I have eaten here many times before the musicals. It’s the first time my sister had been there. First of all the prices are ridiculous for what you get. We had the chicken and mashed potatoes andthe mashed potatoes were cold. It seems like it used to come with a sprig or two of broccoli or asparagus. Just very disappointed.I have beaten that some very expensive restaurants and it was worth the money but I have to say this was not worth the money.
Limited choices. Same menu with no seasonal changes. Over-priced. Too many fried, unhealthy appetizers.
The staff is always so accommodating but our meal was disappointing.
Waitress allowed us to eat dessert at intermission. Great idea!
Lucy is an outstanding server and made our visit to Artista very enjoyable!
The food was amazing and the service incredible. Wonderful time.
We went to Artista for our first visit and to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed. The food was beyond what I expected.... both in presentation and taste. Our server Kevin was professional, knowledgeable, and witty and definitely added to the experience. Thank you for a fabulous date night!
Great food and exceptional service. Not my first visit and each time I have received quality service and food that is the perfect temperature and beautifully presented.
We enjoyed our pre-theater lunch. The restaurant wasn’t too noisy, which was a bonus. Our server did a great job and was fun, informed and appropriately attentive. Our appetizers were uniformly delicious. Two of our party had salmon as their entrée and both agreed it was cooked to perfection. I ordered the plantain-crusted chicken. It was just OK, but it had been somewhat over-cooked, so it was rather dry.
The highlight was the dessert - Artista does the best Tres Leches ever.
We had mojitos to drink, which I would highly recommend.
We had a fabulous experience at Artista. The food and wine were amazing and the restaurant is so comfortable. Outstanding wait staff that takes care of your every need without overdoing it.
Food was NOT hot. Very tasty but not hot. I did not send the feedback. Our server was fantastic and will definitely ask for him again!
The main meal and the service were great, along with the atmosphere and convenience for the theatre. The desserts had a little to be desired.
Service was outstanding. Location convenient. Food was bland and mediocre. Husband's steak was very thin for a filet. Overpriced French fries. Drinks out of sight for market price. Operetta plate was tasteless.
The food and the service is always great. They also have the very best "Tres Leches" in all of Houston!
I am always impressed with the quality of food and ambience at Artista. It is great for pre or post theatre dining. It always very busy but the waiters and bussers are efficient and friendly without being pretentious or overbearing. The one disappointing thing is the fact that they “lost” my reservation on two separate occassions when I called and placed them with the hostess. Those two times I did not go through open table, but the hostess who took the verbal reservation confirmed on the phone that are reservations were confirmed and in the reservation system. They seated us despite this, but it was clearly an error on their part which made the first part of our experience unnecessarily awkward and disappointing. My hopes are that they recognize this problem that should never had happened in the first place. Despite this, my family and I will continue to dine at Artista, but will probably have to follow up that they have the reservation - It is unfortunate a follow up on our part is necessary.
We dined at Artista before seeing Riverdance at the Hobby Center. It was my little granddaughter's birthday, and we were very pleased with the special attention she received! The food was excellent as always, and the experience was very enjoyable. I highly recommend the Artista and look forward to dining there again the next time we visit.
Everything was great. Our server(I forgot her name ) was fantastic. The food was some of the best my wife and I have had.. Thank you for making our night special.
Great view, great service. Perfect place to eat before seeing anything at the Hobby Center!
The new items on the menu were great. My daughter loved the salmon.
Great food and service. Lucy was our server and she was fabulous. She made our pre Theater dining experience even better! e
Very loud and crowded. Tables were very close together. Food was cold and served within ten minutes of ordering. Spent over $100 on two entrees and two drinks. Not worth the price.
We had a great time. The waitress was friendly. The food was great and the view was gorgeous. We were seeing a show in the same building so we didn't have to worry about getting to the show on time. It was perfect.
Artista has always been so consistent and a go-to for my family. This weekend was a huge disappointment. The churrasco steak came out within 5 minutes of being ordered and was tough and flavorless. Both my daughter and I left over half of it on the plate - a waste of $85. I think I will be looking for a new place for pre-show dining. Too bad because this is so convenient and has always been a favorite.
We all enjoyed our food.
I was disappointed with Artista today. We were ignored by our waiter till we paged a manager over and asked for one. The service was slow. The main entree was still delicious, but the tres leche cake was super dry. It had to have been left over from the day before. Even the customers beside us complained about the service. And the restaurant was not even half full. I usually enjoy dining at Artista and will try them again based on previous visits, but based on today, they need to get their act together.
This location is fantastic for anything in the Theater District.
The staff was friendly and even helped out with a cell phone charger while we dined.
This visit to Artista was outstanding. They have improved on almost all levels in my view.
Entrees and appetizers interesting and well executed. It was a great experience and glad to know it is once again an option to pre-theatre dining.
Great service / great food. The get you out in plenty of time for the theater.
The food is consistently good with nice size portions. The staff is always friendly and efficient.
Thanks for helping us to impress our international staff.
Good food at a reasonable price however the service was exceptional. Very convenient for going to the theater.
Since this restaurant is in the Hobby Center it is the only game in town at the Hobby Center.
If is not my favorite restaurant and I will look forward to seeing who the new chef is.
It has been 1 year since dining here. Food was excellent. It was not this time. My salmon was just average. Last year was excellent. My husband had steak. Disappointed in quality. Your quality of food has gone down. The dessert was the best part of meal.
As always, Artista was awesome! We always go there before the theater. The food is always delicious and service is excellent from our server, Lucy.
We had lunch before a Sunday matinee at the theatre. As always, the food was outstanding and the service wonderful. They know most patrons are going to see a show, and so they manage the time well for you. I was surprised to find out Artista was no longer part of the Cordua group, but that's not the restaurant's fault.
Another great dining experience before a night at the theatre. Having the restaurant inside the theatre hall is ideal. The service was remarkable and it was great to be remembered by the staff. The food is fulfilling and drinks are made very well. The plantains are tasty with the their 3 sauces. I’ve enjoyed the empanadas, lobster bisque, side salad, & operata alongwith 2 strongest manhattan from the bartender.
Up to usual high standards. Probably been to Artista 30 times+ over the years. Still great and look forward to next visit.
Our waiter Kevin was beyond
amazing & ever so joyful .
Food good. Small portions. Overpriced. Not “old Artista”
Artista is one of the better places to eat prior to the live musical theater experience at Hobby Center. While undergoing a change of ownership, they have reduced the wine menu substantially. I had the Churrasco steak and my wife had the seafood Chef's special. The food is very good as it has been. The waiter was very attentive to our needs. The staff always does an outstanding job. I would recommend Artista to anyone attending the theater for the convenience and culinary experience.
