We enjoyed our lunch very much indeed. The food was OK, but not too much more than that, though the portions were very generous and nicely served. The main thing that impressed us this time was the service -- so considerate and friendly and accommodating. Really remarkable. And the wine was good, too.

The buffet was plentiful but the choices were not that appealing. You could also have some dishes made. I had eggs Benedict. I was not impress. I had been to another restaurant the week before and had eggs Benedict there which was delicious. I also ordered a Bloody Mary which was watery and had no real flavor or zip, again the prior restaurants was perfect.

The dining area is large, and refreshingly uncrowded. You can actully hear everyone at your table talk , without having to strain or shout. The decor fits the colonial nature of downtown Lexington. The food was very good. The waiter was very professional, but was extemely busy, and as a result, attentivenss that I am sure he was capabable of , suffered a bit. Also, the food came out lukewarm due to the same issue I'm sure, but it was qucikly reheated.

From the greeting to the server and of course the meal, Artistry, in our opinion is the very best to be found east of New York.

My husband and I have eaten here many times, therefore, we brought our dear friends for their engagement celebration dinner. Every single thing was perfect! We loved our drinks, the appetizers, and the entrees. Thank you!

This restaurant has started a fixed price brunch for $35 per person. I think that is steep especially as it is a buffet, although they will cook eggs to order. This sort of situation encourages me to overeat, so I try to avoid it. I enjoyed having brunch with my daughters nevertheless.

Best brunch my friend and I have had in years. Delicious!
The orange pancakes were our favorite. Excellent selection of top quality plus omelets and eggs Benedict to order. Outstanding Bloody Mary.

My husband and I were celebrating a special occasion. We had chosen Artistry on the Green after reading about it and driving by. The meal was excellent as was the service. We both had the lamb. My husband had the chowder and I had the carpaccio. Both the entree and appetizers were perfectly presented and delicious. We were seated at a corner table by a window which was romantic. The only negative observational we might offer is at the lack of ambiance. We were disappointed that the fireplace was not lit and that there were no flowers on the table for a chilly Saturday night. It seemed a bit stark for such a lovely old house.

I used to LOVE coming to this place for breakfast whenever I was in town, but that will no longer be the case unfortunately. Instead of their wonderful breakfast menu, they now have a sad buffet with very limited options. I even tried their omelette as the buffet only had 1-2 things out and it was dry, flavorless and took 20 minutes to bring out. I will not be going back.

I’ve had many lovely meals here in the past. This past visit was so disappointing. The lunch menu was less exciting than in the past. I chose a burger cooked medium with no bun or cheese and a side of mayo for my fries. First I got a burger with cheese. Sent it back and got one without cheese. Cooked rare. Sent it back again and got another one this time cooked well done (not medium like I ordered). And not only did they forget the mayo but also forgot the carmelized onions which was part of the dish as written, not a special order. They did bring me a second serving of fries without my asking, though I think it may have been unintentional. No alteration to the bill and I was late getting back to the office because of how long all the back and forth took.

Atmosphere is comfortable, pleasing to the eyes and conducive to conversation. Food is great, and service is knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. I've only eaten in the library, which is spacious and feels very personal, but the main dining area looks elegant too. Easy access and parking are a plus. The food is delicious and the wine and beer list looks ample. I had lunch there this time, but have had fantastic dinners there in the past. Love this place.

Accompanying a friend on crutches, we found someone , smiling, awaiting us holding the door open; were given the table I requested, were served efficiently and cheerfully; we wolfed down the luscious quiche of the day and smoked salmon BLT.
Water glasses filled promptly when needed...
Love Artistry

Six of us met for dinner. We had all been professional tasters and wanted to meet the chef to discuss the meal. He was away but the sous chef came to our table at the end of dinner and discussed what we all had. Most interesting was the duck with Chinese spices and the broth with the roasted cod. Largest and best meal according to one was the double lamb chop. One other had the scallops and lucked in because it was the end of the scallops and she had an extra. This was our second time and we will certainly return next year.

Disappointed. Selection was very limited. Waitress was not very knowledgeable when I asked to substitute due to dietary restrictions. Restaurant lighting was not very cozy. I would like to try their brunch but don't think I will be back for dinner.

I think the waiters' work clothes are a bit wear and tear, not quite up to the standard of how much they are charging for the food.

Wonderful food in a non-bistro-style space ... tables are amply sized and well spaced ... food is locally sourced and of high quality ... the wait staff is knowledgeable, highly professional, and friendly without being cloying ... reminiscent of the old Maisson Robert @ Boston City Hall, but not as formal ...

Lovely restaurant. A little gem that needs a bit of polishing. Very pretty room, luxurious linens, nice menu selections, delicious bread and butter, very pleasant service. However, we were served drinks before dinner in the living room of the Inn (we were in-house guests) with no cocktail napkins....had to ask server for them. While this seems like it's not a big deal, at this price point and a Relais and Chateaux property, one would expect a certain caliber of service. There were no candles in the dining room at dinner...not a single votive or taper or candelabra anywhere and no lanterns on the porch. This small detail would add some ambiance and make it feel more charming and special and inviting. The food was good but not great and overall felt expensive for a mediocre salad and decent roast chicken breast. We are from NYC and very used to $$$$ dinners but this seemed out of whack. Wine list is eh. Hostess was not up front both times we entered the restaurant so we had to wait to be greeted and sort of poke around to see if we were waiting in the correct place. The omelette at breakfast had way too many onions that were neither raw, nor caramelized......they were slightly cooked, almost steamed - yuk, and not enough gruyere - I sent it back. Overall, it was pricey for the money and would not consider it a destination restaurant. We enjoyed our meals because we were staying there, but next time would go out in town. Having said that, the Inn is wonderful and the service extremely accommodating, and a great place to stay if in the area. The hotel is a 9/10 and the restaurant a 7/10.

Delicious and very accommodating for kids! Although there is no changing table in the bathroom, there are Hugh chairs and etch-a-sketches for kids to play with. Food was excellent although I wish for brunch there was one more lunch food option as it is all mainly breakfast food.

We love Artistry on the Green and have eaten there many times including Thanksgiving and Easter. The food is amazing and the presentation is always so beautiful. The service is acceptional and the staff is always so attentive.
The atmosphere is quiet and condusive to great conversation. My only criticism is that at a recent birthday dinner I had to ask our server to refill my water glass. Sounds minor but at this price point the staff should not have to be asked to refill water glasses. Nevertheless, Artistry remains one of our favorites.

RESTAURANT MA-REVIEW: "ARTISTRY-ON-THE-GREEN" (in the Inn at Hastings Park in Lexington)
A perfectly beautiful restaurant in a perfectly beautiful inn. That's an accurate description of this wonderful restaurant in the newly-designated Relais et Chateaux property in historic Lexington, Mass, just a half hour from Boston. If you're not familiar with the Relais et Chateaux designation, it's a world renowned travel award given to the finest restaurants and hotels in the world. It's highly coveted and as prestigious as it gets in the travel industry. Artistry on the Green in the Inn at Hastings Park joins only four other places in the entire state of Massachusetts that have won this award. The Inn consists of a Main House, and two other smaller buildings around a private parking lot. All three are beautifully designed and decorated in the traditional New England style...gray and white with a wraparound porch on the Main House. The restaurant in the Main House, Artistry on the Green, carries out the New England Style of decor in grays and whites with wooden chairs, and a working fireplace. It's a perfectly appointed room in every way. The menu consists of traditional New England dishes. Service, presentation, and the food itself are all excellent. I'm really not doing this restaurant justice...it's much better than it sounds. If you're in the area, drive out and check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful little place attached to an Inn. Not very crowded, limited light menu, but exactly what we were looking for. Food was yummy. Only drawback, waiter only offered coffee refills to one person (who had to ask) continuously through the meal, no one else. That was weird.

Disappointed. Made a reservation for Saturday lunch. Arrived only to be told dining room was closed for special event. Seated in very nice auxiliary room with one other larger group - who then proceeded to play the piano - poorly but loudly. Menus arrived at which point we found out only breakfast was being served. Will not be back.

The timing of the meal was a bit off with respect to how long it took for each course. The waitstaff had too many tables and small things like refreshing the table water should have been done without prompting.

We were there for a weekday lunch. The meal
My friend chose (quiche with salad) was served cold, as was the pre-meal bread we got. I had the Lobster Cobb Salad which was not a good value as the amount of lobster on the salad was tiny. The orher ingredients in the salad were quite fresh. Our waiter was unfriendly. In fact, he didn't smile once during our visit. I'm not in any hurry to go back to Artistry.
