines and craft beer.
Despite flavorful food, well-made drinks, and a self-consciously cool ambiance, the overall dining experience here was like waiting for a bus. The kitchen only had two chefs, and it showed in the irregular arrivals of our courses. Our meal took 2.5 hours, and it wasn't because we were lingering over the courses. None of our courses ever arrived at the same time. The time between each course was at least 30-40 minutes. Overall, consider stopping in here only if for a drink at the bar. Otherwise, you'll be here all night.
Good was mostly excellent. Calamari appetizer great. Pastas superb. Wine list terrific. Salmon in umido uninspired. Service pleasant but very sliow.
Saturday night was our first visit to Artusi and we were very impressed with the food quality, service and ambience. The atmosphere was great with neighborhood charm. We will definitely be back for another dinner this year. Five stars.
Had a great evening here. The staff were very attenditve, without being intrusive, had good suggestions about menu. Great summer drinks were offered. Recommend the Chef's tasting menu for a wonderful, leisurely meal.
Stopped in for an early Sunday dinner and had a great meal. Ordered several items off the HH menu which gave us a nice tour of what they offer. Service was outstanding.
The tagliatelle was absolutely amazing. So rich and tasty. I'm usually opposed to eating rabbit, but this dish made it so worth it. Their gnocchi was just the right amount of chewy and soft, with lots of butter and cheese. The nebbiolo was perfectly balanced between earthy and fruity, glad I chose that wine. Overall, great birthday dinner :-).
It's been a while since I've been to Artusi. We had an amazing experience, even better than the prior visits.
We love to find places that have a commitment to good service and good food. We have a nut allergy, a shellfish allergy and a vegetarian diet and they graciously helped us explore our options and the food was delicious! The drinks were also well executed and refreshing. Loved the fresh, bright offerings.
The food was really good.
Have to say we were both taken a bit by surprise when there was only the set menu for dinner on St Valentines day. I had checked the website and only the regular menu, no mention of a special set menu.
Given that we were already seated, there was no other choice, and the possibility of finding a table elsewhere were slim to non existent we chose the five course set menu + the wines recommendations.
By the time we had devoured four courses we were both thinking we would skip desert, just have coffee and leave very satisfied. Desert was served and it was so amazingly good it was gone in a flash.
Picked this as our evening out on NYE and it was a perfect choice! From the 5 course set menu (special that night) to the wine pairings and other cocktails, my date and I had a lot of fun enjoying the whole experience. Very well done all around, great staff, I definitely want to go back again!
