Me and my wife we when for the pre show dinner before Hamilton. service was outstanding, and food was delicious. No your typical restaurant. But great place to be the energy was amazing..!!
Benny our server was great, food flavorful and delicious.
I love the ambiance. I have been going to Artista for about 14 years now. I used to be a true regular, but the quality and quantity of food has lessened while the price has significantly increased. Also, I truly miss the piano player they used to have who contributed greatly to the ambiance. For my recent visit, half of the typically melt-in-your-mouth Churrasco that I ordered at medium was overcooked and chewey, and the spot of Bernaise they provided to go with it was laughable. However, if you don't reminisce on the old days of a few ounces of Bernaise and a delicious side of plaintains that went with the Churrasco, this is always a nice splurge spot for dinner before the show.
I had a great experience at the restaurant. The food was excellent. The service went above and beyond to fulfill all requests. There was a very minimal noise to to complete my business meeting. Will recommend to others. Thank you.
Great food and great service. Overall excellent and great for pre shows dinner.
The wait staff were excellent and the food was delicious!
Service was terrible. After waiting at our table for more than 10 minutes, we approached the bar to try and get service. We brought our own drinks from the bar and then there was discussion of whose table it was. The assigned waiter came over and took our menus - without asking for our order. Another 10 minutes went by and we had to wave him down and ask to order. Another waiter brought us our food. Disappointed by the service. Food was good.
Tres Leches cake is one of the best I have ever had.
My fish was so so but the steaks are wonderful
The food was very disappointing. Poorest quality fish with heavy cream sauces poured over everything. I ordered the Operata, wife the scallops, friends had scallops and fish. Heavy and bland food, questionable/doubtful the fish served was actually what was chosen, resembled and tasted like tilapia. Service was forgetful and absent minded, though very friendly. No bathrooms a deterrent. Have been here 3 times for shows and dinner, this by far the worst. Don't recall bad food in past years. Cannot recall a less satisfying dinner anywhere in downtown Houston. Expect MUCH more than a convenient location for the prices charged.
Great choices on the menu and great views of downtown, quiet restaurant and good for groups too.
We were there for pre ballet dinner. Although we requested a window side table ahead of time by calling, we were seated upstairs. Was bummed a little. Our waiter was great but the restaurant was so busy that we felt rushed as we kept being approached by wait staff to remove our dishes! However, it is a great place with tasty food.
Food was served late and cold. For the price you can find much better service and food quality elsewhere easily.
These comments are direct observations and conclusions. Our food was served cold to luke warm, at best. Our opinion is that it tasted like it was prepared early in the morning, and placed under poorly working heat lamps. This applies to the soup and entrees served to both diners. It appeared our waiter was fully aware of the poor quality as he never asked nor even approached to check on us until it was clear we were finished. As our reservations were at 5:30 pm, with very few tables occupied; any possible excuse for our poor experience falls flat. Extraordinarily high price dinner ($195.00) with no value. We will never patronize this establishment again.
I was quite disappointed in the food. I had a combination plate that had a TRIO DINNER for $48.95 that included 4oz Churrasco steak, 4oz pan seared red snapper with ajillo sauce, 4 oz grilled lobster tail, & served with grilled asparagus. The steak was definitely not the standard of the Corduas. It was flavorless and chewy. The snapper was bland as well. The only things that tasted good were the lobster tail and the asparagus. I was in a hurry to get to the ballet and didn't have time to complain especially since the service was slow as well. I doubt I will find there again.
Convenient to the theatre, too bad it’s going away.
Fish frozen and waitress not trained for level of restaurant.
Great lunch. Excellent service. Lots of good lunch options.
We enjoy Artista for dinner or brunch before performances at the Hobby Center!!
Went to the restaurant with a few coworkers. The food was SO good. Not many people there so it was nice and quiet. The white chairs...ouch, those things are dirty! Overall, a great experience.
Will definitely go back!
I love eating at Artista before a play. However, this time the food wasn't as consistent as in the past.
My favorite place in houston , especially when we go to the theatre.
Artista is a restaurant we dine at because it is in the Hobby Center and works for pre show performances. It is rather overpriced and food is average in general. This latest time 2 of our dishes were practically raw and needed to be sent back to the kitchen for proper cooking. One dish, scallops, still came back undercooked.
We always have lunch here before matinee. The special theatre menu is exactly right for us.
We could not be happier with the delicious food and the excellent service. This restaurant is such a wonderful addition to our Hobby Center.
The service was top notch, the ambiance was wonderful and the restaurant was very elegant. I was expecting the quality of Churrasco's and was sadly disappointed. The food was mediocare and definitely not worth the cost. I would not go back.
Churasco steak was outstanding. No better location to attend an event at the Hobby Center.
Horrific food! Sent back two items. Missing the Cordua care of the client experience, good food and a wonderful menu.
I have eaten here many times before the musicals. It’s the first time my sister had been there. First of all the prices are ridiculous for what you get. We had the chicken and mashed potatoes andthe mashed potatoes were cold. It seems like it used to come with a sprig or two of broccoli or asparagus. Just very disappointed.I have beaten that some very expensive restaurants and it was worth the money but I have to say this was not worth the money.
Limited choices. Same menu with no seasonal changes. Over-priced. Too many fried, unhealthy appetizers.
The staff is always so accommodating but our meal was disappointing.
Waitress allowed us to eat dessert at intermission. Great idea!
Lucy is an outstanding server and made our visit to Artista very enjoyable!
The food was amazing and the service incredible. Wonderful time.
We went to Artista for our first visit and to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed. The food was beyond what I expected.... both in presentation and taste. Our server Kevin was professional, knowledgeable, and witty and definitely added to the experience. Thank you for a fabulous date night!
Great food and exceptional service. Not my first visit and each time I have received quality service and food that is the perfect temperature and beautifully presented.
We enjoyed our pre-theater lunch. The restaurant wasn’t too noisy, which was a bonus. Our server did a great job and was fun, informed and appropriately attentive. Our appetizers were uniformly delicious. Two of our party had salmon as their entrée and both agreed it was cooked to perfection. I ordered the plantain-crusted chicken. It was just OK, but it had been somewhat over-cooked, so it was rather dry.
The highlight was the dessert - Artista does the best Tres Leches ever.
We had mojitos to drink, which I would highly recommend.
We had a fabulous experience at Artista. The food and wine were amazing and the restaurant is so comfortable. Outstanding wait staff that takes care of your every need without overdoing it.
Food was NOT hot. Very tasty but not hot. I did not send the feedback. Our server was fantastic and will definitely ask for him again!
The main meal and the service were great, along with the atmosphere and convenience for the theatre. The desserts had a little to be desired.
