Wonderful meal, merci beaucoup, Jacques! Bar staff was also our server, a little too informal. Food was amazing and wine list was very good. Knowledgeable sommelier. Lovely setting and not trying to be too showy.
The pastry chef is phenomenal. I would go many times over just to eat desert. I can highly recommend the Cappuchino Creme Brulee.
Overall very disappointing. Food had zero heart, service was TERRIBLE. Sadly this place has gone the way of line cooks tossing food on a plate that is made it large batches—or so it tasted like. One of our salads was drenched in dressing the other had brown lettuce and almost no dressing. Fish was underwhelming and the short rib was marginal at best; it was served with some sort of overcooked greens (kale or collard?) and undercooked ravioli (trust me I know what al dente should feel like) that tasted like a lemon and plastic goat cheese had a baby.
On the plus side the host/ manager who greeted us was very friendly, and the lobster bisque was decent.
great martinis, fantastic bread, scrumptious main courses. Very romantic with lovely bar. Perfect for before or after a show.
Food was excellent and the service was attentive and professional. The lobster bisque is not to be missed - very tasty! It was interesting to sit at the chef's table and watch the artistry of the kitchen in action.
Definitely the top 3 French restaurants in Houston in my opinion. Highly recommend! Try the 6 course meal, YUM!
Artisans is my husband's favourite restaurant. The food is always amazing. It never disappoints. We love it.
First time visit to this restaurant - - for an anniversary. On a Monday night.....things were pretty slow all the way around; perfect for an anniversary dinner. Service was excellent, the food was exceptional. Enjoyed one of the tasting menus and found each serving to be both creative and delicious. IMHO - - a "gem" of a place - - with a specialty in French cuisine.
Lovely resturant, service and food. Nice music in the background but not so loud you can’t have a conversation.
Houston’s best French restaurant!
Went for my wife’s birthday. This place is incredible... food, service, ambience among the best in the city. It’s pricy, but worth every penny. Don’t leave Houston without trying this place.
very friendly attendants, courteous manager, food of high quality.
This restaurant was a 10+. Among our group of 7 we ordered lamb, veal chop and steak/lobster dinners- all excellent. Bread was piping hot, cocktails and wine were served promptly and a great choice of desserts. Give Artesians a try you won’t be disappointed
The food was very well prepared and very delicious. It is definitely worth it for special occasions.
Food was amazing, service excellent- as always. This place never disappoints!
Fantastic dinner for my girlfriend's going away dinner. I had the veal chop which was tender and flavourful.
AWESOME wait staff. Very professional and knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients etc. Food, very well prepared and presented as it should be, Artful and beautiful.
Love this place! Have been there several times. Food is amazing! Love the layout of the restaurant as well. Has a chef's counter you can sit at and watch them cook and prep the food.
they have booths, low tables, high top tables, comfy couch-like seating. Something for everyone!
Artisans never disappoints, whether for lunch or dinner. This was my second time coming for dinner. (I've been tons of times for lunch.) The menu is pretty scary at first glance (looks very French). But it was good when I overlooked the words I didn't understand. I had a surf and turf dish and lobster bisque. Magnifique. My date had the fish; he enjoyed it. Grace was awesomesauce. I always recommend.
Bad service, the waiter forgot us in the bar.
We just paid the wine and left.
Muy rico lugar!!! El menú de degustación delicioso!!! Muy recomendable
I always enjoy my time at Artisans. The staff is very attentive, the open kitchen is fantastic and having Chef buzzing around makes the whole experience special, to say nothing of the great foods.
Fabulous atmosphere, very chic. Excellent food and service
We are from NY and ate here on the last night of a long road trip through Texas and Arizona. This was one of the best meals we had on the trip! Food was delicious and nicely presented. Staff was attentive and accommodating to our dietary restrictions. We would highly recommend dining here.
One of the best meals of my life.
Great service, Amazing food, and lovely surroundings. A great place for a special dinner with special people.
Great as always!
We had a most enjoyable evening. We sat at the chef's bar and had the tasting menu which was outstanding! The wine pairing was excellent! The service was impeccable. We're already planning another visit.
While we have been here several times and loved it, we had some difficulty this time. The sauce on the lamb was very pungent, the one who ordered it ended up scraping it off and eating around the sauce. Another in our party did not like the wild boar. The waitress as wonderful about it, handled it with class.
Excellent, as usual! Best French restaurant in Houston
Amazing ambience, food, and staff. Highly recommend for anniversary or a great romantic date night.
Delicious! Highly recommend the chicken and lobster tail with risotto. The Chilean sea bass was also very good. Service was excellent. Great meal overall!
Not our first visit, and it won't be our last. Every dish was full of delicious flavors. One of my favorite restaurants in Houston, even though our tab was on the higher side for just two people.
Excellent food. Some dishes were a little pricey, however overall it was excellent. Need better knives.
We all had the six-course menu with wine pairing. Everything was OUTSTANDING. This restaurant always excels in everything.
We did the 6 course tasting with the wine pairing. Every course was absolutely wonderful, with the foi gras and the scallop dishes standing out the most. The wine pairing was absolutely excellent with only one of the wines being good and the rest fantastic. This may been a higher dining experience but the setting is a little more casual. Only gripe was the table behind us was absolutely obnoxious.
I have been several times and keep going back for lunch, dinner and special occasions. Every item I have ever had from the menu exceeds the highest expectations. The food is absolutely as good as any you have tasted. The atmosphere is beautiful. The wait staff is excellent.
When we arrived, we were told there was only seating at the bar or high tables - after protesting, we were seated at a bench table. The seating on the bench side was very soft , uncomfortable and full of pillows. The food was not quality for the price and my husband was dismissed by the waitress when he asked why the wild boar was so tough.
This was our first time to visit Artisans and we could not have enjoyed it more. Food, Service, ambiance was all outstanding. Can not wait to return.
